    A. Summary of the Lesson Plan:The students will play Jeopardy to enhance their learning and to test their knowledge.

This way the students will review and mostly likely understand what they probably didnt

    throughout the lesson.

    B. Target Population: Grade Level: 5th grade Skill Level: All skill levels Grouping: Individual, partners, whole class.

    C. Materials: Paper Pencils Journal Jeopardy game (Look at last page). Smart board/projector

    D. Objectives: NV State Social Studies Standards

o H1.5.1 Identify and describe Native North American life and cultural regions prior toEuropean contact.

o H1.5.2 Identify and describe the attributes of Native American nations in the localregion and North America.

o H1.5.3 Discuss the interactions of early explorers with native cultures. Student-Friendly Standards

o I can show my understanding of Nevadas Native American life, culture andattributes, before and during the time early explorers came to North America.

    E. Procedure:1. The class will start with images on the smart board. The students will have to pair up the

    images with the words.

    2.

I will ask the students how their projects are going. If the students need more help, wewill go to the library so they can check out the books they need.

    3. The students will then proceed to play Jeopardy. The students will be questioned onwhat they have learned about the Washoe Tribe. This is engaging, but more

    importantly educational.

    4. The students will keep track of the questions that they get wrong. As a class we will goback on what we learned from the readings, guest speaker, and the field trip. This way

the students will get the idea and understand as to where the answers were provided.

    5. CLOSURE: A class discussion will be held about what the students previously learnedand what they found difficult.

    F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding?

I will measure my students understanding by making a list of the students and

checking how each of them is answering their questions to the game. I will also check

their journal for the warm up to see how well they were able to match the images with

    the vocabulary words.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.I will check students journals for the questions and answers of the jeopardy game. This

will notify me how well they have grasped the content and what they need to work on

    G. Reflection:1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?

The easiest would be the Jeopardy game because the students will most likely

know what the questions are and it will be based on what they already know.

    2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging would be having the students multi-task because theyll be

trying to answer the questions while they take notes. I believe it would be best tomake worksheet with all the questions and have students just write the answer.

    3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?I would follow up this lesson by having the students create their own worksheets

    about the Washoe Tribe.

    4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?I would try to have a one on one talk with each of those students to see how much

they know, that way we can go on based on their knowledge to enhance their

    understanding.

    5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?I think it would be the game because I want my students to go to the library to pick

up books they need. I dont know how time consuming it will be.

    6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?

I would have to say being time wise. Ihave the game, but also library time. Im

not sure how much time going to the library would take. I know that the game

takes up a good amount of time.
