Learning Target

LT:History: Looking back on 3 auto racers that have been in the Grand Pre and see how they have prepped for the race themselves and what they did to their cars.

Answer to Learning Target• Sebastian vettel makes sure all his items in his car are ready for

the race along with a full tank of gas and good tires so he does not have to make an early pit stop. He himself also makes sure he know the way the track is layed out.

• Christian Horner makes sure he know who he is racing against along with knowing all the difficult turns in the race he might have trouble with. He also makes sure his car has made all inspections and will not screw him up in the middle of the race.

• Jenson button makes sure his car is ready to race and he also makes sure his pit crew is prepared for the race as well. He make sure he is healthy enough to witch means good meal.

Safety Equipment

• This is a high pressure fuel pump. These are much better then the Lucas fuel pumps witch were referred to as “bombs”.

• This is the official helmet used by drivers

• these are tires that are used to line the Corse but also make for safety in case of a crash

Tips • Sebastian Vettel says always hold your ground and never

stop even if your inches from a win. He also said it’s a long race there's plenty of time to make a move. He says that you cant show up and do your job you have to push it all the way.

• Christian Horner says you will always fell like someone is staring you down so there will be tones of pressure. He also says small mistake are going to matter its coast big time racers their win.

Rules/How it goes down• Must have 2 or 3 outdoor target events:There will be races outside of Europe and the WC is also held outside of Europe.Competition will be organized with a 70 m. round. An annual circuit must host recurve and compound divisions.• Grand Prix will start with individual and team events.• On day 2 there is a captains meeting and equipment inspection.• Day 3 is qualification.• Day 4 is elimination team and individuals.• Day 5 is team events and day 6 is final individual. • Then racers go to review rules and captains meeting. Along with schedules.• Next teams and individuals will be able to practice.• Then the race and awards for teams and individuals.

Speeds

• Most racers go from 190 to 220• Some racers believe they could get 250 out of a F1

car• Some racer only believe a F1 car in the shape they

are in today could go 247mph at the most• A F1 car can go 100 in 3.2 to 3.8sec• A F1 car will slow down to 130 to 100 during a turn

Comparison

• NASCAR has more fans then F1 cars but some say NASCAR should not be considered a sport

• F1 car are more light in weight and high tech• NASCAR has races week in and out in the racing

season unlike F1• F1 cars are build to overtake sharp turn while

NASCAR only goes in circles
