Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel(ULSD) Fuel The diesel engine requires ultra low sulfur diesel fuel to control exhaust emissions, especially when combined with new exhaust  treatment devices such as a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). It is always important to make sure the proper fuel is used because use of improper fuel (e.g., high level of biodiesel fuel or a high sulfur diesel fuel) may cause serious engine damage. Use of biodiesel is acceptable as long as the content is no higher than 5% (B5). If the biodiesel is rated higher than B5 (such as B10 or B20), it may damage fuel system components. Diesel fuel quality iscritical for reliable engineoperation.Motorcraft  Cetane Booster &PerformanceImprover can beadded to improvefuel economy, starting ability, and redu ceengine wear. To avoid cold weather fuel gelling, add Motorcraft Anti-Gel &Performance Improver to every n ewtank of fuel. Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel(ULSD) FuelThe diesel engine requires ultra low sulfurdiesel fuel to control exhaust emissions, especially when combined with new exhaust treatment devices such as a Diesel ParticulateFilter (DPF). It is always important to makesure the proper fuel is used because use of improper fuel (e.g., high level of biodieselfuel or a high sulfur diesel fuel) may cause

serious engine damage. Use of biodieselis acceptable as long as the content is nohigher than 5% (B5). If the biodiesel israted higher than B5 (such as B10 or B20),it may damage fuel system components.

Diesel fuel quality iscritical for reliableengineoperation.Motorcraft ® CetaneBooster &PerformanceImprover canbeadded to improvefuel economy, starting ability, and reduceengine wear.To avoid cold weather fuel gelling,addMotorcraft® Anti-Gel &Performance

Improver to every newtank of fuel.

Drainingthe Water Separator Water will gather inthe frame-mounted water separator, called thehorizontal fuel conditioning module(HFCM).Thewater separator should bedrained monthly, orsooner ifthe “WATERIN FUEL” lamp illuminates.

ExhaustSystem  To control exhaustemissions, your diesel Super Dutyisequipped with anexhaustsystem with cleandieselafter-treatmenttechnology which includesa dieseloxidationcatalytic converter and a diesel particulatelter (DPF).Do notmodify theexhaustafter-treatment.Seeyour Owner’sGuide and Diesel Supplementformoreinformation.
