Creative Activities

2011 - (Other Creative Activities) Health Information Technology Scholars Program. Accepted

in the HITS Scholars program through KU, focusing on the expansion of the Virtual Clinic in

Nursing Education. Program is for 1 year, through 2011 with a conference in February in Kansas

City.

2011 - (Performance) Inter-Professional Health Leadership Conference. Presentation titled

Interprofessional Health Promotion and Disease Prevention in a Rural Free Mobile Health Care

Program based on clinical application of evidence regarding colorectal cancer screening in the

uninsured population.

Lead Nurse Practitioner, WATCH HealthCare Program (February, 2008 - August, 2011). Lead

Nurse Practitioner and primary care provider for the WATCH Healthcare Program that included

both clinical administrative supervision and direct primary care.

Nursing Supervisor and Primary Care Provider, Jones County Health Department (August, 2002 -

February, 2008). Roles included School nurse, public health nurse, nursing supervisor, and

primary care provider. I acted as the Health Educator and lead community training to include

health and wellness activities along with bioterrorism, disaster preparation and response, CPR

Instructor, and trained Red Cross Disaster Responder.

Home Health Nurse, Tarheel Home Health Agency (August, 2001 - August, 2002). Provided

direct home health care for 25 to 30 clients within eastern North Carolina.

Staff Nurse, Onslow Memorial Hospital (1999 - 2001). Provided direct hospital care for

inpatient populations including Labor and Delivery and Newborn Nursery.

Director of Nursing, Brynn Marr Behavioral Health Care System (1987 - 1999). I started as a

staff LPN and then continued to advance until I reach the DON position. We provided acute

psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for inpatients.
