73

CONNECTION TO THE MAINS WATER SUPPLY ANDDRAINAGE

The water supply hose is inside the drum:

a Connect the bent end of the hose to thethreaded inlet of the electrovalve locatedat the rear of the washing machine.

b Connect the other end of the hose tothe water intake. Then securely tightenthe connection nut.

installation and assembly

It is important that the drain hosebend is correctly fastened to theoutlet, to prevent any risk of itbecoming detached and causingflooding.

If your washing machine has a hotwater intake, connect the hose withthe red threaded end to the hot watertap, and to the electrovalve with thered filter.

The washing machine must beconnected to the mains water supply, using the new supply hoses suppliedwith the appliance. Do not use watersupply hoses that have been usedbefore. For your washing machine towork properly, the mains waterpressure must be between 0.05 and1MPa (0.05 and 10 Kgr/cm2).

a

a It is recommended that you have a fixeddrainage outlet 50 to 70 cm from thefloor.Avoid the drain hose being too tight, kinked or restricted.

LEVELLING THE WASHING MACHINE AND CONNECTINGIT TO THE MAINS ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

installation and assembly3

Consult the specifications plate located on thehatch door of the washing machine beforemaking the electrical connections. Ensure thatthe voltage reaching the plug is the same asthat on the plate.Do not remove the specifications plate. The information on it is important.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

It is very important to correctly earth thewashing machine. The electricalinstallation, plug, socket, fuses orautomatic switch and counter must becorrectly dimensioned for the maximumpower indicated on the specificationsplate.

Do not plug the washing machine pluginto the socket with wet or damp hands.

To remove the power cord, pull on thebody of the plug.

If the power cord is damaged, it must bereplaced by a cord or special unit providedby either the manufacturer or your after-sales service.

With built-in washing machines, the plugmust be accessible after installation.

Page 9: FU-6116IT (Model Diferent Amb Mateixes Funcions)

We recommend loading the washingmachine to its full capacity. Thismeans savings on water and energy.Whenever possible, we recommendthat you wash garments of differentsizes within the same washprogramme. This improves thewashing action and also aids thecorrect distribution of the garmentsin the drum when spin-drying, andthe washing machine will thereforebe quieter. It is a good idea to put small garmentsin a wash bag.

DETERGENT ANDADDITIVES

77

a Your washing machine’s detergentdispenser has three compartments.

b Put the detergent or additive into thedetergent dispenser before starting thewash programme.

c Liquid detergents may also be used inthis washing machine. An optionaldetergent dispenser is to be used forthis, which can be obtained from theTechnical Service Network.

Place this optional dispenser inside thewash compartment.

The level of liquid must never behigher than the MAX mark printed onthe dispenser wall.

Remember that the amount of detergent tobe used will always depend on:

The amount of clothes to be washed. How heavily the clothes are soiled. The hardness of the water (Information on

water hardness in your area can be obtainedfrom the competent local authorities).

We recommend the use of adecalcifying product if the waterhardness is high in your area.

2 USING DETERGENT AND ADDITIVES

using the appliance and practical tips

Remember that concentrated detergentsexist which are more environment- andnature-friendly.

The use of more detergent thannecessary will not improve youwashing results, and apart from costing

you money it will have a negative effecton the preservation of the

environment.

We therefore recommend you followthe detergent manufacturer’sinstructions.

Level the washing machine by adjusting thefeet to reduce the noise caused by spin-drying.

Try and wash clothes of different sizes inthe same wash programme to favour thedistribution of the clothes inside the drumduring spin-drying.

All the models have a safety system forspin-drying that prevents spin-drying frombeing carried out if the distribution of theclothes inside the drum is too concentrated. This prevents the appliance from vibrating toomuch. If you find that the clothes are not properlywrung out, try spin-drying them again afterhaving distributed the clothes more evenly inthe drum.

Why doesn’t the washingmachine take in water?

Why doesn’t the washingmachine drain or spin-dry?

Why doesn’t the washingmachine spin-dry?

Why can’t I see any water inthe drum during the wash?

Indicator F01, no water coming in, this may be due toa cut in the water supply, a tap turned off or a blockedwater inlet filter.

The possible solutions are as follows: wait for the watersupply to be reconnected, turn on the tap, or removethe water inlet hose and clean the filter. If this failure is detected, F01 will appear on the displayor the wash and rinse pilot lights will flash alternately.

The reasons for the F02 indicator may be the following:washing machine drain pump blocked, building drainagepipes blocked, or incorrect pump electrical connection.

Solution: if the pump is blocked, gain access to it asdescribed in section 2, maintaining and cleaning theappliance. If this failure is detected, F02 will appear on the displayor the rinse and end pilot lights will flash alternately.

This may be due to an uneven distribution of clothesin the drum and may cause an excessive level ofvibrations.

The solution is to select a spin-drying programme. If this failure is detected, C3 will appear on the displayor the wash, rinse and end pilot lights will flash alternatelywhile all the other control panel pilot lights will remainoff.

This is due to the fact that the washing machine is providedwith a system which is able to adapt to the load and typeof fabrics, adjusting the levels of water and energy used,in order to preserve the environment. So, although the water level you can see through the hatchmay look low, there is no cause for concern as washingand rinsing efficiency will still be optimum.

safety and troubleshooting

Why is there still some waterin the dispenser?

Why can’t I open the hatchimmediately after the washhas finished?

Why doesn’t the remainingtime shown on the clockcoincide with the real timeleft until the selected cyclefinishes?

Other anomalies

This may be because the dispenser needs cleaning. Thissimple operation is described in Maintaining and cleaningthe appliance. 1- Cleaning the detergent dispenser.

Washing machines today are provided with safety systemsfor users. One of them is that the washing machine cannotbe opened until it is certain that the drum is quite still. Thisis why the hatch cannot be opened for 2 minutes.

This time is for guidance purposes only and may be affectedby the conditions under which the selected programme isbeing run, e.g. initial water temperature, size of load orunbalance caused by the garments during spin drying.

The washing machine can detect other indications. When this happens a number of other indicators appearon the display: F05, F06, ..., F10 or the wash, rinseand end pilot lights will flash, together with one of theother control panel pilot lights. If this happens, call the Official Technical Service.
