INTRODUCTION

1) THE DATE

Ezekiel introduces himself to be “among the captives by the River Chebar” (1.1), and this is in

“the 30th year” (of what?), and also in the “5th year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity” (1.2). These years

mentioned are similar to our fiscal years for corporations where half of the year is in one calendar year,

and the second part in the next calendar year. The year begins when the king is crowned. This

arrangement produces the possibility of one year of the king being in two calendar years, and so, we must

experiment with (n-1). The fifth year could be: 598 BC - 4 (n-1) Years = 594 BC. Then again, it could

be: 598 - 5 = 593. But the “30th year” agrees with 594. Josiah (r. 640-10 BC) restored the Passover,

when the lost book of the law was found in his 18th year. [640 BC - 17 Years = 623 BC.] Could this

possibly be the “30th year?” [623 BC - 29 Years = 594 BC.] At other times, determined by the context,

and to maintain harmony in the chronology, we subtract the entire value of the number of the year

mentioned. And example of this case, is: “25th year of our captivity ... in the 14th year after the city was

captured” (Eze 40.1). [588 BC - 13 Years = 575 BC; 598 BC - 24 Years = 574 BC.] The two

calculations do not agree, and because they are the same year, we subtract the full value of the 14th year.

[588 BC - 14 Years = 574 BC.] The chronology of the entire Bible must be taken into consideration

when making these decisions. A writer who is only specializing in Ezekiel would be unfit for the task.

“At the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar ... took him to Babylon” - 2Chr 36.10.

“Him,” in this verse is Jehoaichin, and this year mentioned is probably the beginning of the

Jewish year, which was about March 15th.

But the point to be determined is, “How long did Ezekiel prophesy?” We do not need to become

experts in chronology to understand the prophecy, but it helps. A general idea of Ezekiel’s ministry is

essential to comprehending the book. Chapters 40-48 all fall under one date, “in the 25th year of our

captivity” (Eze 40.1). This may have been 574 BC, or 573 BC. But the last chapter is not the end of the

book! Look at this!

“And it came to pass in the 27th year” (Eze 29.17).

The “27th year” would be: [598 BC - 26 Years = 572 BC; or, 571 BC.] We have the following

examples of anachronisms in the book of Ezekiel.

Eze 29.1 - 10th year; 29.17 - 27th year; 30.20 - 11th year; 40.1 - 25th year.

In order to add to the confusion, we have no dated material after (Eze 33.22), and before (Eze

40.1). Are Chapters 38 & 39 intended to be (1) in the 11th year, or (2) in the 12th year, or (3) in the 27th

year, or (4) in the 25th year, or (5) to be determined by the context? What does the reader think?

Lest some should cry blasphemy, about our subject of anachronisms (as the Pope did in the Dark

Ages), we will point out that the book of Daniel is also out of order.

1. 599 3rd year of Jehoiakim (601-599); listed #1.

2. 598 2nd year of king (Nebuchadnezzar) over Judah; listed #2.

3. ??? Between 598 & 569; listed #3.

4. ??? “ “ “ ; listed #4.

Page 5: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

5. 562 1st year of Belshazzar; listed #7.

6. 560 3rd year of Belshazzar; listed #8.

7. 539 Last year of Belshazzar and 1st year of Cyrus; listed #5.

8-10. 537 3rd year of Cyrus; listed #s 10-12.

11. 520 1st year of Darius; listed #9.

12. 520 1st year of Darius; listed #6.

Quite a mess! What good did it do for God to put that big signpost at the beginning of each

chapter? Note that the “first year of Darius” is numbered Chapters 6 & 9. Then, Chapters 7 & 8 come

before Chapters 5 & 6. And, Chapters 10-12 precede Chapters 6 & 9. For centuries the commentators

have been interpreting Daniel wrong because they believed that the chapters were in the proper order.

This was a criminal offense with the Pope and the Holy Office (Inquisition), which was punishable by

death, to believe that anything in the Bible is out of order. But today the Pope’s Inquisitions have been

overthrown.

Although it may seem that we have been majoring in trivia, all of this has a bearing on our

interpretation of Ezekiel, Chapters 38 & 39. God will describe a date for the beginning of the prophecy

which does not fall into the chronology of the dates of Chapters 33 (12th year), or Chapter 40 (25th year).

Will your Faith stand the test? Faith is one of the seven Spirits of God, and Faith is supernatural! The

apostles asked the Lord Iesous (Jesus):

“And the apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our Faith’” - Lk 17.5.

In like manner, we are instructed to pray for Wisdom, another of the seven Spirits of God. (See:

Jas 1.5-8.) We have a lot of problems in the world today due to the lack of Faith in those claiming to

believe in Iesous. But let us move on, and share the observations we have made concerning “Parallel

Prophecies.”

2) PARALLEL PROPHECIES.

Chronology is beneficial, but another source of information is to recognize Parallel Prophecies,

and to classify them in the same period of time, and to emphasize their harmony and discord. Three

primary prophets will be considered as “parallel.” Although the other prophets had some of the messages

contained in these three books, they have a more complete list of the cohesive ingredients. Isaiah and

Jeremiah join Ezekiel to form the three Parallel Prophets. Although Isaiah lived 140 years before the

other two men, still he had the same subjects. Observe the predictions that are identical in all three books.

A) Iesous’ (Jesus’) Life and Ministry - Isa 9.6-7; Jer 33.15-16; Eze 37.22-24.

B) A New Covenant - Isa 55.3; Jer 31.31; Eze 34.25; 36.26.

C) The Earth - Isa 1.2-4; Jer 6.19; 22.29; Eze 8.12, 9.9; 31.9, 12.

D) Egypt - Isa 19; Jer 25.19; Eze 8.12; 9.9; 31.9, 12.

E) Israel - Isa 1.3-4; Jer 3.8; Eze 2.3.

F) Judah - Isa 3.8; Jer 1.15; Eze 4.6.

G) Moab - Isa 15; Jer 48.1; Eze 25.11.

H) Tyre (Tyrus) - Isa 23; Jer 25.22; Eze 26.4

The fact is obvious that all three prophets have the same message. We do have one major difference, and that is the number of prophecies of Isaiah that were fulfilled before the other two men were born. For example, the fall of Samaria in 721 BC (Isa 7.8), and the deaths of Pekah and Rezin (Isa 7.1, 8.4), and the deaths of 185,000 Assyrians (Isa 37.33,36). But this does not annul the obvious similarities of the three prophets of God. Even the trivial differences do not override the necessity of accepting this conclusion. Leviathan (Serpent; “Gift Giving”; meanig, “Idol Giving”) is limited to Isaiah alone, which is a tricky name for Egypt (as Behemoth [Beast] is a sly name for Assyria); and Ethiopia,

Page 6: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

6

Damascus, Ephraim, and Arabia, are not common to all three books. But they all agree that Nebuchadnezzar and/or Gog will rule all nations. Therefore Isaiah and Jeremiah do not condemn Gog, and Ezekiel does not condemn Babylon; but because the prophecies are the same, and Babylon and Gog are the major players in the act of God, along with Judah; we are left to assume that: BABYLON = GOG! We shall proceed with our interpretation, based on this supposition, and this will prove much more reliable than any of the other speculations presented down through the centuries, because it is based on a conclusion from the observation of facts -- the others are based on no facts at all. Wait and see! Do not judge until you hear (Prov 18.13). 3) FOUR VISITS TO JERUSALEM. One big misconception, in the interpretation of “Gog and Magog,” is the “hooks in the jaws of Gog,” and the “coming into the land of those ...gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel.” An “imaginary” invasion of Israel is substituted for a “real” invasion of Israel, which is documented in the Bible and in secular history. Some speculators place the “imaginary” invasion 2500 years after the prophecy! This is with no intervening fulfillment of future predictions from God. This is the definition of an “ellipsis.” The speculators use the terms, “the gap,” and “the parenthesis,” to describe their jump from here to there. But we will not be so bold with the word of God that saves the world. You can see that this is irrational, and totally at odds with the other Bible prophecies. This is what the Pope taught in the first Dark Ages (AD 600-1860); or 42 Months. Ezekiel was a Jewish prophet, and not a New Covenant Age prophet. We do have Gog and Magog in the New Covenant Age, predicted by Iesous our Lord (Rev 20), but this is an antitype; just as Spiritual Babylon (Papal Rome) is an antitype; and New Jerusalem is an antitype of ”Israel;” and “New Heaven and Earth” is an antitype of “First Heaven and Earth” (Israel). Bring your minds back to the Jewish prophet Ezekiel, and observe: “In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for three years” - 2Ki 24.1. (NUMBER ONE!) “Then he turned and rebelled against him. And ‘He Is’ sent against him bands of Chaldeans ... Syrians ... Moabites ... Ammon ... So Jehoiakim rested with his fathers” – 2Ki 24.6. (NUMBER TWO!) “Then Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place ... And he did evil in the sight of ‘He Is’ ... At that time Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem ... took him prisoner” – 2Ki 24.6-12. (NUMBER THREE!) “And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month (which was the 19th year of king Nebuchadnezzar) ... came to Jerusalem. He burned the house of ‘He Is’ ...” – 2Ki 25.8-9. (NUMBER FOUR!)

Jehoiakim ruled (609-599), and he made a covenant with Babylon in 601. In the third year (599) he rebelled. [This is the date in Daniel 1, but the Pope’s writers in the Dark Ages make it out to be 605 BC.] Jehoiachin replaced him, and ruled three months. He was carried off a prisoner the next year. The first of the year was about March 15, 598 BC. This is the year when Ezekiel dates the captivity, and the writing of his books. [This is a long way from the end of the world.] The 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar was: (606 BC - 18 Years = 588 BC). NOTE: 606 BC – 19 Years would be the “twentieth year.” When Ezekiel writes, “I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army ...” (Eze 38.4, 39.2), he is referring to the return to Jerusalem in 590-88 BC. The prophecy was intended for Nebuchadnezzar, delivered between 594 and 590 BC. Now much of the interpreting is over. The simpler is better. Logical conclusions are to be preferred to wild speculations. Now for the “coup de maitre” (masterstroke). What is the “Gate of Knowledge?”

4) THE GATE OF KNOWLEDGE. “After many days you will be visited. In the latter days you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate;

Page 7: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

7

and they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely” - Eze 38.8.

These verses make the prophesy clear -- and simple! Speculation is to be avoided at all costs. The following verses help us to set the date for when this prophesy was pronounced. All that was necessary, after many centuries of futility, was to look up the word, “sword.” And here is what we find: “The Gods (myhla) of the Hebrews has met with us. Please let us go three days’ journey into the desert and sacrifice to ‘He Is’ (hwhy) our Gods (myhla), lest He fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword” - Ex 5.3. NOTE: “God” singular is “la.” “The enemy said, ‘I will pursue ... I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them ...’ You stretched out Your right hand; the earth swallowed them” - Ex 15.9,12. “So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword” - Ex 17.13. “(Moses’ two sons) the name of one was Gershom (for he [Moses] said, ‘I have been a stranger in a foreign land’), and the name of the other was Eliezer (for, he [Moses] said, ‘The Gods of my fathers was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh’)” - Ex 18.4. “And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephath, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith ... quenched the violence of the sword ...” - Heb 11.32,34.

The nation of Israel is described as “brought back from the sword,” by Ezekiel; but we can see that this name was referring to the deliverance from the wrath of Gods, and from Egypt, and from Amalek. Then Israel was the “apple of Gods’ eye,” and he continued His protection through 450 years of Judges (Acts 13.30), and through the life of Samuel, and even through the kingship of David. But, Woe to the Earth! Israel was divorced from Gods in the days of Isaiah (Isa 50.1). This was between 715 & 698 BC. They had denied their Gods (myhla), and now have no one to save them from Gog and Magog. Jeremiah harps on this subject continually. This is one of the keys to prepare us for the task of interpreting Chapters 38 & 39, and we do not need any “Star Wars” stories to help us understand what is done and gone. 5) OTHER OPINIONS: GOG AND MAGOG. A) “The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Mesheck, and Tiras ... From these the coastland peoples of the nations were separated into their lands ...” - Gen 10.2,5. (This was immediately after Noah’s ark landed in about 2491 BC.) B) “A city in Syria called Magog (Pliny, v. 28);” 1881, Andrew Fausset. C) “Magog ... who by the Greeks (are) called Scythians;” Josephus, AD 95, Antiq 1.6.1. D) Jerome (345-420 AD) taught that Magog was the land north of the region called “Caucasus.”

Ezekiel (594-590 BC) was 1897 years after Magog in Genesis, and 500 years before Josephus, and 900 years prior to the writing of Jerome. The Babylonian and Persian and Greek and Roman Empires separated Ezekiel and Josephus. Many nations were displaced in wars establishing these empires, and some were annihilated completely, as was Assyria in 612 BC. In light of this information, we would be justified if we doubted Magog in AD 90 was the same location as Magog in 594 BC. This strengthens the probability that the identification of Gog and Magog by Parallel Prophecies is the most dependable. E) Gog = Gyges, who was Croesus’ grandfather. He gave the name Magog to the land. Seleucus (r. 323-281) was the beginning of the line, which led to Antiochus Epiphanes (r. 167-164; over Israel). Antiochus was the type of the False Prophet in Revelation, who was falsely dubbed the Antichrist (The antichrist is described in 1 Jn 4.2-3). F) Gog is some Scythian king or kings still to come. (This is from the Pope.) They now rule (written -

Page 8: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

8

1680 AD) Cappadocia, Iberia, Armenia; and are confederates with the Tartars. [NOTE: The Ottoman Empire ruled this area since AD 1400, then Constantinople being surrounded fifty years, fell on May 30, 1453 AD. A writer in 1680 should have known these facts.] G) Gog and Magog are the Constantinopolitan antichrist, and the Roman antichrist, with all their associates and helpers. H) This requires a non-literal interpretation. The final triumph of Messiah’s truth is represented as a literal conflict ... Although the details are not literal (the message) is generally literal interpretation. ... Eze 39.9-10. “Seven years” is rest after Antiochus Epiphanes’ horror at Jerusalem. [First it was the Messiah’s triumph, now it is Antiochus.] I) Gog is Antiochus Epiphanes. J) A Preterist Writer: Gog and Magog represent heathenism. K) A Futurists Writer: Gog and Magog appears to be an inclusive term for the Gentile nations. Ezekiel 38 & 39 must be distinguished from Revelation 20. [This is true!] L) Ecumenical Writer: Gog and Magog is a “mythical” scene. M) Second Ecumenical Writer: Gog and Magog seems to mean all people. N) Premillennial Summary: A future world leader attacking Israel.

As we can see, wild and woolly speculations are the rule rather than the exception. But what does the Bible say about all of this? First we must consider “The date” when Ezekiel wrote (594-572 BC); then we consider the similarities of “Parallel Prophecies;” after this the “Four Visits” to Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar are taken into account; but the real key is “Brought Back From The Sword,” which means out of Egypt. Then after the Bible sources were exhausted -- and only then -- we have observed the “opinions of other men.” The reader should be informed that much more preparation than that which is mentioned has been taken before attempting to solve the riddle. Some of it has been research in the original language, and history has been thoroughly taken into account, then many expositors have been consulted on this subject. But the majority of the preparation has been in prayer and Bible study. And should we get bogged down, we shall return and repeat the process in greater depth, and with more fervor. The reader must be impatient by now, for Introductions make boring reading, although they are a necessary evil; and so let us get at it! NOTE: The “divorced Israelites” (Isa 50.1), and the Israelites cursed with “blindness” (Isa 6.9-13, 35.5), and the Israelites denoted by the name “Satan” (Zec 3.1), took it upon themselves to translate the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek, producing the Septuagint, around 250 BC. These were students of Zoroaster, the “father of monotheism.” Zoroaster was a pagan from Media, writing around 600 BC, who invented his monotheistic god, and named him, “AhuraMazda.” Why the Jews denied the Hebrew Scripture and followed Zoroaster is unknown. But they took two names of God out of the Bible. The first name (Gen 1.1) was “Gods plural” (myhla); which was recorded over 2,200 times; but which is not found in any Bible translation today. The second name (Gen 2.4) was ‘He Is’ (hwhy), which is recorded over 6,400 times; but is not found in any Bible translation today. So then, the perverted Israelites did a pretty thorough job of purging the names of God out of the Old Testament. In like manner, the “early church fathers,” or else, the “popes who followed them” removed the name “Anointed” (Christos) from the New Testament. This method of corruption is entitled transliteration. They struck the letters “os” off the end of “Christos” (Anointed), and then slipped “Christ” in untranslated. Following right along, the British invented the letter “J” in about AD 1738, and corrupted all of the Old Testament names beginning with the letter “Y”, and also, all of the New Testament names beginning with the letter “I”; and -- substituted the newly invented letter “J.” Therefore, the Son of God, “Iesous,” was tagged with the false name, “Jesus.” The Devil and his messengers are filled with glee at the destruction of the Word of God. Of course, these three groups polluted hundreds of other words also. They were busy people! “la” = God singular, and “myhla” = plural Gods (Father & Son). [Hebrew reads right to left.]

CHAPTER 38

1) AGAINST GOG

“Now the word of He Is (hwhy) came to me, saying, ‘Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of [Rosh] Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him” - Eze 38.1-2.

Immediately we observe that Chapter 39 is the same prophesy recorded in Chapter 38, only in

more detail. (Compare: 38.1-4 with 39.1-2.) Our interpretation of Chapter 39 will be enhanced by our

knowledge of Chapter 38, and vice versa. Therefore we may benefit by working backwards as well as

forwards. This repetitive prophecy is common in the Bible, though not always back to back chapters. For

instance, Isaiah 13-14 is “against Babylon,” and Isaiah 21 is, “the burden against the wilderness of the sea

... ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen!’” Now consider Isaiah 47, “Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin

daughter of Babylon.” We should not be surprised that Ezekiel employs the same strategy in his book.

[“Rosh” is not mentioned in the Geneva Bible (1599) nor the Douay Old Testament (1609) nor

the King James Version (1611). Modern philosophers enjoy boasting about the incompetence of these

men, informing one and all that they did not have access to any Hebrew manuscripts. But listen to the

KJV writer’s testimony:

“Diligently compared with the Hebrew, Greek, and other editions in divers languages” (Douay); and:

“Newly Translated out of the originall tongues: & with the former translations diligently compared and

revised” (KJV); and ”Translated according to the Ebrew and Greeke, and conferred with the best

Translations in divers languages” (Geneva).

“The simple believes every word ...”

But the name “Rosh” adds nothing to the interpretation.

These words of Ezekiel are declared to be from He Is (hwhy), and also directed against Gog. Now let us consider what Isaiah and Jeremiah have to say about Babylon, which we have equated with

Magog in the Introduction. (See: Parallel Prophecies.)

“The burden against Babylon ... And Babylon ... the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be as when God

overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah” - Isa 13.1, 19.

“The word that He Is (hwhy) spoke against Babylon ... by Jeremiah the prophet ... Bel is shamed, Merodach is broken in pieces” - Jer 50.1-2.

The word of He Is endures to ever, and it condemns Babylon and Gog in very strong and certain terms. What we shall attempt to do, is to show the correlation between the three prophets throughout the

text of Ezekiel.

2) LEAD THE ARMY.

Page 10: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

10

“And say, ‘Thus says He Is Gods (myhla hwhy) “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of [Rosh] Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you ‘around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out with all your

army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of

them handling swords ...” - Eze 38.3-4.

In the Introduction, we have dated this prophecy to be between 594 BC, when Ezekiel first began

to prophesy, and 590 BC, when Nebuchadnezzar began the siege of Jerusalem. The date of the siege is

established in the “Kings of Judah,” which reads:

“Now it came to pass in the ninth year of his (Zedekiah’s) reign (598-588 BC), in the tenth month (Tebeth

= Dec/Jan), on the tenth day of the month (about Dec 25, 590 BC), that Nebuchadnezzar ... and all of his

army came against Jerusalem ...” - 2Ki 25.1.

(See also: Jer 32.1-2, 39.1, 52.4; Eze 24.1-2.)

The biblical writers of “Kings of Judah,” and “Jeremiah,” and “Ezekiel,” all concur relating to the

beginning of the siege of Jerusalem. One of the “evidences” that the Bible is authored by God, is the

harmony of all the writers; even those who wrote thousands of years apart, as Moses and the apostles. So

then, God intended for the Babylonians to prevail because of Judah’s obstinacy, and unrepentant hearts.

Our Parallel Prophets record their messages, before the fact, like this:

“For you (Day Star - vs 12) have said in your heart, ‘I will ascend into Heaven (Judah’s Government), I

will exalt my throne above the Stars of God (la) [prophets]; I will sit on the mount of the congregation (Earth) ... I will be like the Most High’” - Isa 14.13-14.

Isaiah wrote these words, possibly in the reign of Ahaz (Isa 7.1), who reigned from 742 to 727

BC. The thoughts of Nebuchadnezzar, discerned by God -- before he was born -- are to conquer

Jerusalem. This ambition and motivation was inspired by God, who controls kings and kingdoms.

Ezekiel has expressed the same thoughts in different words, but what does Jeremiah have to say for God?

“Out of the north ... I am calling all families of the kingdoms of the north ... They shall come and each

one set his throne at the ... gates of Jerusalem ...” - Jer 1.14-15.

Xerxes I, king of Persia, is recorded to have set his throne on a hill to watch the naval battle of

Salamis (480 BC), which Persia lost; and so, this description may be intended to be taken literally. The

king ruled no matter where he was, and the throne was his symbol of authority. It would not be surprising

then, if the king took his throne with him on his adventures.

3) THE PREPARATION.

“Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you ... After many

days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those ‘brought back from the

sword’ and gathered from many people ‘on the Mountain (Kingdom) of Israel’ ... and now all of them

dwell safely” - Eze 38.7-8.

THIS IS THE KEY VERSE TO THE PROPHESY! Much confusion has resulted from not

properly investigating this verse, and especially the phrase, “brought back from the sword.”

Nebuchadnezzar made “Four visits to Jerusalem” (see: Introduction), and peace and safety, from attack

from without, were enjoyed by the Jews between these visits. (God condemns them for shedding

innocent blood and exploiting the poor from within.) Ezekiel began to prophesy in 594 BC, the “fifth

year of captivity, and the 30th year” (from 623 BC, and Josiah’s Passover). He prophesied before the

Page 11: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

11

siege in 590 BC. “And now dwells safely,” refers to this period of peace from 598 to 590. Hear the

“Weeping prophet” (Jeremiah):

“O you children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee ... For disaster appears out of the north ...’Prepare

war against her; arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces;: - Jer 6.1, 4-5.

“Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire; strangers devour your land in your presence;

and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. So the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard ...

as a besieged city” - Isa 1.7-8.

Ezekiel tells Gog to prepare, and Jeremiah addresses someone in the north to prepare. They are

speaking to the same man! The constancy of the prophesy of Ezekiel is maintained by the prophets Isaiah

and Jeremiah. One mentions Gog, and the other names Babylon.

On another subject, we must discuss “After many days and in the latter years.” These phrases are

the cause of misunderstanding on a great number of Scripture throughout the Bible. The Futurists and

Premillennials interpret all of these phrases, regardless of context or time period, to be limited to the end

of the world. On the other hand, the Preterists demand that we understand every phrase like this to be

confined to Iesous’ fleshly ministry and the lifetime of the apostles -- only! Extremism is a deadly

disease! The Bible is a huge book containing over 1,125,000 words. Surely we must have at least two

time periods in a volume of this magnitude. The Seven-headed Beast of Revelation is agreed upon by

Protestant expositors -- this means before the Ecumenical Movement -- to designate: Egypt, Assyria,

Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, and Constantinople. We will observe the words of Ezekiel, “After many

days and in the latter years” as they applied to the Seven-headed Beast, and Judah and Israel.

(1) EGYPT: Pharaoh’s army died in the Salt Sea, and Nubia and Ethiopia are recorded to have reduced

the size of Egypt greatly at that time.

“... and after that he will let you go ... If they do not believe ... the message of the first sign, that they may

believe the message of the latter sign” - Ex 3.20; 4.8.

(2) ASSYRIA: Babylon and Media and Scythia combined to destroy Nineveh in 612 BC. Further

resistance in 609 resulted in the annihilation of the Assyrians.

“... do not be afraid of the Assyrian ... For yet a very little while and the indignation will cease ...” - Isa

10.24-25.

“For in that day every man shall throw away his idols ... Then Assyria shall fall by a sword not of man ...”

- Isa 32.7-8.

(A) JUDAH: Nebuchadnezzar subdued Jerusalem four times; in 601, and in 599, and three

months later in 599 BC, and in the great war of 590-588 BC.

“For look, He Is (hwhy), He Is of hosts, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stock and the store, the whole supply of the bread ... water” - Isa 3.1.

(3) BABYLON: Cyrus, “My anointed,” captured Babylon in 539 BC, and they rebelled under Darius I, in

519/18 BC, and were destroyed again. “Babylon is fallen, is fallen” - Isa 21.9.

“... O, virgin daughter of Babylon ... you did not take those things to heart, nor remember the latter end of

them” - Isa 47.1, 7.

“And after that, in another year ... Then the ‘Heavens and the Earth’ (Israel) ... shall sing joyously over

Babylon ...” - Jer 51.46, 48.

Page 12: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

12

(4) PERSIA: Alexander the Great defeated Persia in 331 BC, after a long reign. But the Scripture quoted

below is about victory in Iesous Anointed, in the first century AD.

“For I have bent Judah, My bow, filled the bow with Ephraim ... against your sons, O Greece ... He Is the

Gods of them (mhyhla hwhy) will save them in that day ...” - Zec 9.13, 16.

Beware of extremists, who teach you that one phrase means the same thing every time it is used

in the Bible. Seek out teachers of moderation in thought and speech. “By their fruits you shall know

them.”

4) ASCENDING THE MOUNTAIN.

“You will ascend coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops, and many

peoples with you” - Eze 38.9.

Jerusalem was wonderfully situated to withstand the siege. She was built on the highest mountain

in the area, and had solid walls for her defense. In AD 70, Jerusalem had three walls to restrain the

Romans. The outer wall surrounded the city, and the second wall encircled the temple area, while the

third wall was the temple itself. The Jews refused to surrender, and would retreat from wall to wall. The

history of the fall of Constantinople mentions three walls. In Hezekiah’s day (727-698 BC), the prophet

Isaiah describes multiple walls as a “tomb” for the Assyrians.

“What have you here, and whom have you here, that you have hewn a sepulcher here, as he who hews

himself a sepulcher on high, who carves a tomb for himself in a rock?” - Isa 22.16.

Combining this report with the account in 2 Kings (19.35), it appears that the Assyrians had

passed over the outer wall, and were demanding surrender from the leaders of Judah on the inner wall.

“On a certain night the angel of He Is (hwhy) killed 185,000 Assyrians”, in the tomb that they had hewn out. Knowledge of these facts would instill false confidence in Judah, despite God’s pleadings for them

to serve Babylon. The population of Judah was: 10 x 42,360 = 1,270,800. Two-thirds died in the war,

and one-tenth returned from captivity, and these totaled 42,360. (Ezra 2.64, Isa 6.13, Eze 5.2.) The

invading army must outnumber the defenders of the walls, and so, Nebuchadnezzar’s troops were many

and strong. Look at Jeremiah’s report.

“Look, a people comes from the north country, and a great nation will be raised from the farthest parts of

the earth” - Jer 6.22.

“For you have said in your heart, ‘I will ascend into Heaven (Judah’s Government) ...” - Isa 14.13.

No ambush here! They cannot say that they were not warned. The conformity of the three

prophets is amazing! Besides that, Moses had foretold this event too. We are building an “air-tight” case

in support of our theory of “Parallel Prophets.” Let us summarize what we have covered so far.

A. Prophesy against Gog - Eze.

The burden against Babylon - Isa.

He Is spoke against Babylon - Jer.

B. Turn you around, lead you out with army - Eze.

I will ascend into Heaven - Isa.

Out of the north ... calling all families - Jer.

Page 13: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

13

C. You will ascend ... cover the land - Eze.

I will ascend - Isa.

A great nation raised - Jer.

5) AN EVIL PLAN;

a) “Thus says He Is Gods (myhla hwhy): ‘On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan, you will say, “I will go up against a land of unwalled villages

... having neither bars nor gates”’” - Eze 38.10-11;

b) “Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon ... I was angry with My people; I have

profaned My inheritance, and given them into your hand. You showed them no mercy; on the elderly you

laid your yoke heavily ... For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, ‘no one sees me’” - Isa

47.1, 6, 10;

c) “If I go to the field, then behold, those slain with the sword! And if I enter the city, then behold, those

sick from famine” - Jer 14.18.

Jeremiah speaks of the siege while the famine was taking effect in Jerusalem; and those out of

Jerusalem, representing the “unwalled villages” of Ezekiel’s prophecy, are struck down “in the field,”

without the benefit of walls of defense. Isaiah assigns this as the reason for Babylon’s punishment. After

all, Nebuchadnezzar was “My servant,” as witnessed by God (25.9). But his zeal carried him away with

cruelties and inhumanities not acceptable to the He Is Gods. The prophet Zechariah, after the “70 years captivity” reports the same accusation against Babylon (see: Zec 1.15). And this is the “evil plan”

mentioned by Ezekiel. So then, we are rolling right along with our theory of Parallel Prophets, and it

seems to be the proper answer to the problem. This is preferable to the “2500 year gap theory!” which the

Premillennials promote.

6) PLUNDERING THE LAND;

a) “... to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again

inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations (Egypt and Moab), who have acquired livestock

and goods ... Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish ... will say, ‘Have you come to take plunder? ...’” -

Eze 38.12-13;

b) “The bronze (plunder) pillars that were in the house of He Is (hwhy) ... the bronze sea ... the Chaldeans broke in pieces, and carried their bronze to Babylon (Magog) ... the two pillars, one sea, and the carts ...

the bronze of all these articles was beyond measure ... The height of one pillar was eighteen cubits (31.5

feet), and the capital on it was bronze ... the second pillar was the same ...” - 2Ki 25.13, 16-17.

The waste places that are again inhabited, and a people gathered from the nations, both seem to

relate to Israel and Judah. Shalmeneser, king of Assyria, besieged Samaria three years before the fall of

the kingdom in 721 BC. Israel, or Samaria, was carried captive to many countries, and God records that

they “ceased to be a people” (Isa 7.8). (Despite this dogmatic statement, many men have written books

identifying the “Ten Lost Tribes Today.”) Their country was wasted due to engaging in a losing war, and

as a result of deportation. Samaria, the waste places were inhabited again when Assyria brought

immigrants from Babylon, Cuthah, Ava, Hamath, and Sepharvaim -- each with their own gods (myhla; 2Ki 17.24, 30-31).

Judah was wasted, following the fall of Samaria, when the Assyrian troops camped just outside

the city walls of Jerusalem. Hezekiah prays to God:

“Truly, He Is (hwhy), the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their lands ...” -Isa 37.18; 714 BC.

Page 14: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

14

Then Judah became inhabited again during the 55 year reign of Manasseh (697-643). The

Assyrian empire was decaying, and losing its grip on the domination previously exercised over satrapies,

or subjective kingdoms. No one had assumed the leadership role over this vast empire during the

restoration of Judah.

The livestock refers to the fact that Israel had much cattle, and sheep, and oxen, which was for a

livelihood, but was also necessary due to the required animal sacrifices for sin offerings, and peace

offerings, and trespass offerings, and sins of ignorance, and holy days; besides the morning and evening

offering;

a) “A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds -- a great deal of livestock” - Ex

12.38;

b) “And Solomon offered a sacrifice ... 22,000 bulls and 120,000 sheep” - 2Chr 15.10;

c) “For Hezekiah ... gave a thousand bulls and 7000 sheep” - 2Chr 30.24.

We may observe that livestock was an integral part of the life of the Israelites. The “blessing of

the law” includes the livestock;

d) “And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and

the fruit of your land ... the increase of your cattle and offspring of your cattle ...” - Deut 7.13.

Zedekiah led the nation of Judah into plunder by refusing to heed the prophet Jeremiah, as is

recorded in 2 Kings and Jeremiah. When the temple and the king’s house were plundered that was most

of the wealth of Judah. We have established the date when Nebuchadnezzar began the siege, and the

termination was, “in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month (which was in the 19th year of king

Nebuchadnezzar) ...” - 2Ki 25.8.

This was about September 22, 588 BC. But the Gentiles are included in the “earthquake” that

Babylon, or Magog, caused to come upon the whole earth. Consider Dedan and Tyre;

e) “Thus says He Is Gods of (yhla hwhy) of Israel to me; ‘Take this wine cup of fury from My hand, and cause all the nations ... to drink it ... Jerusalem and the cities of Judah ... all the kings of Tyre ...

Dedan ... and all in the farthest corners ... Also the king of Sheshack shall drink after them ... For He Is has plundered their pasture, and peaceful dwellings are cut down ...” - Jer 25.15, 18, 22-23, 26, 36-37.

Tarshish is described by Isaiah to be subservient to Tyre, and Sheshack is identified by Jeremiah

to be Babylon. And they are both components of Ezekiel’s prophecy at this time;

f) “The burden against Tyre. Wail you ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste ... Wail, you ships of

Tarshish! For your strength is laid waste” - Isa 23.1, 14;

g) “Oh, how Sheshach is taken! ... How Babylon has become desolate ...” - Jer 51.41.

Isaiah and Jeremiah have jumped ahead of Ezekiel’s prophecy, but he will agree in due time. The

Parallel Prophecies are equating “Gog” and “Nebuchadnezzar,” and “Magog” and “Babylon.” Plunder

and waste are synonymous between the prophets, and Dedan and Tarshish are identical between Ezekiel

and Isaiah and Jeremiah. Then livestock is seen to be a principal asset of the nation of Judah that was

plundered, and Israel was a people gathered from the nations. So far everything has been the same, which

describes “Gog and Magog,” and which describes “Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon.” Will the theory hold

up to the end? What do you think?

7) I AM MADE HOLY IN YOU, GOG.

Page 15: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

15

“Therefore son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says He Is Gods (myhla hwhy); “On the day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it?” Then you will come from out of the far north

... You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud ... the nations may know Me, when I am made

holy in you, Gog, before their eyes’” - Eze 38.14-16.

The Bible is very redundant at times, and this is one of them! These three verses (14-16) are

identical with (8-9) and (11-13). One common theme is “lead you out,” compared to “come into the

land,” synonymous with “you will ascend ... covering the land,” equated to “I (God) will go against ... to

plunder.” The historical event pictured in all of these verses is Nebuchadnezzar’s, or Gog’s, invasion of

Judah, and Tyre, Edom, Egypt, Moab, Israel, and Earth. The only new thought since verse four is the

“evil plan” in verse ten. We will explain the reason for the redundancy at the end of Chapter 38.

8) THE FORMER PROPHETS AND GOD’S WRATH.

“Are you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who

prophesied for years in those days that I would bring you against them? ... when Gog comes against the

land of Israel ... that My fury will show in My face. For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have

spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel ...” - Eze 38.17-19.

A) WHOM DID THE PROPHETS SPEAK OF?

The moment of truth has arrived! No fake interpretation will pass the test presented here by

Ezekiel. The seducers of the simple, and the men of God, will both be made manifest by their evaluation

of this verse.

(I) Is this one, “He of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel” the

Pope’s “imaginary” Antichrist at the end of the world? What prophets in former days (meaning before

590 BC) spoke of the “imaginary” Antichrist of the Premillennials?

(II) Name the former prophets (plural) who spoke of Antiochus Epiphanes -- if you can!

(III) Who prophesied against Magog in Syria?

(IV) What men of God foretold the woes of the Scythian invaders?

(V) How many former prophets wrote of a “mythical” scene?

(See: Other Opinions in the Introduction.)

(VI) Who were the former prophets who spoke of Babylon, and the invasion and captivity of Judah?

Numbers I to V are not in the Bible, but are only false interpretations of “Gog and Magog.” But then,

concerning Number VI -- Now we have something to sink our teeth into! Following is a list of the

prophecies referred to under Number VI.

(VI - #1) MOSES (1635 BC). “He Is (hwhy) will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand ...” - Deut 28.49.

(VI - #2) HOSEA (807-722). “For I (God) will be like ... a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I,

will tear them and go away; I will take them away, and no one shall rescue” - Hos 5.14.

(VI - #3) JOEL (c. 713 BC). “A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been ... The

Earth (Judah) quakes before them, the Heavens (Governments) tremble; the Sun (Zedekiah) and Moon

(Levitical priesthood) grow dark, and the Stars (prophets) diminish their brightness” - Joel 2.2, 10.

(VI - #4) AMOS (807-782). “For three transgressions of Judah, and for four ... I (God) will send a fire

upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem” - Amos 2.4-5.

(VI - #5) HABAKKUK (before 611 BC). “For indeed I (God) am raising up the Chaldeans, a bitter and

hasty nation, who marches through the breadth of the Earth (Israel) to possess dwelling places that are not

theirs” - Hab 1.6.

(VI - #6) ZEPHANIAH (640-615). “I (God) will stretch out My hand against Judah, and against all the

inhabitants of Jerusalem ... For the day of He Is (hwhy) is at hand, for He Is has prepared a sacrifice; He

Page 16: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

16

has invited His guests” - Zeph 1.4, 7.

B) MY FURY WILL SHOW IN MY FACE.

Daniel’s prophecy of Antiochus Epiphanes has no mention of God’s “fury in His face.” Neither

God’s “fury” nor God’s “face” are to be found anywhere. (Antiochus’ fury and face are recorded, but that

is not convincing.) And, the “imaginary” Antichrist in Ezekiel [“real” one is in First John and Second

Thessalonians] does not contain this exact phrase. “... hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne

and from the wrath of the Lamb!” (Rev 6.16); this clearly portrays another dispensation of time than

Ezekiel’s prophecy, for the Lamb is not mentioned by the Jewish prophets. Speaking theoretically, if we

can produce this phrase in reference to Babylon, or Nebuchadnezzar, then we have carried the day, we

have won the battle;

a) “They come to fight the Chaldeans, but only to fill their places with the dead bodies of men whom I

(God) will slay in My anger and My fury, all for whose wickedness I have hidden My face from this city”

- Jer 33.5;

b) “For this city (Jerusalem) has been a provocation of My (God’s) anger and My fury from the day that

they built it ... so I will remove it from before My face ...” - Jer 32.31;

c) “For I have set My (God’s) face against this city for adversity (fury?) and not for good ... the king of

Babylon, and he shall burn her with fire” - Jer 21.10.

C) A GREAT EARTHQUAKE.

“Now the Egyptians are men, and not God (La); and their horses are flesh, and no Spirit. When He Is (hwhy) stretches our His hand, both he who helps will fall, and he who is helped will fall down; they all will perish together” - Isa 31.3. (See: 2Ki 24.7; 25.9.)

[After Babylon conquered Judah, then they proceeded to take Egypt.]

An “earthquake” in prophecy is the overthrow of nations, such as, Rome in AD 395 (Rev 6.14),

and Edom (Jer 49.21), and Jerusalem in AD 70 (Hag 2.6, Heb 12.27). Judah was “moved,” literally, from

Jerusalem to Babylon in 588 BC. Three factors harmonize Ezekiel’s prophecy with the fall of Jerusalem

to Babylon. These are: “whom the former prophets spoke of” and “My fury in My face,” and, lastly, “a

great earthquake.” The “Other Opinions,” presented in the Introduction, cannot even vaguely

approximate the biblical account of Ezekiel in Chapter 38.

9) A SWORD AGAINST GOG.

“‘I will call for a sword against Gog on all My mountains,’ says He Is Gods (myhla hwhy). ‘Every man’s sword will be against his brother. And I will bring judgment with pestilence and blood; I will rain

down on him, on his troops ... flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and sulfur. Thus I will magnify Myself

and make Myself holy, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am

He Is’” - Eze 38.21-23.

A) GOD CALLS FOR A SWORD.

He Is calls for a “sword against Gog,” according to Ezekiel; and He calls for “a sword against Babylon,” as related by the Parallel Prophets, who are Isaiah and Jeremiah. Once again, the prophets will be

allowed to speak for themselves, with no speculation or theorizing on our part. Here is the son of Amoz’

account;

a) “The burden against Babylon ... Everyone who is found will be thrust through, and everyone who is

Page 17: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

17

captured will fall by the sword” - Isa 13.1, 15;

b) “How are you fallen from Heaven (Government), Day Star, son of the morning (Lucifer is nonsense) ...

But you are cast out of your grave ... thrust through with a sword ...” - Isa 14.12, 19.

The prophet of Anathoth in the land of Benjamin puts it this way;

c) “Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle at harvest time. For fear of the

sword everyone shall turn to his own people (Jews included), and everyone shall flee to his own land

(Judah)” - Jer 50.16;

d) “‘A sword is against the Chaldeans,’ says He Is (hwhy), ‘Against the inhabitants of Babylon, and against her princes and her wise men’” - Jer 50.35.

(See also: Jeremiah 51.36-37, 51.49-50.)

“Mountains” in prophecy symbolize kingdoms, and so, “mountains of Israel” would naturally

depict the twelve tribes of Israel, or twelve kingdoms. For examples of this employment of the word

“mountains” see: Isa 44.23, 49.11-13, 52.7, 54.10; Jer 4.23-24, 9.10;

e) “Hear, Earth (Judah)!” - Jer 6.19;

f) “Earth (Judah), Earth, Earth, hear the word of He Is (hwhy)” - Jer 22.29; g) “(12) mountains of Israel, hear the word of He Is (hwhy) ” - Eze 36.1. B) SWORD AGAINST BROTHER.

The “four horsemen of the Apocalypse” are represented in Iesous’ prophecy, which was revealed

to the apostle John on the Isle of Patmos, in about AD 67. They are described for us;

a) “... a White Horse ... he went out conquering and to conquer” - Rev 6.2;

b) “Another Horse, fiery Red ... to take peace from the earth, and that the people should kill one another;

and there was given to him a great sword” - Rev 6.4;

c) “A Black Horse ... scales in his hand ... ‘A quart of wheat for a denarius ...’” - 6.5-6;

d) “A Green Horse ... who sat on it was Death and Hell followed with him ...” - 6.8.

These are the Four Spirits of God to punish the earth. They are simplified as: War, Civil War,

Famine, and Death. They are described with these colors: White, Red, Black, and Green. In Zechariah

(6) they are: White, Red, Black, and Dappled. The Bible students have been familiar with them for

centuries, and artists too! Brass sculptures of these Four are advertised periodically in magazines. War is

more specifically entitled, “Invading War,” to distinguish it from Civil War. Famine and Death

frequently work in unison with War and Civil War. The assembly of huge numbers of troops create

health problems, and produce Famine. The movement of troops destroys crops, also producing Famine.

“A sword against Gog” declares Invading War, and “Every man’s sword against his brother” announced

Civil War. Finally, Pestilence and Bloodshed include Famine and Death in this picture. Woe, woe, woe,

woe, four woes on the earth!

Isaiah has an account of the Four Horsemen, as relates to Ezekiel’s prophecy;

e) “Go up, Elam! Besiege, Media! ... And he saw a chariot with a pair (2) of Horsemen, a chariot of

donkeys, a chariot of camels ... And look, here comes a chariot of men, a pair of Horsemen (2) ...

‘Babylon if fallen, is fallen!’” - Isa 21.2, 7, 9.

[2 + 2 =4 Horsemen. Chariot = Pair of Horsemen, or, a chariot of ]2] men; and a pair of

Horsemen.]

Would you believe that one of these Horsemen is “Love?” Another is “Forgiveness?” “Sounds

inconceivable,” you say. Have you never heard of “Hot and Cold?” Why don’t we compare the Four

Horsemen with the Four Living Creatures before the throne of God? These are listed to be: Face of Man,

Page 18: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

18

Face of Lion, Face of Calf/Ox, Face of Eagle (Rev 4.7, Eze 1.10). Then Paul characterizes them as:

One Body (Man/Love), and One Faith (Lion/Victory), and One Hope (Ox/Knowledge), and One Dipping

(Eagle/Forgiveness). These are the Four Spirits of God that work through man on earth.

Then the three direct from Third Heaven are: One Spirit (Wisdom), and One Lord (Atonement),

and One God (Adoption).

But we will limit ourselves to the first Four Spirits of God on earth. (1) “Faith is the Victory” [1

Jn 5.4]. (2) And, “We know that we have passed from death to life -- because we Love the brothers” [1

Jn 3.14]. (3) “We are saved by Hope” [Knowledge of the Word - Rom 8.24]. (4) And, we are Dipped for

forgiveness of sins [Acts 2.38] -- that are past [Rom 3.25]; producing “Forgiveness.” The Eagle

represents the Spirit of Urgency. See how God confirms this fact;

f) “He (Babylon) will come like an Eagle against the house of He Is (hwhy)” - Hos 8.1. And “Dipping” is represented also to be urgent, “Except a man be born again out of Water and of

Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God” - Jn 3.5. Consider our parallel list below.

UNDER FAVOR OUT OF FAVOR

WHITE: Lion/Faith/Victory War/Defeat

RED: Man/Love/Sacrifice Civil War/Hate

BLACK: Ox/Sowing/Bread of Life Famine

PALE: Eagle/Dipping/Forgiveness/Peace Death and Hell

Now we will apply these options to Isaiah’s Horsemen. The “Donkeys” symbolize the “Prince of

Peace riding a Donkey,” and represent Peace or Hell (Hot or Cold). Believers in Iesous as the Son of God

have Peace, and those “who do not believe are condemned already” (Jn 3.18). The “Camels” signify a

“Trade Caravan,” which brings Bread; or, in time of woe - Famine. The chariot with two Horsemen are

Elam and Media (or, the two remaining Horsemen), which are Defeat (Invading War) and Civil War. The

conclusion was: “Babylon is fallen (once), is fallen (twice)!”

INVADING WAR brought Babylon down in 539 BC, when Cyrus led Persia (Elam) and Media

(Media) to kill Belshazzar. CIVIL WAR occurred in the second year of Darius I (519/18), when Babylon

rebelled and was defeated. Zechariah describes this for us;

g) “We (Four Horsemen) have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting

quietly ... I (God) am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease, for I was angry a little, and they helped -

- with evil” - Zec 1.11, 15;

h) “The one with the Black Horses (Famine) is going to the north country (Babylon), the White (Invading

War) are going after them (to Babylon) ... See, those who go toward the north country (Babylon) have

given rest to My Spirit in the north country” - Zec 6.6, 8.

And this is the story of Ezekiel’s prophecy against Gog and Magog in Chapter 38, just like

Isaiah’s prediction against Babylon, and in perfect harmony with Jeremiah’s forecast against Babylon.

Now then, what is the reason for all of the redundancy in Chapter 38? Verses 4-7 are about Gog being

“led out” with his army, while verses 8-9 stated the same thing in different terms. As if this were not

enough, verses 15-16 repeat the story again. These two chapters in Ezekiel 38 & 39, correspond to 50

years of prophecy by Isaiah, and also 24 years of warnings from Jeremiah. When you compact that much

teaching into two chapters you cannot help but to repeat yourself. But did Ezekiel know what he was

talking about anyway? The prophets of God declared that they did not understand the message;

h) “Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, ‘My lord (to an angel), what shall be the end of

Page 19: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

19

these things? And he said, ‘Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of

the end’” - Dan 12.8-9;

i) “... ‘What are these, my lord?’ ... (#1) ‘Do you not know what these are?’ ... ‘No, my lord.’ (#2) ...

‘What are these two olive trees ...?’ (#3) [No reply to the question.] And I further answered and said to

him, ‘What are these two olive branches ...?’ (#4) Then he answered me and said, ‘Do you not know

what these are?’ And I said, ‘No, my lord.’” (#5) ...” - Zec 4.4-5, 11-13; that was much ignorance;

j) “Who are these arrayed in white robes ...?’ And I said to him, ‘Sir, you know.’ So he said to me ...’” -

Rev 7.13-14.

The prophets stated dogmatically that they did not understand the visions. And Peter stated this

in terms that little children can comprehend;

k) “To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which have

now been reported to you through those who have declared the good message to you by a Holy Spirit sent

from Heaven -- things which messengers desire to look into” - 1Pet 1.12.

We should consider that maybe Ezekiel did not know who Gog was when he wrote! The

message was not necessary at that time, for Isaiah and Jeremiah had stated it clearly. Daniel did not

comprehend his message! He begged for an explanation, but found none. Zechariah did not understand

his vision. He was examined by the angel to test his comprehension, and he had none. The apostle John

did not understand his vision. The angels with Zechariah and John answered their own questions, put to

the prophets, but neither Zechariah nor John could answer the questions. Daniel’s question was ignored,

and so, he remained in darkness. The moral of the story is that the fulfillment of prophecy is the best

interpreter of prophecy. Ezekiel wrote about Gog before he was slain. After that took place, there was no

need for further writing on the subject. This disproves the vain theory, called “Historical-grammatical

Interpretation,” which teaches that the Bible must be interpreted with the meaning of the words in the

lifetime of the prophets. If this were true, then, there would be no prophecy. The Devil would understand

the message and make sure that no one fulfilled the prophecy. But then, Paul stated this dogmatically;

l) “... how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery ... which in other Ages was not made

known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by Spirit to the holy apostles and prophets of Him”

- Eph 3.3, 5.

Paul testified that the message of the prophets was sometimes unknown to them, as Peter

confirmed also (1Pet 1.12). Isaiah and Jeremiah condemned Babylon without symbolism. Why did

Ezekiel have a hidden message? Possibly the time for understanding the communication was to come

about later in time. We also have a message from the Lord Iesous Anointed and the apostles about types

and antitypes. Israel was the type, and New Jerusalem is the antitype. Consider the three captivities of

Israel and New Jerusalem, and how they parallel each other.

1. Egyptian Bondage (1850-1635 BC) 1. Roman Servitude (AD 77-325).

Pharaoh & Counselors Emperor & Senate

2. Babylonian Captivity (588-518 BC) 2. Spiritual Babylonian Captivity (AD 600-1860)

Gog & Magog Beast & False Prophet

3. Servants of Sin (AD 28-77) 3. Camp of Saints Surrounded (AD 1959-2004)

Pharisees & Scribes Spiritual Gog & Magog (Rev 20.7-10)

Maybe Ezekiel’s purpose is to warn us today by antitypes. Think about it!

Now Chapter 39 will begin just as Chapter 38 began. The starting point will be the same, and

“Gog and Magog” will remain unchanged. And, “the Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel” will still be “the

twelve tribes of Israel.” However, we will have much additional information this time around, and so, it

Page 20: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

should provide more interest to the reader.

CHAPTER 39 (Part One) 1) AGAINST GOG, and TURN YOU AROUND. “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, ‘Thus says He Is Gods (myhla hwhy): “Look, I am against you, Gog, the prince of [Rosh] Meshech, and Tubal; and I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far north. and bring you against the mountains of Israel!”’’’ - Eze 39.1-2.

A) AGAINST GOG. (Compare: Ezekiel 38.1-9.) Ezekiel is reviewing his introduction to Chapter 38, and so, we will assign the same date, to this prophecy, and identify Gog and Magog to be the same person and country as before, and the “when and where” will remain unmolested. WHEN was after Ezekiel began to prophesy in 594 BC, and before the siege of Jerusalem in 590; while WHERE is on the Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel in Judaea. Our “Parallel Prophecies,” from the Introduction, and “Four Visits to Jerusalem,” have convinced us that “Gog” is “Nebuchadnezzar,” while “Magog” is the “land of Babylon.” The prophecy against Babylon is recorded by Isaiah and Jeremiah. (See: Isaiah 13.1, 13.9, 14.4, 21.9, and 47.1. Also compare Jeremiah 50.1, 50.8-10, 50.14-16, 50.18, 50.23, 50.28-29. 50.35, 50.42-43, 50.45-46; as well as Chapters 51 & 52.) Bring to mind our reasoning on this issue, that all three prophets (Ezekiel, Isaiah, Jeremiah) had common messages from God in which they condemned the Earth, and Egypt, and Israel, and Judah, and Moab, and Tyre. On the positive side, they all predicted Iesous’ fleshly ministry and a New Covenant. Therefore, our conclusion seems justified, that because Ezekiel condemned Gog and Magog, but not Babylon; and due to the fact that Isaiah and Jeremiah condemned Babylon, but not Gog and Magog; and because they are Parallel Prophecies; then -- GOG AND MAGOG = BABYLON! B) TURN YOU (GOG) AROUND.

Page 21: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

21

Nebuchadnezzar, or his delegates, came to Jerusalem in 601, making Jehoiakim a vassal (#1); and he came again in 599, deposing Jehoiakim and installing Jehoiachin (#2); and he returned in three months to depose Jehoiachin, and install Zedekiah as king of Judah (#3). Gog’s final return was the siege of Jerusalem, begun in 590, and finalized in 588 BC (#4). What Ezekiel seems to refer to by “turn you around,” is to bring Gog back from Babylon in 590 BC. He is described to be “led by God.” Moses and Joel and Isaiah and Jeremiah all make mention of “a nation from the north whose language you (Israel) do not understand.” Now we are back to where we started in regards to time and place in Chapter 38. 2) KNOCK THE BOW and BIRDS OF PREY. “Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall from your right hand. (You shall overwhelm [fall] on the Mountains [Kingdoms] of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you!) I will give you to the Birds [Nations] of prey of every sort and to the Beasts [Nations] of the field to be devoured” - Eze 39.3-4.

A) KNOCK THE BOW; a) “Wail, for the day of He Is (hwhy) is at hand! ... Therefore all hands will be limp ... they will be in pain as a woman in childbirth ... everyone who is found will be thrust through” - Isa 13.6, 8, 15; b) “Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his [in his] land ... How the hammer of the whole earth has been cut apart and broken” - Jer 50.18, 23; c) “Call together the archers against Babylon ... Therefore her young men will fall in the streets, and all her men of war will be cut off ....” - Jer 50.29-30; d) “And they will become like women ... The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting ... they become like women” - Jer 50.37, 51.30.

The Bible has several chapters dedicated to the fall of Babylon, especially Isaiah 13-14, and 21, and 47; and Jeremiah 50-51. We may easily recognize the similarity between “knock the bow” and “all hands limp.” Then “the hammer cut apart and broken” approximated the “bow knocked from the hand.” “Her men of war cut off,” and her men “like women” seems to picture a scene where the “bow is knocked out of the right hand.” CONSTANCY! The Bible is noted for constancy. Each and every prophet agrees with all other prophets. This constitutes the evidence that the Bible was written by God, along with the fulfillment of prophecy in our own lifetimes. (See: Exodus 7.17, Rev 10.7, 11.15.) Now, if we could only persuade the church to behave in this manner. B) DESCRIPTIVE PHRASES AND SENTENCES. THIS IS THE KEY TO THIS CHAPTER! It never ceases to amaze me, how my friends can follow the intricate plots of novels, and murder mysteries, and bizarre movies; but if God uses a descriptive phrase in the Bible -- it throws them for a loop! “Too deep!” says one. “Not meant to be understood,” replies another. We will review the basic principles of grade school grammar, and introduction to English literature, learned as little children. “Joe Torre, formerly from St. Louis, managed the New York Yankees to the World Series Championship.” Now then, the subject is Joe Torre (in New York), and the object is the World Series (in New York), and the descriptive phrase, “formerly of St. Louis,” does not confuse anyone. But, they cry, “Foul! Foul!” “That is only a phrase and not an entire sentence.” So what? The principle is the same. What about sentences in parentheses? The Bible is full of them. We could have left this sentence within the other sentence, but within parentheses. “... (You will overthrow on the Mountains [Kingdoms] of Israel) ...” The sentence, “You will overthrow on the Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel,” is consistent with the repetitive nature of the book; especially, Chapter 38: “on the Mountains of Israel” (Eze 38.8), and “against a people gathered from the nations [Egypt and Moab]” (Eze 38.12), and “against My people Israel” (Eze 38.16), and “spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel” (Eze 38.17), and “a great earthquake in the land of Israel” (Eze 38.19). We would do great violence to grammar, and all literature, to reverse the subject and the object in Chapter 39, as the expositors have done for centuries. Your grade school teachers would burn with shame. We have all of these precedents for Gog

Page 22: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

22

“overthrowing” the “Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel,” and no rational reason to believe that Gog “fell [stumbled] on the [literal] mountains of Israel.” [The reader should be aware that there is no history of Babylon “falling IN Israel.” This is true in both secular and in biblical history.]

But, woe to the Earth! (Meaning, New Jerusalem.) What do the expositors write about? Woe, woe, woe; three woes on the Earth! The Hebrew word for “fall, overthrow, overwhelm, present,” is “naphal” (Strong’s # 5307); a) “Therefore he lifted up his hand ... to overthrow (5307) them in the wilderness ... to overthrow their seed ...” - Ps 106.26-27. (Although “naphal” is primarily translated “fall,” the context justifies this interpretation, which is used by the King James Version, and the New King James Version. The Geneva Bible translates this word “destroy”); b) “Yea, you overwhelm (5307) the fatherless ...” - Job 6.27. (KJV and NKJV.)

But the Hebraism “to fall” is often used as describing “overthrow, overwhelm, destroy, kill;” even when other Hebrew words are employed to represent “fall.” Here are samples; c) “... fall upon (kill) the priest” (6293) - ISam 22.17-18; d) “Go near, and fall upon (kill) him” (6293) - 1Kin 2.29 & 31; e) “I will cause anguish and terror to fall on (kill) them suddenly” (5307) - Jer 15.8; f) “Israel ... I will not cause My anger to fall upon (kill) you” (5307) - Jer 3.12; e) “... and mischief will fall upon (kill) you: (5307) - Isa 47.11.

So then, we are all big kids now, and we understand that descriptive phrases and sentences are not to effect the sentence or paragraph that contains them. Praise the Lord for grade school teachers! Therefore we will conclude that Babylon overthrew (killed) the “(12) Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel” -- at Israel; and also that Babylon fell (died) at Babylon [[and, not in Israel]. The whole complexion of the picture is now clearer than the one painted by the Bible expositors. Especially those with the “2500 year gap theory.” C) BIRDS AND BEASTS; a) “Thus says He Is (hwhy) to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held -- to subdue nations before him ...” - Isa 45.1; b) “Bel bows down, Nebo stoops ... Declaring the end from the beginning ... calling a Bird of prey from the east [Persia, who was away from home, in the east], the man who executes My counsel ...” - Isa 46.10-11. Why do the churches not teach today that, “God declares the end from the beginning?” Something to think about! The Bird of prey was Cyrus, king of the Medes and the Persians. The prey of the Bird (Isa 46.1, 47.1) was Babylon -- at Babylon, and we may expect that the prey of the Bird is the same in Ezekiel (39.4), as it was in Isaiah; c) “And suddenly another Beast, a second, like a Bear (Persia) ... And they said thus to it, ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’” - Dan 7.5.

This is one, or all, of the Beasts of the field, although it came up out of the Sea, which is representative of the Gentiles. Surely, no one will quibble about a Bear being a Beast of the field, even though they prefer the woods. “The Medes and the Persians” are in the plural, and the nations may constitute more than one Beast. “Out of the east,” refers to their location in respect to Judah. But why does the prophet keep saying that the enemy of Babylon will come “from the north?” (See: Jeremiah 50.3, 9, 41, 48.) The Medes and the Persians were south of both Babylon and Judaea. All efforts to answer the question have been futile, but let me tell you an anecdote about this subject. Alexander the Great was from the north, respecting Persia, but the prophet, Daniel, said that he would come from the

Page 23: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

23

west. (See: Daniel 8.5.) The way the story goes, Alexander defeated Persia at Issus in 333 BC, and then went off to conquer Egypt. This was short work, and he returned from the west, to defeat Persia at Gaugamela in 331 BC. So then, God usually knows what He is talking about, and something similar may have happened with Cyrus. Please do not let any of the seducers weaken your faith with matters of this kind. A more thorough investigation of history than I was able to complete would probably produce a similar answer to Cyrus from the north. The same nation is symbolized as a Bird and as a Beast of the field. But then, God is our Maker, and He can do as He wills. These challenges are to provoke interest and to alleviate boredom. Birds and Beasts are employed consistently by the prophets of God to represent Nations. Daniel’s “Beasts of the field,” which came out of the Sea (Gentiles), are the Lion (Babylon), and the Bear (Persia), and the Leopard (Greece), and the “Beast with iron teeth” (Rome). Ezekiel’s two “Eagles” were Babylon and Egypt (Eze 17). Isaiah’s “ravenous Bird” was Cyrus, king of Media and Persia (Elam; Isa 46). The twelve tribes of Israel become a Lion’s Whelp (Judah), and a Deer (Napthali), and a Leopard (Rueben and Gad), and a Wolf (Benjamin), and a Fatling (Joseph); then, added to that, collectively the twelve tribes are described as an Ox, and a Lion; and Samaria is a Heifer (Cow). The reader may observe that there is no set pattern to the symbols, for a Lion is Babylon, and Judah, and all Israel. Therefore, the symbols must be identified by God -- somewhere. Then the context would distinguish between Babylon and Judah and all Israel for the Lion, and the other symbols are discerned in similar manner. Then, returning to our story, Cyrus had “done in” Babylon. 3) FIRE ON MAGOG; a) “You shall fall (die, #5307) on the open field ... And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live carelessly (#983) ... Then they shall know that I am He Is (hwhy) ... Surely it is coming, and it shall de done ... this is the day of which I have spoken” - Eze 39.5-8.

Ezekiel is rehearsing the same words presented in Chapter 38; b) “A sword against Gog ... Every man’s sword against his brother. And I will bring judgment with pestilence and bloodshed. I will rain down on him ... great hailstones (Death) , fire (Death) ...” - Eze 38.21-22.

Now we have Ezekiel, in Chapter 38, joining Isaiah and Jeremiah, as a Parallel Prophet of his own message in Chapter 39. The Hebrew word for “fall” is “naphal” (5307) which we translated “overthrow” in verse four. The three Parallel Prophets have consistently agreed about Gog being Nebuchadnezzar, and Magog being Babylon. Now we have four Parallel Prophets: Isaiah, and Jeremiah, and Ezekiel in Chapter 38, and then, Ezekiel in Chapter 39 will compare with the previous chapter. Please observe Isaiah’s testimony; a) “And everyone who is captured will fall (die; 5307) by the sword” - Isa 13.15; b) “Look, they shall be as stubble (a field), the fire (death) will burn them; they will not deliver themselves from the power of the flame” - Isa 47.14; c) “Therefore hear this now, who are given to pleasures, who dwell carelessly (983) ... in a moment, in one day; the loss of children and widowhood ...” - Isa 47.8-9.

Now hear Jeremiah’s prediction against Babylon; d) “Her whole land will be ashamed, and all her slain will fall (die; 5307) in her midst” - Jer 51.47.

Now we have a new experience in our investigation, for Ezekiel will parallel his own prediction. Gog is addressed as “you” in these verses, and so, we are left to determine who “they” will represent; “Then they will know that I am He Is (hwhy)” (Eze 39.6). “Know that I am He Is was scattered throughout the previous chapters of Ezekiel. (See: 6.7-14,11.11-12, 17.21,24; 20.12-42; 22.16,22; and many more)’

Page 24: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

24

e) “Yet there shall be left in her (Israel) a remnant who will be brought out ... and you shall know that I have done nothing without cause ...” - Eze 14.22-23; f) “This city shall not be your caldron, nor shall you be the meat in its midst, I will judge you at the border of Israel. And you shall know that I am He Is (hwhy) ...” - Eze 11.11-12; g) “... when I bring you out from the ... countries where you have been scattered; and I will be made holy in you before the Gentiles. Then you shall know that I am He Is (hwhy) ...” - Eze 20.41-42.

All of these verses, and many more in Ezekiel, seem to refer to the “fire on Magog,” which the Medes and the Persians brought about in 539 BC. The “remnant of Israel was brought out” by Cyrus, and he decreed to build a temple in Jerusalem. The remnant did not “boil as meat in the chaldron of Babylon,” but were restored to their land. God was “made holy,” in Israel before the Gentiles, and then the rebels of Israel knew He Is. (What is signified by, “made holy?” Did not He Is always remain holy? Yea, yea, and He is holy today too! But no one knows the Lord today! What seems to be intended is that God would be “made holy” in men’s hearts and minds. And we will be brought back from captivity again, [AD 2004-2015] and the Lord will be made holy in our minds too!) 4) BURN WEAPONS SEVEN YEARS. “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons both the shields and small shields, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years. They will not take wood from the field nor cut down any from the forests because they will make fires with the weapons; and they will plunder those who plundered them ...” - Eze 39.9-10.

The reader is encouraged to believe that he can comprehend the symbolism of God. Even children who are unable to decipher the prophets for themselves, are still competent to understand the message when a man of God explains it to them. First we must realize that “literal interpretation” is sin! The Great Teacher, Iesous the Anointed, has informed us that He teaches by parables (Mt 13). The apostle Paul adds to this the concept that the “natural man,” identified as the lost without the Holy Spirit, is in the dark; and “the things of the Spirit of God” are “spiritually discerned” (1Cor 2.14). Physicians are consulted for physical ailments, and mechanics are sought out for auto failures, and computer programmers are hired for creating software to meet certain operations on a computer. In light of these facts, it seems obvious that spiritual men are needed for “the things of the Spirit of God.” (But the humanists boast, in print, that they do not believe this fact, or any of the rest of the Bible.) So then, “literalism is sin!” And we will seek a spiritual message. First we will examine the time-frame of this “burning weapons.” A) SEVEN SHEPHERDS AGAINST THE ASSYRIANS; a) “And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of He Is (hwhy) ... and they shall remain, for He shall be great to the ends of the earth ... When the Assyrian comes into our land ... then we will raise against him seven shepherds and eight lower princes. They shall waste with the sword the land of Assyria ...” - Micah 5.4-6.

This prophecy ranges from the Assyrians until the fleshly ministry of Iesous. But then, who are the Assyrians? Consider these verses; b) “For I will rise up against them ... and cut off from Babylon the name and remnant ... And as I have purposed, so shall it stand: that I will break the Assyrian in My land, and on My mountains tread him underfoot. Then his yoke shall be removed from them (Jacob and Israel - 14.1) ...” - Isa 14.22, 24-25.

Micah testifies that “seven princes” will be against the Assyrian until Iesous comes. This statement is despite the fact that Assyria was annihilated in 612 and 609 BC. Then Isaiah equates Babylon with the Assyrian. But Babylon ceased to exist also, and so, the name must mean something besides just the country around Nineveh. Jeremiah groups Assyria and Babylon together also;

Page 25: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

25

c) “Look, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria” - Jer 50.18.

We will observe the seven shepherds, and possibly better understand what is being said by the prophets. Assyria is from Hebrew root words meaning, “step, go, going; successful, blessed.” These traits of the nations will be “tread down on My mountains.” Here is a possible list of the “seven” and of the “eight.” SEVEN SHEPHERDS EIGHT LOWER PRINCES 1. Cyrus II (539-30) 2. Cambyses II (529-21) 3. Darius I (520-486) 4. Xerxes I (486-65) 1. Artaxerxes I (465-24) 2. Darius II (424-04) 3. Artaxerxes II (404-358) 5. Artaxerxes III (358-38) 6. Alexander the Great (336-323) 4. Seleucus (323-280; Babylon ruined) 5. Antiochus I (280-61) 6. Seleucus II (247-26) 7. Antiochus III (223-187) 7. Augustus Caesar (27 BC - AD 14) 8. Pompeii (r., over Israel; 64-48 BC) THE GREAT SHEPHERD IS IESOUS THE ANOINTED (AD 28-32)

This seems to be the time-frame for the prophecy of Ezekiel, as it is for Isaiah and Micah and Jeremiah. Next we will identify the weapons: B) WEAPONS OF WOOD; a) “Woe to Assyria, the rod (wood) of My anger, and the staff (wood) in whose hand is My indignation. I will set against him (Jacob - 9.8) an ungodly nation (Assyria), and against the ‘people of My wrath’ (Judah). I will give him (Assyria) charge to seize the spoil, to take the prey ... For he (Assyria) says: ... As I have done to Samaria and her idols, will I not do also to Jerusalem and her idols?” - Isa 10.5-6, 8-11. b) “Therefore it shall come to pass, when He Is (hwhy) has performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, that He will say, ‘I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria ...’” - Isa 10.12.

The Lord had not performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem until the Babylonian captivity. Therefore He is grouping Assyria and Babylon together in Isaiah’s prophecy, and we shall assume, in Ezekiel’s prophecy also. We have identified Babylon to be represented by Assyria, and now we will observe the identification of the “weapons burned,” for symbolism is almost always employed in prophecy; c) “Shall the ax (handle of wood) boast itself against Him (Gods) who chops with it? ... As if a rod (wood) could wield itself against those who lift it up, or as if a staff (wood) could lift up, as if it were not wood! Therefore He Is (hwhy) ... will send leanness ... He will kindle a burning like the burning of a fire “ - Isa 10.15-16.

Ezekiel’s “weapons for burning,” throughout the land of Israel, for a period of seven years, seem to be symbolical for Gods’ “ax (with a wooden handle), and rod, and staff,” which were the nations of Assyria and Babylon, and we have equated them with Magog. This anger of He Is was described to be over, “when He has performed all His work on Jerusalem.” Therefore the “ravenous Bird from the east,” who was Cyrus, will complete Gods’ “performed work on Jerusalem.” These weapons of wood are similar to describing the Holy Spirit as “streams in the desert” (Isa

Page 26: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

26

35.6). It also resembles the overthrow of king Zedekiah as, “the sun shall be ashamed” (24.23). And the New Covenant is pictured for us as, “a New Heavens and a New Earth.” (Literalism is darkness.) Let us continue with Isaiah; d) “So the ‘Light of Israel’ (Gods) will be for a fire, and his (Israel’s) Holy One for a flame. It will burn and devour his (Assyria’s) thorns and his briers in one day. And it will consume the glory of his forest (kings) and of his fruitful field (all flesh is as grass), both body and soul ... And it shall come to pass in that day that the remnant of Israel ... will never again depend on him who defeated them, but will depend on He Is (hwhy)” - Isa 10.17, 18, 20.

We can see clearly that the “Assyrian” includes Babylon, or Magog. For Israel actually did depend on Babylon until liberated by the Medes and the Persians. Isaiah returns to the present time to exhort Israel concerning her torments; e) “My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He will strike you with a rod (wood) and lift up his staff (wood) against you, in the manner of Egypt (captivity). For yet a very little while and the indignation will cease (539, 518 BC), as will My anger in their (Assyria’s) destruction” - Isa 10.24-25.

Consistently, the weapons are described as wood that burns. This agrees with Ezekiel’s prophecy. But the weapons of the Lord were Assyria and Babylon, which were nations, and flesh and blood. The Bible student is familiar with “substitutionary” emblems, as the lamb for the “sin offering” was a substitute for the individual’s need to suffer death in the Old Testament. Then Iesous is the “substitutionary” offering for sin for us today. Look at what the son of Amoz says about substitution; f) “I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place” - Isa 43.3.

Then we have the symbols of animals for kingdoms, such as, Lion/Babylon, and Bear/Persia, and Leopard/Greece, and “Beast with iron teeth”/Rome. Therefore it is not surprising to exchange the weapons of wood (ax handle, rod, staff), which were employed by the Assyrians, for the nations that were God’s “rod,” against Israel. So then, Assyria and Babylon will be burned for seven years. Or, as Ezekiel prefers to say, “Magog will burn.” The Seven Shepherds are raised up to keep the Assyrians (and, Babylonians) out of the land until Iesous comes. Jeremiah also lists these weapons of wood like this; “battle-ax (with wooden handle) and weapons of war” (Jer 51.20). These “weapons of war” would include Isaiah’s “rod and staff” of wood. The three Parallel Prophets are in agreement about the weapons that can be burned (wood), and so, we may deduce that the enemies of Israel are the same; being Assyria, Babylon, and Magog. The threat is considered by Micah to continue until Iesous came. This is after both Assyria and Babylon are annihilated. The “Assyrians” are still coming against the land, but the Seven Shepherds and Eight Lower Princes will prevail, and “tread them down on the Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel.” Who are these “Assyrians?” We will dig into that later, but now we will observe the “seven years.” C) PERIOD OF SEVEN YEARS. Periods of prophecy are described to be one “unit” equal to a certain number of years, when they are not literally designated. The 400 Years and 430 Years were literal, being (2035-1635) and (2065-1635 BC). Paul confirms this point, that they were from “the promise to Abram to the law” (Gal 3.17). Then the 70 Years Captivity (588-518 BC) were also literal. But the 70 Sevens (Weeks) covered a period of one year for every “day” of prophecy, or 490 years. This was from 455 BC to AD 35.

(455 + 35 = 490.) Then Iesous also equated a day to one year;

a) “Look, I cast out demons and perform cures ‘today’ (AD 30) and ‘tomorrow’ (AD 31), and the ‘third’ day (AD 32) I will be perfected” - Lk 13.32.

Realistically, any number divisible by seven may be represented by “seven years.” But we are limited to God performing His work, and restoring Israel to their land. Cyrus began the period in 539 BC, and Darius I ended the job in his second year, which was a year of reign beginning in one year, and

ending in the following year (519/18 BC). And the day, and month, are supplied for us (Zec 1.7; “On the 24th day of the 11th month”). Here is our calculation: (539 - 518 BC = 21 years.) If this is “seven” prophetic years, then “one prophetic year” equals three calendar years. And the “weapons of wood,” the Assyrians were burned with fire; b) “Look, I will make My words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them” - Jer 5.14.

Whenever a prophet of God condemns a people, or a nation, they are “burned with fire.” This is Bible terminology. We have presented numerous quotes from Isaiah and Jeremiah and Ezekiel about the “Assyrians,” or “Magog,” being burned with fire. The prophecy is not really the fire, but the fulfillment “burns.” Babylon was “scorched” by Cyrus, and “baked” by Darius; just as our writers have all foretold. Therefore they were “burned” from 539 to 518 BC. And this is “seven prophetic years.” Ezekiel wrote this prediction between 594 and 590 BC, over 70 years before the fact! Now let us consider the burial. 5) SEVEN MONTHS BURYING BONES. “It will come to pass in that day that I will give Gog a burial place there IN Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the [Red] Sea; and it will obstruct travelers, because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude. Therefore they will call it the ‘Valley of the Multitude of Gog.’ For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land ... At the end of seven months they will make a search ... when anyone sees a man’s bone, he shall set a marker by it ... The name of the city will also be ‘Multitude.’ Thus they shall cleanse the land” - Eze 39.11-16.

Now the plot thickens, and our simplistic method of Parallel Prophecies will have to be improved by a wider selection of quotes throughout the Bible, even delving into the mysteries of the New Testament. But Iesous having made known much of the past interpretation, and He being endowed with the Seven Spirits of God, and promising us Wisdom (Jas 1.5) upon request, we have nothing to fear. However, it seems urgent at this time to explain “replacement interpretation.” This is from the Bible, and should be a satisfactory solution to our problems facing us in this text. Paul states it plainly: (#1) “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel” - Rom 9.6. (#2) “And so all Israel will be saved ...” - Rom 11.26. (#3) “Concerning the good message they (Israel) are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable” - Rom 11.28-29. (#4) “Even so then, at this present time (AD 58) there is a remnant according to the election of favor” - Rom 11.5. (#5) “Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved; for He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because Iesous will make a short work upon the Earth (Israel)” - Rom 9.27-28; quoting Isaiah 10.22-23.

We have a mathematical equation to solve our problem. (Mathematics is the most exact science known to man.) (1) Israel was divided! This is what Paul stated clearly (#1). (2) All of one part of Israel will be saved [future in AD 58], and the destruction of the rest is repeated by the prophets of God, even Iesous. Zechariah gives us a mathematical figure to work from: (#6) “‘And it shall come to pass in all the land,’ says He Is (hwhy), ‘that two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die’” - Zec 13.8.

This number (#6) represents Josephus’ record of 1,100,000 dying in the war with Rome (AD 66-74). Now we have the Bible and World History in perfect agreement. Iesous taught, “I come quickly” -- six times! And because all seven “called-out” (congregations) of Asia would be rewarded together; or, inherit the blessing together (see: Dan 12.12-13; Rev 1.3, 14.13, 20.6), then “ten days” is equal to

Page 28: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

28

“quickly” (Rev 2.10). Therefore Iesous came “ten days,” or ten years, after His Revelation was seen by John. This is in agreement with “this” generation shall not pass away,” and “some here shall not taste death,” and “the Judge is standing at the door,” and “the night is far spent, the day is at hand,” and “there are many antichrists whereby we know that it is the last hour.” (An “hour” usually represents 15 days or 15 years in prophecy.) But Paul has two Israels in the book of Romans! The first Israel is saved now (AD 58; Nos. 1 & 4 - above), and the third Israel is to be saved later (AD 77; Nos. 2 & 3 & 5 - above). We will let Paul explain this relationship between the first Israel and the second Israel in his own words: (#7) “For the earnest expectation of the Creation (Heaven & Earth = Israel) eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God (Called-out of Iesous) ... because the Creation herself (Israel) also will be delivered from bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God ... Not only that, but we also who have the ‘firstfruits’ of the Spirit, even we groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the Adoption (AD 77), the redemption of our body” - Rom 8.19-23. (First, second, and third Israel will be clarified in detail later.)

Once more, Paul emphasizes the existence of two Israels -- actually three! One is declared to be saved at the present time (#4). The third Israel is promised to be saved later (#7). And the second Israel is prophesied throughout the New Testament to perish, or else, survive the war while still in unbelief. Iesous’ coming on the clouds saved the first Israel, and some of the second Israel died in the war, while some survived. And the third Israel is promised the “glorious liberty of the children of God.” The Adoption, the revealing of the sons of God, removes all the saved from the earth. And it also is the instrument used to convert the third Israel. (#8) “Look, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him (third Israel). And all the (12) tribes of the Earth (Israel) will mourn because of Him. Even so, Truly” - Rev 1.7. (See also: Zec 12.10-14; “see Him ... whom they pierced.”) (#9) “... the Holy Spirit indicating this, that ‘The Way’ (Iesous) into the Holiest of All (Heaven) is not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle (see: vs 2) is still standing” - Heb 9.8.

Now we are better qualified to examine the text of Ezekiel. A) THE BURIAL OF GOG IN ISRAEL.

Redundancy is necessary to impress upon the reader’s mind that the Bible is not meant to be understood by the “natural man.” (See: 1Cor 2.14, 2Cor 3.14-16, Mt 13.14-15.) Iesous is trying to protect you from deceivers, and from the “teachings of men.” The nation of Israel was no longer a pure race of people, in fact, King Solomon had married hundreds of Gentile wives, and raised “groves,” or images to the foreign gods all over the land. Other accounts of the bastard race are presented below; a) “Judah has profaned the holy institution of He Is (hwhy) which He loves (marriage); he (Judah) has married the daughter of a foreign god” - Neh 9.2; see: 13.3; b) “The people of Israel and the priests ... the abominations of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with peoples of those lands” - Ezra 9.1-2.

What we have here is “replacement symbolism,” and the “bones of Magog” are now the “bones of Israel.” Please do not sin in your judgment, “He who answers a matter before he hears, it is folly and a shame to him.” What follows will justify this conclusion, especially Iesous’ words. The word “east” is predominantly used to refer to east of the Jordan River in the Bible, so that, a better paraphrase would be; c) “... the valley of those who pass by Jerusalem going east of the Salt Sea” - Eze 39.11.

This Valley of the Multitude of Gog, which is in the land of Israel, is in my opinion the Valley of Hinnom, which was south of the city of Jerusalem. (This is identified in most Bible maps.) And this

Page 29: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

29

would be the passage toward the east side of the Jordan River. Jerusalem used this valley for their trash dump, and to burn the bodies of the animals for sacrifices, when only a certain part was allowed for the offering in the temple. (See: Heb 13.11, Ex 29.14.) Added to this is the purpose of this valley to “burn their sons and daughters to Baal and Molech” (Jer 19.1-9, 2Ki 23.10). The fear of He Is would prohibit that we should suggest a change in the topic of the Bible without greater proof than what has been presented so far, but there is more to come. Now we should compare Ezekiel’s Valley of Bones, in Chapter 37. This was stated to be unrelated to Chapters 38 & 39 at the beginning of the book, but that was a case of letting the tongue run away unchecked. Now we will consider the relationship and see if the Valley of the Multitude of Gog, and the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and the Valley of Bones of Israel, are not all one and the same thing. B) THE VALLEY OF BONES (Eze 37); a) “ ... prophesy to the bones ... sinews and the flesh came upon them and skin covered them, but there was no Spirit (7307 - 232 Xs) ... and say to the Spirit ... come from the four Spirits (7307), Spirit, and breathe (5301) on those slain that they may live ... these bones are the whole house of Israel ... they indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off! Look, My people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel” - Eze 37.1-12. (Israel means, “he will rule as God” – Strong’s #3478.) Many commentators agreed that this is the restoration of Israel by Iesous the Lord. He is named as “My Servant David” twice in Chapter 37 (vss 24, 25). [See: Four Spirits, page 16.] And Iesous sent the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, as it is described here in symbolical terms. “I will open your graves.” What does this mean according to the Great Teacher, Iesous? ; b) “... the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live” - Jn 5.25.

Who are the dead? “Let the dead bury the dead, come and follow Me.” And, “Otherwise, what will they do who are dipped for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all?” We can see that this is a symbol for the lost. Iesous said, “the hour now is when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and live.” Many believe that this was at the beginning of Iesous’ fleshly ministry (AD 28-32). What do you think, AD 29? -- AD 30? Please note, this is about the “living dead!” They were converted by being “born out of water and of Spirit,” and the “living dead” became the “living believers,” or “servants of God.” What about the “believers in the grave” and the “dead-dead?” Iesous answered this too; c) “The hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth ... to the resurrection of life ... to the resurrection of condemnation” - Jn 5.28; d) “I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” - Jn 11.25.

Church doctors from many denominations, who are schooled in grammar, and some in Greek, have written, “The apostles expected Jesus to return in their lifetime. But we know that did not happen.” Yea, yea, the church doctors really write these things. And this is usually stated after confession that they believe the Bible is the “infallible word of God.” They do not really believe in the infallible word of God, or they would be afraid to teach that the apostles were wrong. Therefore, the “living dead” were saved before the resurrection in AD 77, and the “believers in the grave” and the “dead-dead” were judged after the resurrection. Did you notice? We did not mention the “living dead” being judged, or being killed! (Only the believers and the “dead-dead” were judged.) Some of these “living dead” are the “second and third Israel” that had been delivered “into the glorious liberty of the children of God,” after the resurrection in AD 77. Others remained in rebellion against God, and in unbelief. “For they are not all Israel that are of Israel.” Is the Valley of Bones really the Valley of the Multitude of Gog? Meditate on this subject, but let us continue with the Valley of Bones of Israel;

Page 30: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

30

e) “Then you shall know that I am He Is (hwhy), when I have opened your graves, My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live ... Then you shall know that I, He Is (hwhy), have spoken and performed ... take a stick ... ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel ...’ ... take another stick ... ‘For Joseph ... and for all the house of Israel ...’ Then join them one to another ... they will become one in your hand ... I will take the stick of Joseph ... with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand” - Eze 37.13-19.

THIS IS THE KEY TO THE RESURRECTION! Recall that Paul emphasized the division of Israel. “They are not all Israel that are of Israel.” Now Ezekiel is dogmatic about the unity of Israel. But, Praise the Lord! Zechariah tells both stories. If we believe that “every word of God is pure” (Prov 30.5), and “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2Tim 3.16), then we are left with only one alternative, and that is that both statements are true! In order for this to happen, “division” has to occur at one period of time, and “unity” at some other period of time. But let us not run ahead of Ezekiel’s story. Listen to Zechariah; f) “I dismissed the three shepherds in one month. My soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me ... And I took My staff, Beauty, and cut it in two that I might break the covenant ... with all the peoples ... so they weighed out for My wages thirty pieces of silver ... Then I cut in two My other staff, Bonds, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel” - Zec 11.8-14.

The three shepherds cut off in one month were Agrippa Posthumus, the son of Augustus Caesar, who was rejected in AD 2 by Augustus, and he recalled his stepson Tiberius from exile. The second shepherd was Augustus himself, who died in AD 14. The third, and final Shepherd, was Iesous the Anointed, the Savior of the whole world; “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” This was in AD 32. (AD 2 - 32 = 30 years; or, one month.) The Heavenly Father “loathed” Iesous because He became “sin who knew no sin” (2Cor 5.21). Iesous “abhorred,” meaning “feared,” His Father because He was afraid to die. (See: Heb 5.7). But our point to make is that God broke His covenant because the people had already broken it (Jer 31.32). And God broke the brotherhood between Israel and Judah, which is directly opposed to what Ezekiel prophesied. These events are related to Iesous’ fleshly ministry (30 pieces), and He and His servants were persecuted by Israel until the resurrection. Therefore in this section, Zechariah agrees with Paul. But he also has the opposite message; g) “My anger is against the shepherds ... For He Is (hwhy) will visit His flock, the house of Judah and will make them as His royal horse in the battle ... I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph (Israel). I will bring them back, because I have mercy on them ... I will sow them among the peoples, and they shall remember Me in far countries; they shall live, together with their children, and they shall return” - Zec 10.1-9.

This is the message of Ezekiel, in Chapter 37, about Israel becoming one. And this happened after the resurrection; and after “seeing Him whom they pierced.” On the earth Israel was still two nations, one serving Iesous, and the other continuing in their denial of the promised Anointed One. In the New Testament, Paul is the writer describing the conversion of Israel after the resurrection. But he has also emphasized the division between the nation of Israel and the New Jerusalem, the spiritual Israel. “They are not all Israel that are of Israel.” The prophets harping about “a remnant shall be saved,” seems to apply to those saved after the resurrection. (By the way, we have four resurrections in the Bible, three of them are listed together: 1Cor 15.23-24.) The “gathering again a second time” of the Israelites was explained by Iesous; h) “Moreover the light of the Moon will be as the light of the Sun, and the light of the Sun will be sevenfold ...” - Isa 30.26.

But Ezekiel will come to this later in the chapter. Information of this sort is necessary to understanding the Valley of Bones, and the Valley of Hinnom, and the Valley of the Multitude of Gog. And our conclusion is that they all represent the nation of Israel both before and after Iesous came to save

Page 31: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

31

them. God, in His great Love and Mercy and Wisdom, has described the Valley of Bones for us with the means to identify the “seven months of burying the bones.” Isaiah will tell us about this event of “seven months.” C) THE PERIOD OF SEVEN MONTHS; a) “‘For as the New Heavens and the New Earth which I will make shall remain before Me,’ says He Is (hwhy), ‘So shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,’ says He Is (hwhy). ‘And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, and their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh’” - Isa 66.22-24.

Daniel’s 70 Weeks are interpreted for us by Isaiah, and this dogmatizes the 70th Week; which many like to isolate to corrupt the interpretation. We have no other period of prophecy in the Bible that is split up, and it is foolish to suppose that the 70 Weeks are divided. Zechariah has explained to us, that “three shepherds were cut off in one month” (AD 2-32). And, Iesous was the third of the three shephers, “in the midst of the week” (Dan 9.26-27). The 70 Weeks is dated from the “going forth of the commandment to build the walls of Jerusalem” (Dan 9.25). This is described by Nehemiah to be in the “20th year of Artaxerxes” (r. 465-424). Finding nothing to contradict, we assign a co-reign of nine years (474-465 BC). Then the 20th year is 455 BC. (474 - 19 = 455 BC.) The 69th Week would end at the beginning of Iesous’ ministry in the “fifteenth year of Tiberius,” in AD 28. (455 BC + 28 years = 483 years; or, 69 Weeks.) The 70th Week would be from AD 28 to 35. This began about October the first, and three and one-half years would be at the Passover, about April the first. Iesous’ ministry continued while He was training Paul to become an apostle, and some feel it continued until He had added the Gentiles to the kingdom. What Isaiah has done for us, is to identify the “seven months” as “seven years” of Iesous’ ministry on earth. “All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” seems to mean Jews and Gentiles, which includes “all flesh.” Therefore, the household of Cornelius, and his friends, were added to the kingdom during this seven year period, ending in AD 35. And “they,” which seems to mean all flesh worshipping God, “shall go forth and look upon the corpses,” which correspond to the Valley of the Multitude of Gog. And the good message of Mark, describes Iesous’ ministry in almost the same exact words. Decide for yourself; b) “If your (right) hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to Hell (geenna), into the fire that shall never be quenched -- where ‘Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched’” - Mk 9.43-44.

The story continues about cutting off your “foot,” and “plucking out your right eye.” Iesous was addressing the Body of Israel. The right half of the Body is diseased, and they are to follow the left side of the Body. We will go at this backwards, and discuss the left side of the Body first, steering clear of the diseased side. Here is the “left eye”; c) “... the life manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life who was with the Father and was manifested (made evident) to us --” - 1Jn 1.2; d) “But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you” - Acts 26.16.

We can all see that the “left eye” represents the apostles, and then, the “right eye to be plucked out,” is the scribes and Pharisees. The left hand is presented by Iesous like this; e) “... for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was in prison and you came to Me” - Mt 25.35-36.

Page 32: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

32

Although the “Social Gospel” is praise worthy, and commanded by Iesous, this also has a spiritual meaning. The Bread of Life is food, and the Holy Spirit is Living Water, which if you drink you will never thirst again; and then, “For as many of you as were dipped into the Anointed have put on the Anointed,” represents “clothing” the poor; also more men are spiritually sick than physically ill; and the wide gate leads to the prison house of darkness, and few are the beacons of light today. The “right hand and eye” are described by Zechariah for us; f) “Woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock! A sword shall be against his arm and against his right eye. His arm shall completely wither, and his right eye shall be totally blinded” - Zec 11.17.

Iesous’ message to the house of Israel was against warfare, which they entered into anyway for their total ruin. His message was against the scribes and Pharisees, who were totally blinded, and unable to lead anyone. Those who failed to heed Him, and who did not pluck out their right eye (Pharisees) and cut off their right hand (warfare), were in the Valley of Hinnom; or, in “geenna,” which is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word. And the Lord, along with the saved, “went forth and looked on their corpses,” although they still had the breath of life, nevertheless, they were dead because they lacked the Spirit of God. But, where, and how, did they bury the bones? D) THE BURIAL PLOT; a) “Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain by a sword or who has died, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days” - Num 19.16; b) “So you shall not pollute the land where you are, for blood defiles the land ...” - Num 35.33; c) “... And the land was polluted with blood” - Ps 106.38.

The Valley of the Multitude of Gog has “defiled” and “polluted” the land of Israel, being full of dead men’s bones. Iesous and His apostles “cleansed the land” for “seven months” (AD 28-35), by burying these bones of the dead people. The sons of Jacob represent the Multitude of Gog, and the burial ceremony is described; d) “Truly, I say to you, unless one is born out of water and of Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” - Jn 3.5-6; e) “Therefore we were buried with Him through dipping into the death that just as Anointed (Cristoj) was raised from the dead ... even so we also should walk in newness of life” - Rom 6.4; f) “In Him you were also circumcised ... by putting off the body of sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of the Anointed (tou Cristou), buried with Him in dipping, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of the God (tou Qeou)” - Col 2.11-12.

Here we see the picture of the burying of the dead man’s bones to cleanse the land. (Isn’t God tricky?) “Raised from the dead” corresponds to Ezekiel, Chapter 37, where the “dry bones” received “sinews and skin” (Eze 37.8). Ezekiel, as is usually the case in prophecy, relates part of the story, but not all. He tells of the burial, but not of the “raising to newness of life.” Although he adequately describes the restoration of Israel, so that many expositors have understood, nevertheless, he does not connect burying in Chapter 39 with raising. But then, if he had made it plain, we would not have had any fun, would we? However, the Bible is one story, as we all know, and the time period of “seven days,” mentioned by Isaiah (66.22), is the determining factor. His “one month” (AD 2-32), and “one week” (AD 28-35), agree with Daniel’s 70th Week, and with Ezekiel’s “seven months,” so that we could not miss the obvious connection had we tried. Therefore, because most prophecy is about Iesous, and since the Lord and His apostles were “dipping for forgiveness of sins” at this time period, we conclude that this is the message intended by Ezekiel. Also, the absence of any other historical event that even closely resembles this symbolism, enforces our confidence in our conclusion. This beats the “2500 year gap theory!” The Lord God Almighty is out to save the world from sin, and so, the saving process is recorded in unmistakable terms. This saving process is the message of the prophecy. All confusion stems from the adherence to the “teachings of men,” instead of the “teaching of the Anointed.” (The Bible is the only authority in the Body. This is an old Reformation Movement motto.) Here are the rules, plain and

Page 33: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

33

simple; g) “And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he dipped him. Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit ... caught Philip away ...” - Acts 8.38-39; h) “When they heard, they were dipped in the name of the Lord Iesous (Ihsouj). And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied” - Acts 19.5-6.

The book of Acts had already established the need for prayer with the laying on of hands (Acts 8.15-17). In summary, a few selected steps to salvation are in this order: (1) They cleanse the temple of the Holy Spirit by being “born out of the water;” (2) Then the apostle, or some of the first 120 students, pray for the convert to receive the Holy Spirit; (3) Finally, the souls seeking salvation receive the “gift of the Holy Spirit” by the “laying on of hands.” We all know that witnessing, and faith, and repentance, and obedience are part of this operation. (This disproves the Baptists’ “Christian Experience.”) We have confusion in the world today, over this simple process, because of the men in the Bible who were converted directly by God. These men were “saved backwards.” But this process is directly from God, and not through servants of God. The “backwards” process is not intended to be taught by the Body of the Anointed. Cornelius and Saul are the only two “saved backwards.” They were spoken to by God first, or an angel, before the servants of God were directed to teach them about Iesous and His saving blood. Therefore, God instructed Peter and Ananias to speak to these men, after He had already contacted them. Cornelius received the Holy Spirit while Peter was teaching him about Iesous. Saul was healed by the hands of Ananias, and received the Holy Spirit at the same time; but was dipped later. Anyone should be able to comprehend the apostles’ method of saving men, and God’s “backwards” operation for special occasions. Cornelius was special due to the fact that he was the first Gentile saved. Saul was special because he was called to be an apostle of the Gentiles, and was not with Iesous in the flesh.. All other examples in the Bible have dipping first, and receiving the Spirit after the temple is cleansed. Listen to Peter, on the day of Pentecost; h) “Repent, and let everyone of you be dipped in the name of Iesous Anointed (Ihsou Cristou) for the forgiveness of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” - Acts 2.38. The Pope invented Infant Baptism to deceive the simple. And, many Protestant denominations chose to hang on to this perversion. The Pope also teaches that men receive the Holy Spirit when they are “baptized.” But the apostles were born of the Spirit (Acts 2.3) three years after they were dipped for forgiveness of sins (#1). The Samaritans received the Holy Spirit (Acts 8.17) about 24 hours after they were dipped by Philip (#2). The servants of John received the Spirit (Acts 19.6) immediately after they were dipped by Paul (#3). And finally, some who were dipped (Jn 6.60) never received the Spirit at all (#4 - Jn 6.66). Therefore, we may take Iesous at His word, this is the proper order: “born out of water [#1] and of Spirit [#2]” (Jn 3.5). Then the “gift of the Holy Spirit” was prophesied to fail/cease/vanish away, “after that which is perfect has come” (1Cor 13.8-10). The “perfect” prophesy came to John on Patmos in AD 67. The resurrection followed in “ten days” (Rev 2.10), and the “gift of the Holy Spirit” was history. If we still had the “gift” today, then men would still raise the dead as Peter and Paul did in the First Century. But even then, men received the Seven Spirits of God through the prayer of Faith. [1] Iesous prayed (Lk 3.21) and received the Seven Spirits (Lk 3.22, Isa 11.1-4). [2] Paul prayed that the congregation of Ephesus would be filled with the Spirits of Wisdom and Revelation and Knowledge (Eph 1.16-17). [3] Paul also prayed for the congregation at Phillipi that they would be enlightened with the Spirits of Love and Knowledge and Discernment (Php 1.9). [4] Paul again intercedes for the congregation at Colossi that they would be blessed with the Spirits of Knowledge, and Wisdom, and Spiritual Understanding.

The Seven Spirits are: Love, Faith, Knowledge, Forgiveness, Wisdom, Atonement, and Adoption. However, the “gift of the Holy Spirit” had others, such as, Healing and Tongues. [5] Finally, James instructs anyone to pray for Wisdom (Jas 1.5). And, we may conclude that the other six Spirits are received in the same manner. This has been a necessary digression, to encourage the weak in Faith, and to expose the deceivers of the simple. But now, getting back to Ezekiel’s story, they buried the “bones of

Page 34: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

34

Magog” (Israel) by “dipping for forgiveness of sin.” So then, “dipping in water” = “burying the dead bones.” The burying of the bones of Magog “cleansed” the land (Eze 37.23, 39.12). The apostles state it in these words; I) “... but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration (burial) and renewing of the Holy Spirit” - Titus 3.5; j) “... the blood (buried by dipping) of Iesous Anointed (Ihsou Cristou), His Son, cleanses us from all sin” - 1Jn 1.7; k) “To Him who loved us and washed us (burial) from our sins in His own blood” - Rev 1.5.

Besides these testimonies of mercy received in the past, we also have commandments to go and bury in the future. (See: Mt 28.19-20, Mk 16.15-16, Lk 24.46-47, Jn 21.15-17, Acts 1.8.) The “seven months” of Ezekiel (39.12), and “one week” of Daniel (9.27), and “one week” of Isaiah (66.22), were all fulfilled by AD 35; l) “The sound of noise from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of He Is (hwhy) (Iesous; see: Col 1.15: “Who Is”; oj estin), who fully repays His enemies” (Isa 66.6).

The shepherds of Israel were expecting the Anointed before Iesous made his appearance in the temple as the Great Teacher. They had probably calculated Daniel’s 70 Weeks properly. Simeon was promised that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Anointed (Lk 2.26). Priests and Levites asked John if he were the Anointed, but he denied it. He also denied being Elijah, but Iesous taught that he was truly Elijah in the spirit of that prophet. Then the priests asked if John were “the Prophet” (Deut 18.15), but this was denied too. Everyone expected Him (Iesous), but few received Him! And this is the tale of the “seven months.” Now Ezekiel’s prophecy continues past the “seven months.” E) THE END OF SEVEN MONTHS. Ezekiel has proven himself to be a prophet of God, for all events predicted fall into a perfect historical, chronological pattern. This is not always true in the Bible, for some prophecies fade in and out between two or three scenes, even having “flashbacks” to Egypt frequently. But this has been linear prophecy, beginning before 590 BC, and bringing us to AD 35 in perfect order. How much farther the prophecy will take us remains to be seen. Iesous is a Prophet of God too! His Revelation has been just as accurate as any other prophet’s work. Iesous’ Revelation has been more prolonged into the future than Ezekiel’s proved to be. Both prophets, Ezekiel and Iesous, have endured scrutiny of short-term and long-term predictions; and both have passed the test. Gog and Magog are the type in Ezekiel, as Gog and Magog are the antitype in Revelation. Prophecy is always about the future, although sometimes it sets the scene for commencement in the past. Ezekiel proves this by talking about Israel in captivity to Egypt, and coming up to the present day, and then progressing into the future. (See: Eze 23.21.) The prophets of God have three principle traits: (1) Immediate Message (usually, ‘Repent!’), (2) Short-term Prophecy, and: (3) Long-term Prophecy. (And, in special cases they include past history.)

Ezekiel wrote, “the word of He Is came expressly to Ezekiel” (1.3). Iesous declares, “The Revelation ... which God gave Him” (1.1). The Old Testament prophets had messages “which God gave them!” Anyone who confesses belief in the Old Testament prophets, but not in the Son of God has been deluded, and is lacking in Faith. This “No prophecy” teaching is from “Gog and Magog” (Rev 20.8) today! Now we shall examine Ezekiel’s words about the end of “seven months,” which we have identified to be from AD 28 to 32. Does history confirm the prediction? (1) AT THE END. We will assume that our former calculations have been correct, and this indicates AD 35, the end of “confirming the covenant for one week” (AD 28-35). “And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them (Cornelius and friends), as upon us (apostles) at the beginning (Pentecost). Then I remembered the word of Lord (Kuriou), how He said, ‘John indeed dipped with water, but you shall be dipped with the Holy Spirit.’ If therefore the God (O Qeoj) gave

Page 35: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

35

them the same gift as us when we believed on the Lord Iesous Anointed (ton Kurion Ihsoun Criston) ... who was I that I could withstand the God? (ton Qeon) ...‘Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life’” - Acts 11.15-18.

Saul was made an apostle, beginning in Chapter 9, and the Gentiles had been added to the kingdom in Chapter 11. Now the “seven months” was ended. As we examine the death of the nation of Israel, due to unbelief, please consider whether or not the church today is in the same boat. If it is, you need to do something about the situation. The Israelites, at this time, were scattered throughout the entire Roman Empire. The Jews assembled at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost were from: Parthia, Media, Elam (Persia), Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, Libya, Rome, Crete, and Arabia (Acts 2.9-11). Five of these Roman provinces were in Asia Minor. This is termed the “Dispersion” by many writers. Next Ezekiel notes “men set apart.” (2) MEN SET APART. Will history confirm the assignment of “searchers” to bury the “bones of Magog” (Israel), and cleanse the land? This is a “Yes” and “No” proposition. Literally,“No.” But then, the Bible is not interpreted literally. Symbolically, “Yes.” The Bible records no effort of this kind in physical Israel. But then, we have just noted that the people of Israel resided in fifteen different countries. The “searchers” were sent to these countries. This is “replacement symbolism,” as the bastard race of Jews became the “land of Magog” earlier in our discourse. Here is the assignment of “searchers” for the bones of dead men in the land; a) “Now in the ‘From Calling’ (ek klhsiav) that was at Antioch ... were ... prophets and teachers: Son of Prophecy (Barnabas), Simeon ... Lucius of Cyrene, Manean ... and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord (tw Kuriw) and fasted, the Holy Spirit (to pneuma to agion) said, ‘Now separate to Me (the) Son of Prophecy and Saul for the work to which I have called them’” - Acts 13.1-2; b) “And so Son of Prophecy took Mark ... to Cyprus; but Paul chose Silas ... and he went through Syria and Cilicia strengthening the ‘called-outs’ (ek klhsiaj)” - Acts 15.39-41; c) “But thanks be to the God (tw Qew) who puts the ... care for you into the heart of Titus ... who was also chosen by the ‘From Callings’ (ek klhsiwvn) to travel with us with this gift ...” - 2Cor 8.16, 19.

Now the “searchers for the bones of dead (lost) men” have been duly “set apart.” The first quote is probably dated shortly after AD 35, while the second is several years later, and the third quote follows by a few more years. Iesous’ commandment to, “Go, making students of all nations ... dipping them (burial) in the name ... teaching them to observe ...” (Mt 28.19-20), had now been obeyed in Israel. The apostle Paul was sent to the Gentiles. The point has been established, in Acts and in letters of Paul, that he made a habit of teaching the Jews first, wherever he went, visiting their synagogues. This often led to beatings and imprisonment. Further proof that a “search” was conducted is supplied by these quotes; d) “... explaining and demonstrating that the Anointed (ton Criston) had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, ‘This, is the Anointed (O Cristosj), Iesous (Ihsouj) whom I proclaim to you..’ And some of them were persuaded ...” - Acts 17.3-4. (Persuasion led to dipping [burial].) e) “Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed ...” - Acts 17.10-12.

(Believing would lead to dipping [burial].)

The “searchers” had been “set apart” to bury the “bones of Magog and cleanse the land.” This commenced after the “seven months.” Sounds as though Ezekiel knew what he was talking about all along. (The word of God is infallible in its original form. Any errors are copyists mistakes, or the

Page 36: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

36

corruptions of translators -- usually for political purposes.) Now we must seek “markers by the bones in the land of Israel.” Will we find them? No doubt! (3) SET A MARKER BY A BONE. Paul undertakes this task verbally. Once you are schooled to “mark a dead man,” the task is easily accomplished; that is -- unless the seducer of the people gets to them first. Paul endeavors to make one and all aware of who is “dead,” and who is “alive.” And he emphasizes that the Devil is in the assembly too! (See: 1Cor 11.19. The congregation of my youth schooled me in this art of spotting the “dead men,” but today that is passé.) For the Gentiles, the keeping of the law of Moses is to “fall from favor,” or the “marker on the bones”; a) “You observe days and months and seasons and years. I am afraid for you, lest I have labored in vain” - Gal 4.10-11; b) “You have become estranged from [favor] of the Anointed (tou Cristou), you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from favor” - Gal 5.4; c) “So let no one judge (find) you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths ...” - Col 2.16.

Although this is stated negatively, in that, it describes the saved “marrying a woman (Israel) who is divorced;” and is condemned as “adultery” (Mt 5.32); nevertheless, the “marker” on the bones is also stated positively; d) “... which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar -- for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children -- but Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all” - Gal 4.24-26.

It does not get any clearer than that! The positive identification of the “bones of Magog” is Jerusalem and her children, who live in all the nations quoted in Acts (2.9-11). But the “bones of the dead man” are not restricted only to the Jews. There are other sinners to avoid also. The Gentiles are “marked” for burial as well as the Jews who denied Iesous. Even the Jewish teacher, Philo, from Alexandria, is reported to have attempted to harmonize the law with the Greek philosophers. Greek mythology is represented symbolically in the Bible. Below is the judgment on the lifestyle of the Greeks before they learned of Iesous, and His saving blood; e) “And you (Greeks) He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you walked ... according to the ‘prince of the power of the air,’ the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience” - Eph 2.1-2.

“His [Zeus’] principle attributes were the thunderbolt, scepter, throne, scales, and eagle.” Therefore the “thunderbolt and eagle” disclose the identity of the ‘prince of the power of the air’ for the discerning man. This description is about Zeus, the Greek god. The “marker” is by the bones. But that is not all! The Man of Sin, called “Zeus-nourishing” (Diotrephes) is also given away by this marker on the prince of the power of the air. (You can see the need for discretion, and symbolic terms, in order to avoid Civil War by antagonizing the nation’s religious people, dedicated to paganism.) As Zeus had an oracle where men could petition the priest for answers to questions of importance, in like manner, the Man of Sin claimed to be an oracle of God;

f) “... I will further explain to you the subject about which I have begun to speak ... especially if the Lord reveals anything to me” - Ignatius.

The Man of Sin was a “marked” man even before John, “who restrains,” was banned to the Isle of Patmos in AD 66. Now we have three categories of “dead men’s bones:” the Jews, the Gentiles, and the Man of Sin in the assembly. As Ezekiel has prophesied, so the apostles have done. The “markers” are all set in place, and next we are confronted with finding the city called, “Multitude.”

Page 37: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

37

(4) THE CITY NAMED “MULTITUDE.” This is described symbolically many times by the prophets. But confusion would result from the failure to distinguish between the city before the resurrection, in AD 77, and the description of New Jerusalem, or, New Heaven and New Earth, which was after the resurrection. We have observed how Paul tells that Israel would be saved by beholding the resurrection, and Iesous mentions this fact too, in Matthew (24.40-41). The inclusion of New Heavens (Isa 65.17, 66.22), and of the “Sun and Moon” (Isa 60.19-20), and of “vengeance” (Isa 59.17, 61.2, 63.4), meaning the war with Rome and the destruction of the temple, fall into the period following the resurrection and the war. But here is a suggested list of portrayals of the city called “Multitude” before the resurrection: Isa 54.7-10, 49.5-6; 55.12-13; 56.4-8; 61.1-3. Observe an example; a) “Rejoice, O barren, you who do not bear! Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor! For the desolate (Gentiles) has many more children than she (Israel) who has a Husband (God). Enlarge the place of your tent, and they will stretch out the curtains of your dwellings. Do not spare, lengthen your cords ... For you will expand to the right and to the left, and your seed will inherit the nations (Gentiles) ...” - Isa 54.2-3.

What do you think? Is this the city called “Multitude?” If not, it is awfully close to it! How do we know that this refers to Israel? Consider this statement; b) “For your Maker is your Husband, He Is (hwhy) of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel ...” - Isa 54.5.

In summary, we have seen that all of the conditions prophesied by Ezekiel have been fulfilled in the Bride of the Anointed before the resurrection. These conditions are stated to be: (1) The End of “Seven Months,” and (2) Men Set Apart to Search, and (3) Set a Marker By the Bones, and finally, (4) A City Named “Multitude.” Things are rolling right along. Everything is falling into place like clockwork. We will divide Chapter 39 at this juncture to shorten the chapter. Now seems the appropriate time to discuss the four resurrections in the Bible. The Pope is the reason for darkness on this subject, because he teaches that you are only allowed to have two resurrections. And men have believed him for centuries. The Protestant and Ecumenical doctrines of two resurrections only had its origin with the Pope in the Dark Ages when there was “Continental retardation in Europe from AD 500-1000.” This definition of the Dark Ages is courtesy of Webster’s Dictionary, 1970. And -- we are still in the Dark Ages, for all men believe in only two resurrections, except the Premillennials. Three of these resurrections are listed together;

c) “For as in the Adam [in the flesh], all die, so also in the Anointed (tw Cristw) [in the Spirit] all will be made alive. But each in the order of self: Anointed (Cristoj) firstfruits (#1), then the [ones] of the Anointed (tou Cristou) at the coming of Him (#2). Then the end, when He delivers the kingdom to the God (tw Qew) and Father (Patri) (#3)” – 1Cor 15.24.

The Pope teaches that we separate the resurrection of the righteous from the resurrection of the unrighteous. Then (get this!), the kingdom is the resurrection of the unrighteous! Therefore, we combine numbers two and three, making them only one, and then -- Eureka! God’s three equals the Pope’s two. (3 = 2.) But Daniel (12.2), and Matthew (25.32), declare that the righteous and the unrighteous are resurrected together. Iesous teaches the same thing in Revelation (20.11-15). All four of these resurrections are in Iesous’ Revelation: (1) Iesous (Rev 1.5, 18), (2) Heaven and Earth [Israel] and Down Under the Earth [Gentiles] (Rev 5.13), (3) The First Resurrection of Those Beheaded (Rev 20.4-6), (4) The Sea (of glass) Gave Up the Dead [saved], and the Death and the Hell Gave Up the Dead [lost] in them (Rev 20.13).

Page 38: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

38

The Bible is the only authority in the Body of the Anointed! The Pope, and his terrible mathematics, do not have any authority for believers. The four resurrections are dated as follows: (A) Iesous our Lord was resurrected in AD 32. He began His ministry in “the fifteenth year of Tiberius,” which was in AD 28. (Church doctors change this date to agree with the Pope’s teaching that Iesous appeared when he was exactly thirty years old. But the Bible records that He was not exactly thirty years old! See: Luke 3.23.) Then four Passovers later, Iesous was crucified and resurrected in AD 32. (B) The resurrection of “Heaven and Earth” (Israel) was “ten days” (Rev 2.10) after Revelation was written, in AD 67. Then it was “45 days” (Dan 12.7-13) after “I cut off three shepherds in one month” (Zec 11.8). These three shepherds were: Agrippa Posthumus (AD 2), and Augustus Caesar (AD 14), and Iesous the Anointed (AD 32). Therefore: (1335 days - 1290 days = 45 days. AD 32 + 45 Years = AD 77.) (C) The first resurrection of those beheaded is described to be before the “first bowl of the wrath of God.” “And I saw something like a Sea of Glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the Beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of this name, standing on the Sea of Glass, having harps of God” - Rev 15.2.

The “first bowl of wrath” has been identified by many men of God to represent the French Revolution, begun in AD 1789. Therefore they were resurrected before then. In Chapter 4, the “Sea of Glass is like pure crystal.” This time, “the Sea mingled with fire” represents the persecution of the Pope, by which they were beheaded. (D) The third resurrection in Corinthians (15.23-24), and the fourth resurrection overall, is dated by the following verses; a) “... delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must king till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death” - 1Cor 15.24-26; b) “Then the Death and the Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the Second Death” - Rev 20.14.

This third resurrection mentioned in Corinthians, and the fourth resurrection of them all, will be at the End of Time. We know that all rule has not been ended, and we are also aware that death has not been destroyed as of yet. Therefore, there is a resurrection awaiting for men of today. Besides these facts, Isaiah and Peter have prophesied a New Heaven and a New Earth, which is to follow the destruction of Jerusalem. Then Daniel prophesies about the Papacy, the “little horn,” which fell in AD 1870. Joel also mentions the Papacy, when “The sun (Pope) and moon (Papacy) grow dark” (Joel 3.15).

Page 39: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

39

CHAPTER 39 (Part Two)

The promised Redeemer has come to Israel, and she knew Him not. “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” And, we may add from the Bible, that our Maker is capable of fury too, when provoked to wrath. Therefore, the logical deduction would be to anticipate an outpouring of the wrath of God on the children of disobedience in the next section of Ezekiel’s prophecy. [And, the reader should bear in mind that this applies to him also, if he is in a state of disobediece.] But seeking Wisdom, and not glory for ourselves, we will withhold judgment until the text is properly comprehended. However, this subject of the vengeance of God is a good place to begin our search for Understanding. If this fails, we will considers other options. So then, we will examine the “words” of Ezekiel as they appear elsewhere in the Bible. However, we shall expect a future message, and not a backward prophecy, for this prediction of the future has been progressing steadily onward toward its appointed goal. The “words” encountered will have been used to depict the woes of ages past, but we are not concerned with that now. How did they apply to Ezekiel’s day, and future generations? The power of God is beyond the imagination of man, especially those men who say that every symbol can have only one meaning. God uses the word “woman” to describe Israel, and Babylon, and the Two Covenants (Zech 5.9). In fact, any nation is considered to be both a “woman” and a “daughter” of the original woman. Therefore, “the feast of God,” and “My table,” may likewise apply to more than two events, and also to numerous nations. The prophecy is future oriented, and no like description of the past generations will fulfill this prophecy. We have a whole new ball game! 1) BIRDS AND BEAST. “Speak to every sort of Bird (Nation) and to every Beast (Nation) of the field; ‘Assemble yourselves and come. Gather together ... to My sacrificial meal ... on the (12) Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood’” - Eze 39.17.

A) BIRDS AND BEASTS. We have encountered the “feast of God” before in verse four. At that time, Gog and Magog were given to “the Birds and the Beasts to be devoured.” Jeremiah uses the phrase often to depict the ordeal of Judah at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar. (See: Jer 7.33; 15.3; 16.4 19.7; 34.20.) The result of Jeremiah’s use of the terms “Birds and Beasts” verifies the significance of the words in Ezekiel’s prediction. However, the subject, or subjects, to be devoured are yet to be determined. What happened after AD 35? a) “For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together” - Mt 24.28; b)“... and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; and it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet” - Dan 7.7.

The Lord Iesous (Mt 24) was speaking of Titus and the Roman army, in the first quote about “eagles,” and about destroying Jerusalem, and burning the temple. Josephus and Tacitus and Suetonius, Jewish and Roman historians, all make mention of the standards of Roman legions, topped with “eagles.” They also inform us that the Roman soldiers bowed down to the “eagles.” Iesous follows this quote with “the sun darkened,” which was the death of Antipas (Rev 2.13), who was “My faithful martyr.” This does not mean that he was saved. As Assyria was “My rod,” and Nebuchadnezzar was “My servant,” and Cyrus was “My anointed;” in like manner the death of Antipas was the fulfillment of prophecy, and was ordained to be. Therefore, because he was in the war with Rome, and the believers had “fled to the mountains,” he was merely “faithful” to the prophecy; but probably not to God. [But then, the reader is

Page 40: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

40

capable of making that determination.] Josephus described Antipas as of “the royal lineage,” and tells of John of Gischala murdering him in Jerusalem. (“Satan’s throne [Rev 2.13] was Jerusalem.) The beast in Ezekiel, and the beast in Daniel are one and the same: Rome! The birds in Ezekiel and the Eagles in Matthew are synonymous; and they are listed by Josephus to be; c) “... and there finding his father, together with the two legions, the fifth and tenth ... he joined them to that fifteenth legion ... eighteen cohorts followed these legions; there came also five cohorts from Caesarea, with one troop of horsemen, and five other troops ... from Syria. Now these ten cohorts had (individually) a thousand footmen, but the other thirteen cohorts had no more than six hundred footman apiece ... There were also a considerable number of auxiliaries got together, that came from kings Antiochus, and Agrippa, and Sohemus, each of them contributing one thousand footmen ... and a thousand horsemen. Malchus ... of Arabia sent a thousand horsemen, besides five thousand footmen ... so that the whole army ... amounted to sixty thousand ...” - Wars of Jews, Josephus 3.4.2.

That is quite a flock of birds! -- and a considerable herd of beasts! Is this what Ezekiel had in mind? After all, he was a prophet of the Jews. Sohemus was the king of Emesa, a city of western Syria. Several men named Antiochus were kings in Syria. B) THE FEAST; a) “You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, drink the blood of ‘princes of the Earth’ (Israel), of rams and lambs, of goats and bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan. You shall eat till you are full ... at My sacrificial meal, which I am sacrificing for you. You shall be filled at My table ...” - Eze 39.19-20.

The fall of Edom is pictured in terms identical to Ezekiel’s description of Titus’ invasion of Jerusalem, by Isaiah. (Compare: Isa 34.4-6.) “Lambs, goats, and kidneys of rams” (Isa 34.4-6) are specified burnt offerings in the law of Moses. (See: Ex 29.11-18.) Although the “kidneys of rams” is not specified by Ezekiel, the slaughter of great numbers of sacrificial animals is common to both Scriptures. This lengthy account of the Supper of God, for the birds and the beasts, could possibly all refer only to the nation of Israel as a unit, for they are described as “nations” frequently. This relates to the twelve tribes of Israel. So then, the complete list of the sacrifices in the law of Moses may be equated to the annihilation of Israel by Rome. On the other hand, each individual item may have a special significance. Iesous separated the “sheep from the goats” on the judgment day, which was after the resurrection in “this generation” (AD 32). He also taught that “some standing here shall not taste death.” Paul declared, “The night is far spent, the day is at hand.” In this prophecy, the lambs die with the goats. Possibly this means the saved died with the lost. Theologians have debated the question, “Were the saved completely spared from the great tribulation?” (Although they were arguing from false premises, because they believed all of these things were yet future, nevertheless, the principle is the same.) Did the servants of Iesous die in the “great tribulation?” (AD 66-74). These mighty theologians contend, in part, that the saved “will be” Raptured before the tribulation. First of all, the “great tribulation” has been over for over 1900 years. But disregarding this error, Iesous denounced this assumption with these words; b) “For then there will be great tribulation ... And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened” - Mt 24.21-22.

So then, Iesous taught that the “some flesh” would be spared by the shortening of the tribulation; for the sake of His “elect.” But all of this matters not to some, for they still believe the theologians; c) “Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded” - Rom 11.7.

Paul has separated Israel (Rom 9.6-8) into those who did not believe and “the From Speaking” (ek lektoj) of Israel who did believe. He continues his sharing of the Wisdom from God like this;

Page 41: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

41

d) “Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant to the From Word (ek loghn) of favor” - Rom 11.5.

The answer to the debate over the saved being spared, or not, from the “great tribulation,” is: “Yes and No!” (Men are doomed to misunderstanding by their lust for a simple answer to everything.) Nero killed Christians in AD 64, but this was prior to the “great tribulation,” which began “when you see the ‘abomination of desolation’ ... in the holy place” (Mt 24.15). This was the invasion of the Roman troops into the Holy Land in AD 66; e) “... then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation” - Dan 11.31.

Daniel had described the altar to Zeus, placed in the Most Holy Place, by Antiochus Epiphanes in 169 BC. Iesous had typified the altar to Zeus with the “eagles” of the Roman legions. Nero is recorded, by Tacitus, to have killed Christians before the “great tribulation” (AD 66-74) when he “threw them to the dogs,” and “burned them as torches,” in AD 64. Antipas died during the “great tribulation,” but we have expressed our doubt about him being a “sheep,” or a believer in Iesous. If he had been a believer, he would have “fled to the mountains” (Asia Minor). Paul answers the great debate about whether Christians died in the “great tribulation,” or not, both negatively and positively. “Did the elect die in the tribulation?”; f) “Therefore, since we have this ministry ... But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not us ... we are hard-pressed ... persecuted ... always carrying about in the body (sing) the dying of the Lord Iesous, that the life of Iesous also may be manifested in our body (plural). For we who live are always delivered to death for Iesous’ sake, that the life of Iesous also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you” - 2Cor 4.1, 7-12.

There you have the answer to the great debate! The apostles died, except for John, but the Body lived. This is made evident by the fact that Paul was allowed to entertain guests while under house arrest in Rome, but the visitors were unmolested. (See: Acts 28.30-31.) The “sheep” slain in Ezekiel’s prediction were the “lambs of God,” the apostles of our Lord Iesous the Anointed. The “goats” slain were those denying Iesous’ Sonship. Now consider the Lord’s promise to the “Called-out” (congregation) at Philadelphia; g) “I will also keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole Earth (Israel), to test those who dwell on the earth” - Rev 3.10.

The From Word “fled to the mountains” in Asia Minor, and were spared. But, some bright Bible student will object, “But Philadelphia was a blessed congregation, and others were not so fortunate.” This is a good point, and well-taken, but the fact remains that not many were threatened with physical death until the resurrection would take place in AD 77. Only the children of Jezebel were sentenced to death, and this may have been symbolic death. “Her children” refers to her followers, who would die out when the prophecy was fulfilled in “ten days” (10 years), and when she was exposed as a false prophetess. The elect were raised up to be with God, but the lost were left behind. Some of the lost became New Jerusalem, the others continued in unbelief and died in sin. The apostles (lambs) died (except for John - Jn 21.17-22) during the “great tribulation” (AD 66-74), but to the best of our understanding the other “sheep” were spared. Even the “goats,” who were the intended object of God’s wrath did not all perish. And, we have no mention of a Rapture before the “tribulation” (as some teach) anywhere in the Bible. Here is a translation that gives that impression though; h) “... and the Earth (Israel) was reaped. And (Then*) another angel came out from the altar ... and the blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for 1600 furlongs” - Rev 14.16-20.

God reverses the order of events in repeated prophecies. In Matthew (24), the war with Rome is first, and the resurrection follows. Here the resurrection precedes the war. Why does God do this? These are the same two historical events. The word “then” suggests a sequential account, with the war following the resurrection. This is opposed to Matthew (24). However, a more literal translation changes the picture. “And* (Then) another angel ...” The conjunctive “and” describes the events as contemporary, and not as sequential. Now this Scripture agrees with all of the others. Iesous states clearly that the lost would “see” the resurrection. (See: Mt 24.40-41.) The writer of Hebrews is more specific, stating that they would know “The Way (Iesous) into the Holiest of All (Heaven)” when the first tabernacle was destroyed. This is the “sign of the Son of man.” (See: Heb 9.8.) We conclude from these premises that the war was first, and the destruction of the temple, and both were followed by the resurrection in “this generation.” [The Greek word in the text is “kai,” which should be translated “and” whenever possible. Proper words for “then” are: “oun” - 192 times, and “tote” - 149 times, and “ara” - 12 times. The following translations have verse seventeen rendered “and,” and not “then”; i) Young’s Literal Translation, and The Living Oracles New Testament, and the King James Version, and Tyndale’s New Testament, and the Rheims New Testament, and the New American Standard, besides two interlinear New Testaments. But all of this preponderance of evidence is unnecessary to the prudent man, for Iesous proclaimed the proper order of events clearly; ii) “The Son of man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend ... and will cast them into the furnace of fire ...Then (tote) the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom ...” - Mt 13.41-43. Matthew (24) describes this order of events; and Mark (13), and Luke (21), and Joel (2), and Isaiah (65), and many others. Therefore we must interpret Revelation (14.16-20) to agree with the rest of the Bible. And the literal translation is much to be preferred to the paraphrase.] This was the “feast of God,” prepared for Rome and her allies. And the nation of Israel was destroyed as prophesied (Isa 65.15, and others). What came next? Who is the wise son? 2) GOD IS GLORIFIED. “I will set My glory among the nations; all nations shall see My judgment which I have executed ... So the house of Israel shall know that I am He Is Gods (myhla hwhy) of them from that day forward. The nations shall know that ... Israel went into captivity for their iniquity ... I hid My face from them ... they all fell by the sword. According to their uncleanness ... I have dealt with them ...” - Eze 39.21-24.

A) THE JUDGMENT. We have discussed “The Judgment” in the preceding verses, where the “birds and beasts of the field” were told to drink “the blood ... of rams and lambs, of goats and bulls.” This has been concluded to refer to Titus and the Roman army destroying the nation of Israel, and burning the temple of God. But, despite the testimony of Iesous and the apostles to the contrary, the Jews are assumed not to know this terrible ordeal was from He Is Gods of them, and from Iesous the Anointed. Now we will consider how they were convinced of their error; and also, when this miracle happened. (Judging by today’s standards, it would certainly require a miracle of God to convince anyone that they could possibly be in the wrong); a) “He Is (hwhy) will cause His glorious voice to be heard, and show (see) the descent of His arm, with ... a devouring fire ... and hailstones. For through the voice of He Is, Assyria will be beaten down, as He strikes with the rod, and in every place where the staff of punishment passes ... For Tophet (Valley of Hinnom) was established of old, yes, for the king (of Assyria) it is prepared. He has made it deep and large; its pyre is fire with much wood; the breath of He Is, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it” - Isa 30.30-33.

We are back to our old symbols of the early part of Ezekiel’s prophecy. Do you remember them? Jeremiah and Isaiah equated Assyria with Babylon; or, as Ezekiel calls it, with Magog. (Then Babylon represents captivity.) Through the process of falling away from God, which came by intermarriage with Gentiles, resulting in divorcement from God (Isa 50.1), the nation of Israel became the Valley of the

Page 43: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

43

Multitude of Gog; or, the Valley of the Bones of Israel; or, the Valley of the Son of Hinnom; or, in this case, Tophet. Isaiah’s context is certainly about Israel! Check it out! Therefore, substituting real names for symbolic names, the king of Assyria seems to be Antipas of the “royal lineage” of Israel. (Thank you, Josephus.) How was God glorified by the destruction of His chosen people? Moses explains this in very certain terms; b) “Thus says He Is (hwhy), ‘By this you shall know that I am He Is. Behold, I (Moses) will strike the waters which are in the river with the rod that is in my hand, and they shall be turned to blood” - Ex 7.17.

The accomplishment of prophecy glorifies God -- then and now! The prophets of God have employed this phrase, about knowing He Is, throughout the Bible. (See: Ex 8.22, Num 16.28-30, Deut 29.5-6, Josh 24.13-14, Judg 6.37, Isa 41.20, Jer 16.21, Eze 6.13, Dan 9.25, Joel 2.27, Mt 24.33; Rev 10.7, 11.15, 20.7.) The most convincing proof that Iesous lives today is the fulfillment of His prophecy in our own lifetimes - Rev 20.7. The Bible testifies that Israel was convinced that the destruction of Jerusalem, and the burning of the temple, were judgments of God. Even Josephus confesses his belief in this fact repeatedly. But, woe to the world! The Premillennialists say that these things have not happened yet! “Iesous is not a King yet; and, there is no kingdom yet,” if they are correct. [They really write these things. I have two Baptist’s commentaries on Revelation, and both writers agree that, “Iesous only came to suffer the first time. He will not reign as King until He comes to earth and sits on a throne in Jerusalem.” Then a Dictionary of Premillennial writers repeats this same teaching over and over again.] On the other hand, the Preterists say there is nothing to look forward to in our day. God has depleted His store of miracles, and exhausted His source of prophecies, and relinquished His control of the governments of the world. Woe to the world, if this is true! Here are some other Scriptures about Israel’s knowledge that God was alive, and about their conversion after the war with Rome (AD 66-74). We will comment after the list. (1) “And after (rxaw) the 62 ‘sevens’ Anointed will be cut off, but not for Himself. And the prince of the people who is to come (Titus) will destroy the city and the sanctuary (AD 70). And end of him as a flood, and till (d[w) the end of battle (AD 74) he will determine desolations of her. And He (the Anointed) will confirm a covenant to many [for] one ‘seven’ (AD 28-35); and middle of the ‘seven’ (AD 32) dwelling of her, sacrifice and offering (Col 2.14). And on wing of abominations of them from desolate and until (r[w) consummation and he will determine her, she is given on desolate ones” - Dan 9.26-27. (2) “And I will show wonders in the Heavens (Governments) and in the Earth (Israel); blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The Sun (Antipas) shall be turned into darkness, and the Moon (Levitical priesthood) into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of He Is (hwhy) (AD 66)” - Joel 2.30-31. (3) “For where the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days the Sun (Antipas) shall be turned into darkened, and the Moon (Levitical priesthood) will not give its light; the Stars (Jewish prophets) will fall from Heaven (Government), and the powers of the Heavens (Governments) will be shaken” - Mt 24.28-29. (4) “And the (12) nations were angry, and she had come, the wrath of You, and the time of the dead, to have been judged (AD 77) ... And the temple of the God (tou Qeou) was opened in the (Third) Heaven, and the ark of His covenant (Most Holy Place) of the Lord (tou Kuriou) was seen in the temple of Him” - Rev 11.18-19.

5) “... the Holy Spirit indicating this, The Way (Iesous) of the (twn) Holies (Third Heaven) not [yet] having been revealed [while] still [structure] of the (tou) first tabernacle (holy place - vs 2) holding standing” -Heb 9.8.

[The quote from Hebrews explains the verse from Revelation (11.19). The “ark of the covenant” (Rev 11.19) is equated to the “Holiest of All” (Heb 9.8). All is peace and harmony.] B) CHECKING OUR GRAMMAR. The proper interpretation of (#1) has been the most common opinion for hundreds of years. This,

Page 44: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

44

in itself, does not make it right; for the majority is usually wrong. (This is determined from the “confined way” and the “broad way.”) But the most popular opinion is also the most logical explanation, with the least theorizing; besides being the most grammatically correct interpretation. The Premillennialists differ with us on this subject. They object to applying “the covenant” (vs 27) to the subject “The Anointed” (vs 26). We must jump over the other subject, which is “Titus” (vs 26b), in order to apply the covenant to the Anointed. So, what do they do? They introduce a new subject, not found anywhere in the Bible, and teach that the Roman Empire is coming back again in the form of Antichrist; and that, he will make the covenant with the Jews. Therefore, Daniel’s “70 Weeks” is extended over 1900 years beyond its real end. (This tale is from the Dark Ages, when all men were retarded, according to Webster’s Dictionary. “Antichrist” is defined to be a person, and persons, in the first century AD. They did not believe in the bodily appearing of Iesous (Man) the Anointed (God). We have many antichrists today, but they are merely repeating the original heresy, and are not prophesied about in the Bible. The Beast and the False Prophet murdered antichrists for 1260 years, and Gog and Magog today do not deny the bodily appearance of Iesous the Anointed. So then, Premillennialism is all “imaginary.”) But getting back to their complaint about our interpretation jumping over one subject to make another subject the precedent for a third subject. We contend that the covenant (vs 27) refers to the Anointed (vs 26), and we hop over the “prince of the people” (vs 26b). Is this legal? The Bible has hundreds of precedents for jumping over the previous subject to apply a statement to an earlier subject in the context. But we have no biblical precedents for introducing an “imaginary” subject into the text. Let us consider an example; a) “But Iesous (A) said to him (B = John of the Dipping), ‘Permit it to be so now ...’ Then he (B) allowed Him (A). When ... Iesous (A) came up immediately ... the heavens were opened to Him (A) and he (B) saw the Spirit of God descending ...” - Mt 3.14-16.

John of the Dipping is referred to as “he” (B), and he jumps over “Him” (A), and “Iesous” (A), and “Him” (A), to reach his precedent of “he” (B) at the beginning. Therefore, we have a biblical precedent for jumping over three subjects to reach the proper reference point. Iesous is not recorded to have seen the Holy Spirit descending, although He probably did, but this is the testimony of John. Again, He tells us that this was to be a sign for him that he might recognize the Anointed of Israel.; b) “‘Look! The Lamb of God (A) ...’ And John (B) bore witness, saying, ‘I saw the Spirit (C) descending from heaven ... and He (C) remained upon Him (A)” - Jn 1.29, 32.

This interpretation does not require an “imaginary” subject that has not come to life after over 1900 years of nonexistence. The subject “Him” (A) refers back to “Lamb of God” (A), and hops over “He” (C), and “Spirit” (C), and “John” (B), to reach the intended subject: “The Lamb of God.” There are literally hundreds of examples of this practice in the Bible. Anyone unaware of this fact is in the dark. So then, the Premillennial objection, in Daniel (9.26-27), is all nonsense. The “imaginary” subject introduced by them, which is “Antichrist,” is even greater folly.

4) BACK TO THE JUDGMENT (C). In example (#2), “Heaven and Earth” represents nations: Governments and Subjects, throughout the Bible. Jacob is the “Sun” and Leah the “Moon” and the twelve patriarchs the “Stars” in Genesis (37.9-10.). “Heaven and Earth” is Babylon in Isaiah (13.10), and “Heavens” is Edom in Isaiah (34.4-6). “Earth” is the congregation of Israel in Isaiah (24), and Joel has the “Sun, and Moon, and Stars” represent Judah, in 588 BC (2.10), and Israel, in AD 70 (2.29-30). We may rest assured with these definitions of the symbols in the Bible, as long as we bear in mind that sometimes they have the literal meaning. In the next quote (#3), we have partial agreement among the expositors, both in the past and in the present. This is rare. Although some like to mix it up, half in the first century and half at the end of time, still they see the reference to the destruction of Jerusalem. Keep in mind, that all of these quotes are to evaluate Ezekiel’s “judgment” of God. This was after the “seven months” (AD 28-32) of “burying the bones of Gog.” If the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 is intended, as so many expositors write, then the resurrection is connected to this event; or, it is in “this generation” (AD 32 - Mt 24.34). But then,

Page 45: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

45

Paul lists three “general” resurrections. (See: 1Cor 15.22-24.) Now we come to the testimony of Iesous the Anointed, the Son of God. (And, today no one believes His testimony! By this we are assured that “Gog and Magog” [Rev 20.8] rule the churches today. If the Devil were not in the churches, they would still believe in Iesous’ words.) Example (#4) is a difficult one, and knowledge of the entire book of Revelation is necessary to evaluate it properly; besides help from God. But (#5) seems to clarify (#4) to the satisfaction of the prudent. We should all understand that the “ark of the covenant” is in the “Most Holy Place;” or, the “Holiest of All.” The one phrase in Revelation correlates to the other phrase in Hebrews. (See: Rev 11.18-19, and Hebrews 9.8.) Both of these Scriptures are about the judgment of God. Some of this judgment is the wrath of God on earth, but the verses quoted refer to the knowledge of the “Way into Heaven.” Two more samples of the judgment of God should suffice. (6) “... his sickle into the Earth (Israel) and gathered the vine of the Earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of the great God (tou Qeou ton megan). And the winepress was trampled from out the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for 1600 furlongs (200 miles)” - Rev 14.19-20. (7) “Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the (12) nations. He himself will rule with a rod of iron. He himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God ... ‘King of kings and Lord of lords’ ... ‘Come and gather together for the supper of the almighty God (tou Qeou tou pantokratorosj), that you may eat the flesh ... of all, free and slave, both small and great’” - Rev 19.15-18.

Now we have before us the “judgment” of God referred to by Ezekiel. The prophets are unanimous in their description of God “punishing the nations” at the same time that Jerusalem was destroyed; but then, the only nations punished at that time were the twelve tribes of Israel. The “Red Horseman” (Rev 6) is the first mention of Rome being chastened by God, and that was a period of 92 years of Civil War (AD 192-284). We can easily separate the prophecies about Israel, and those about later nations being overthrown. The common terms used to describe Israel, such as, “winepress” and “punish all nations” and the “eagles and the carcass” and the “great tribulation” are not employed to prophesy against the countries after the first century. However, the “sun, moon, and stars, and heavens, and earthquake” are still utilized to predict the future woes of other principalities after the nation of Israel was slain. The Jews knew these prophecies of their destruction. Although they did not understand them before hand, yet they were familiar with them, and would recognize them when they occurred. They all remembered Iesous’ words that “not one stone shall be left upon another” after the temple fell. The “winepress of the wrath of God” was taught to the congregation of Israel. (See: Isa 63.1-6, Mt 21.33.) When they felt the wrath, the words would come to mind. God had promised to slay Judah (Isa 65.15). But Zechariah even predicted that God would “pour out His Spirit on the house of David [Iesous; Rev 3.7] and on the inhabitants of [New] Jerusalem” (Zec 12.10). For sure, this would help their memories. The Lord is faithful to His promises: then, and now. The next subject addressed by Ezekiel is, “Israel Shall Know that I am He Is.” B) ISRAEL SHALL KNOW THAT I AM He Is (hwhy). Although eleven of the twelve apostles, and some students, already knew that Iesous was the Lord, Ezekiel tells us that “And they will know, house of Israel, that I He Is Gods of them (mhyhla hwhy yna)” (Eze 39.22). Paul’s letter to Rome must be compared with Ezekiel to understand about “first” and “second” and “third” Israel. (See the notes following.) Salvation is a personal experience, and not a national conversion as the Premillennialists teach today. New Jerusalem was a new nation converted after the war with Rome and the resurrection, but it is described to be “month by month,” and not all at once. New Jerusalem was born in one day (one year; or, twelve months); a) “Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls, ‘Salvation,’ and your gates, ‘Praise’” - Isa 60.18.

Page 46: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

46

“The meek shall inherit name (ONOMA) of the Earth (Israel; Mt 5.5 [klhr onom hsousi]; Strong’s Greek #3686)” was a prophesy about New Jerusalem after the war with Rome was over. Isaiah explains the birth in “one day”; b) “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the Earth (Israel) be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation (New Jerusalem) be born at once?” - Isa 66.8.

In prophesy a “day” is frequently equal to “one year,” as Daniel’s “70 Weeks” was 490 years (455 BC - AD 35), and Iesous’ “1260 days” was 1260 years (AD 600-1860). But this one year began at the resurrection, in AD 77, and continued into AD 78. Who was healed? New Jerusalem! How long did it take? “One Day” equals “Twelve months!” Therefore in four months the wall of Salvation was 48 Cubits high. [12 Tribes X 4 Months = 48 Cubits of Salvation.] Then in eight months the wall would be 96 cubits high. [12 Tribes X 8 Months = 96 Cubits of Salvation.] The Holy City was completely healed in “one day,” or twelve months. [12 Tribes X 12 Months = 144 Cubits of Salvation.] See: Rev 21.17 - 144 cubits. Chapters 21 & 22 of Revelation detail the characteristics of New Jerusalem. The continuous healing of New Jerusalem’s converts reads; c) “In the middle of the street and of the River (Holy Spirit), from here and from there, was a Tree of Life (Iesous) producing twelve fruits, each yielding its fruit according to a month. And the leaves of the Tree were for healing of the nations” - Rev 22.2. The point to be made is that salvation is a personal experience and not a national conversion as the Premillennialists teach today. In fact, some of Israel was never saved! Salvation is also a “state of being.” Alexander Campbell taught this fact in the 1800s, and caused an uproar, but we expect better things from the reader. “... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3.23). This adequately defines the “state of the lost.” Then Iesous teaches, “Unless one is born out of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (Jn 3.5). Now the Lord has described “being born from above” or changing from one “state of being” to another “state of being.” The “Israel” that “knows that I Am He Is,” has changed from the state of “bondage to sin” into “the glorious liberty of the children of God” (Rom 8.21). QUITE A CHANGE! In my humble opinion, understanding the three Israels is essential to comprehending Ezekiel’s message about, “know that I, He Is Gods of them.” Let us have a try at it, and see what we come up with. In Romans, Paul describes the first and second Israel, in about AD 58, in these words; d) “They are not all Israel who are of Israel” - Rom 9.6-8. [Children of “flesh” and of “promise” were contrasted.] Then he mentions some “at this present time” (11.5) who were “a remnant according to the election of favor” (#1). THIS WAS FIRST ISRAEL. They were resurrected in “this generation” (AD 32 to AD 77). Then, “Branches were broken off that I (Gentiles) might be grafted in” (#2) represented SECOND ISRAEL which was “broken off.” Finally, we have; e) “And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again” (#3) - Rom 11.23. THIS WAS THIRD ISRAEL.

This conditional word, “if,” implies that they did not all repent. This conclusion is consistent with history; even the history of the present day. “They are not all Israel who are of Israel” (Rom 9.6). So then, there was no national conversion, nor shall there ever be a “national conversion.” Salvation is a personal experience; one-on-one with God. Man ate of the Tree of Knowledge and became a “free moral agent.” Salvation is a personal experience. The cause for confusion stems from this verse being considered out of context; f) “... because the Creation (Heaven & Earth = Israel) herself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God”- Rom 8.21.

Page 47: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

47

When the other verses, containing stipulations, are considered of equal value then the obscure message is made clear. Therefore THIRD ISRAEL was a part of SECOND ISRAEL, who had not accepted Iesous, until they were anointed with the Spirit of God (Zec 12.10) and mourned and repented (Rev 1.7). And the motivating forces were the destruction of the temple of God at Jerusalem and, “The Adoption, the redemption of our Body” (Rom 8.23). When the Jews saw that they had missed the resurrection they “mourned” (Zec 12.10-14). [NOTE: Imagine living in a community with 10 percent or 15 percent believers in, “the resurrection in this generation.” You had either heard them attest to this belief, or else, you had heard others state they heard this teaching. THEN – one day you wake up and they are all gone. After a day or two, the more curious people would search their former homes, and find no evidence of packing or of moving. The food would still be there for their next meal (if, they had lived on). Their clothes would still be in their former home. Copies of Scripture would be there. All valuable possessions would have been “left behind.” Then you would recall, “They taught that the Lord Iesous had predicted the destruction of the temple.” They would conclude, “We have missed the resurrection.”]

Iesous teaches the same message in different words; g) “Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in Heaven (Government), and then all the (12) tribes of the Earth (Israel) will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds with power and great glory” - Mt 24.30. [“They” refers to the saved, who “met Him in the air.”]

The “sign of the Son of man” was the destruction of the temple in AD 70. See: Heb 9.8. The Jews had heard the teaching of the resurrection in “this generation,” and “some standing here shall not taste death,” and then they saw it happen! This would be a frightening experience. The saved of Earth (Israel) had been raised up to heaven to be with God; but they were “left behind.” h) “Look, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the (12) tribes of the Earth (Israel) will mourn because of Him. Even so, So Let It Be” - Rev 1.7. Compare: Zec 12.10-14.

Please consider that Iesous’ message, and Paul’s message, refer to the same historical event; which was this: “Some of the Israel left behind after the resurrection would repent of their sins and accept the Lord Iesous.” Or, stated in another strain, “Some of SECOND ISRAEL would be converted by witnessing the resurrection of FIRST ISRAEL and thereby would become THIRD ISRAEL; or, New Jerusalem.” The division of Israel is mentioned for a purpose. If you miss the point, you are in the dark. Zechariah had already told this story 500 years before Iesous came in the flesh. Although this may seem like “beating a dead horse,” it is not the case. The emphasis on the words “in that day” refer to a year. Zechariah wrote “in that day,” and it was the same day that Isaiah mentioned about the “birth of a nation in one day.” The reader is warned that he will have a double meaning for Judah and “the inhabitants of Jerusalem” and the “house of David.” Prophecy employs symbolism, and Iesous teaches in parables. Judah designated the “saved Jews before the resurrection in AD 77” (FIRST ISRAEL) while [New] Jerusalem was the “saved Jews and Gentiles” after the resurrection in AD 77 (THIRD ISRAEL). Then SECOND ISRAEL was “the children of the flesh”; both saved and lost, after AD 77. So then, “some” of SECOND ISRAEL became THIRD ISRAEL when they were saved, after the resurrection, in AD 77. In one sentence we will observe SECOND ISRAEL losing the war while [New} Jerusalem was winning the war. This can only be solved by one method: TWO ISRAELS; i) “And it shall happen ‘in that day’ that I will make [Spiritual] Jerusalem [The Called-out of Iesous] a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all (12) nations are gathered against it” - Zec 12.3.

Recall the persecution of the apostle Paul, recorded in the book of Acts, by the Jews, as he visited their synagogues around the world. Saul, before he became an apostle, and was called Paul, determined to annihilate the servants of Iesous. Peter and John were arrested and beaten by the Jewish leaders early

Page 48: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

48

in the history of the From Calling (ek klhsia) of the Anointed. These crimes against God and man were committed at Jerusalem. Zechariah’s message, that the nations to be punished were the twelve tribes of Israel, is consistent with the other prophets. Compare Isaiah; j) “And the-them rebelled them, and they grieved them of Spirit of Holiness of Him; and He turned to them to enemy, this, and fought in them” - Isa 63.10.

The Prophet of God, Iesous the Anointed, had the same message; k) “The (12) nations were angry, and the wrath of You she had come ... And the temple of the God (tou Qeou) was opened in the Heaven and the ark of the covenant of the Lord (tou Kuriou) was seen in the temple of Him” - Rev 11.18-19.

This is the same as “seeing ‘The Way’ (Iesous) into the Holiest of All” (Heb 9.8). Zechariah continues his predictions about the Jews in the first century; l) “‘In DAY, the-this, saying He Is (hwhy), ‘I will strike all of horse in (B) wonder of Her (N), and riding them in (B) madness; and I will open eyes of [Me] against “house of Judah,” and will strike all of horse of the peoples in blindness’” - Zec 12.4.

God struck Israel down for rejecting, and killing, His Son. Verse three was about the curse of “all (12) nations” gathered against “Jerusalem.” But now God is speaking against Judah specifically. What separates Jerusalem from Judah; and blessing from cursing? “They are not all Israel who are of Israel.” We must recognize two definitions for the symbols in order to understand the message of God. If they are losing the war, in Zechariah’s account, or if they are cursed by God, then they are the Jews. On the other hand, any promise of success is to the “children of Promise”, and is victory in the spiritual battle, and not, in physical engagement;. m) “And saying them, leaders of thousand of [physical]‘Judah’ in heart of them, ‘Strength of Her to me dwellers of [Spiritual] Jerusalem [equals Called-out of Iesous] in He Is Gods of hosts of them (mhyhla twabc hwhyb)’” - Zec 12.5.

Iesous commanded the “inhabitants of Jerusalem” to “flee to the mountains” when they saw the Roman army coming; but God, who is the discerner of the thought of man, informs us that the Jews expected the servants of Iesous to fight alongside them; n) “IN THAT DAY I will make the governors of ‘Judah’ like a firepan in the woodpile ... but ‘Jerusalem’ shall be inhabited again in her own place -- ‘Jerusalem’” - Zec 12.6.

The emphasis is on multiple ISRAELS!; o) “He Is (hwhy) will save the tents of ‘Judah’ first, so that the glory of the ‘house of David’ (Iesous: Rev 3.7) and the glory of [New]‘Jerusalem’ shall not become greater than that of ‘Judah’” – Zec 12.7.

Now we have FIRST ISRAEL compared to THIRD ISRAEL. The “tents of Judah” were the Christians resurrected in “this generation” (AD 77). The “house of David” is the “house of Iesous on the throne of David.” See: Rev 3.7. “Jerusalem” is “New Jerusalem” which was founded after the war with Rome, and after the resurrection of the “Old Heavens” (Isa 65.17, 2Pet 3.13);

p) “It shall be IN THAT DAY that I will seek to destroy all the (12) Nations (Tribes) that come against Jerusalem” - Zec 12.9.

The reader should note that if we interpret these words literally, in all of the previous verses from Zechariah, then we would be totally confused. How can “Jerusalem” win the war, while “Judah” is losing

Page 49: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

49

the war? How can the “house of David” prevail, while “Judah” succumbs to the enemy? This is Paul’s message: “They are not all Israel who are of Israel.” DIVISION! The nation of Israel was divided into the “good guys” and the “bad boys.” The “good guys” won the conflict, and the “bad boys” were annihilated. The mighty “arm of He Is was against the Jews in their war with Rome. “I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world.” And, the “hand of God” covered the servants of Iesous in danger. The physical nation of Israel was being both defended by God (first Israel), and chastened by He Is (second Israel) -- at the same time! Servants of Iesous were defended while Judaizers were punished. And THIRD ISRAEL came out of SECOND ISRAEL after the war with Rome, and after the resurrection; q) “And I will pour on the ‘house of David’ (Iesous: Rev 3.7) and on the ‘inhabitants of [New] Jerusalem’ the spirit of Favor and Supplication; then they will ‘look on Me’ whom they pierced. Yes, they will ‘mourn for Him’ as one mourns for his only son, and ‘grieve for Him’ as one grieves for a firstborn” - Zec 12.10.

The Pope teaches that there were only two “dippings of the Holy Spirit;” one at Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, and the second one on the household of Cornelius (AD 35). But here we have a third “dipping of the Holy Spirit” after the resurrection in AD 77. This Scripture is the most exact explanation of the symbol “Heaven and Earth” in the entire Bible. And -- it does not even mention the words “Heaven and Earth!” In the following verses (11-14), “the house of David” is the “Sun,” or the king of Judah. The “house of Nathan” is the “Star,” or the prophet of God. The “houses of Levi and Shimei” are the priests and the scribes, or the “Moon,” or the Levitical priesthood. The :families that remain” are the “Earth,” or the congregation of Israel. And, this is “Heaven and Earth!” The “Spirit of Favor” (Zec 12.10), in this case, represents “forgiveness.” The “Spirit of Supplication” means begging for mercy; or, repentance and prayer. And then, because they already knew the pattern for regeneration (for it had been proclaimed to them for 45 years, and the records of the apostles writings were preserved), they were converted and became “a New Heaven and a New Earth” (Rev 21.1). Although this has been a long and detailed explanation, which seemed unavoidable, this equates to Ezekiel’s “know that I Am He Is (hwhy)” (39.22). The THIRD ISRAEL knew that Iesous was the Lord after the resurrection in AD 77. Consider the fact that the Day of Pentecost was 50 days after the “first day of unleavened bread.” [This was on the fourteenth day of the first day at sundown; or, on the fifteenth day of the month, for the Jewish day began at sundown.] Iesous began His ministry in the flesh in the “fifteenth year of Tiberius,” which was in AD 28. The Year of Jubilee was every 50 years. [AD 28 + 50 = AD 78.] The New Heaven and a New Earth was born in “one day” (year), beginning at the resurrection in AD 77, and ending one year later in AD 78. 3) THE GREAT GATHERING. “Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the “whole house” of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name -- after they have borne their shame and all their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, when they dwelt safely in their land and no one made them afraid” - Eze 39.25-26.

A) THE SITE OF THE MEETING. (1) COUNTING TO TWO. Details, friends, it all boils down to details. We have “a New Heavens (plural) and a New Earth (sing)” mentioned in Isaiah 65.17, and 66.22, and 2Pet 3.13. But then, in Revelation (21.1) we have “a New Heaven (sing) and a New Earth (sing).” What happened to the other “New Heaven?” Where did it go? Yea, yea, where did it go? What the three statements with a plural “Heavens” means is this: “Two New Heavens and One New Earth;” while the verse with the singular word “New Heaven” indicates: “One New Heaven and One New Earth.” Both prophecies with the plural word “Heavens” were yet in the future when Peter wrote in about AD 66. Now we must determine, who are the future “New Heavens?” And, why are they plural? Why is “One (future) New Heaven” alone? When did the plural New Heavens become divided into two singular New Heavens? These are a lot of important questions, but Iesous has promised us the Wisdom

Page 50: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

50

that comes from God only (Jas 1.5). The prayer of Faith shall strengthen our powers of investigation. But there is more data to consider for a proper conclusion. (You would not desire a simple answer, would you?) (2) COUNTING TO THREE. Added to the “Two New Heavens and One New Earth” is the declaration, “And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind” (Isa 65.17). This is just like the three Israels. Do you remember the three Israels? Now we are confronted with three Heavens, two of them are New Heavens, and one of them is gone; or, the Old Heaven. THE OLD HEAVEN TO BE REMEMBERED NO MORE. This had been the “house of David,” and “Nathan,” and “Levi and Shimei,” and “all the families that remain.” See: Zech 12.10-14. “Heaven and Earth has passed away” (Mt 5.18). Israel has been slain by God (Isa 65.15). Israel is the “Old Heaven” (Government) not to come to mind. [Why do we have so many Judaizers today?] Away with the “Old” (#1), and, “Behold, I make all things new” (Rev 21.5). “All things” includes “Two New Heavens and One New Earth.” Now is the appropriate time to mention that “Third Heaven” (2Cor 12.2) is the Eternal Abode of God (#3). “First Heaven” was physical Israel (#1), and “Second Heaven” is New Jerusalem (#2). “First Heaven” being gone forever, there remains “Second” and “Third heaven” today. Third Heaven is in the sky with God, and Second Heaven is on earth. Governments are represented by the symbol “Heaven.” The Jews Government, First Heaven, has been overthrown. Iesous is the Second Heaven, the Head of the Body. This New Heaven (Iesous) was seen “coming down out of (Third) Heaven” (Rev 21.3); q) “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This Iesous who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” - Acts 1.11.

Iesous is back on earth! He was only gone until God should make His enemies (Israel) His footstool. This is stated more clearly by Iesous; r) “And I heard a great vpoice out of the heaven saying, ’Look, the dwelling of the God (tou Qeou) [is] with the men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be people of Him, and the God (O Qeos), He will be with them” - Rev 21.3.

Now “the house of David, and the house of Nathan, and the house of Levi, and the house of Shimei, and all the houses that remain” (Zec 12.11-14), who had been the “first heavens,” were transformed by the “outpouring of the Spirit of God” (Zec 12.10), and became the “second heaven” (New Jerusalem). The Government (Heaven) of the Dwelling is on earth, to be with His people. This is Iesous. He is the Sun (King), and the Moon (High Priest), and the Morning Star (Living Prophet). [Rev 19.16, 5.10, 22.16. Pity the Antichrists who deny the Son of God.] This is what the book of Revelation is all about, a Living Prophet of God. Therefore, Iesous = New Heaven, both collectively and as each individual component of Heaven: Sun, Moon, Star. There is no authority in the Body but Iesous. See: Mt 28.18, Rev 5.5, 9-14; 7.10. And this time of power and authority was prophesied by Isaiah; s) “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the Government (Heaven) will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called, ‘Separate (Mt 2.23), Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His Government (Heaven) and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom...” - Isa 9.6-7.

No more priests! No more high priests! No more Sanhedrins! Iesous is the only authority in the Body, -- on earth -- and His name is the “Word of God” (Rev 19.13). For the priesthood in Third Heaven, see: 1Pet 2.5, 9; Rev 1.6, 5.10, 20.6. Now we can comprehend that “Old Heavens” is in the plural to represent a succession of “Governments.” Every new king of Judah began a new Government/Heaven. And Iesous’ Government/Heaven (Rev 21.1) is in the singular because God promised the Israelites; t) “And doing of Me (YT) with them to one nation in Earth (Israel), in Mountains (Kingdoms) of Israel; and one King (Iesous) he will be King to all of them to King, and they will not be again to two nations and they will not be divided to two kingdoms again” - Eze 37.22.

Page 51: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

51

This means that the divided churches are sinful. And the united Ecumenical Churches are sinful.

And the Roman Catholic Churches, and Unitarian, and Islamic movements are sinful. None of the churches have Iesous as the Head of the Body! They all bow down to a man instead of to God. Most of them admit this fact freely. “The Pope is the vicar of Christ on earth.” And, “Muhammad is the greatest prophet of God.” Besides that, “The king/queen is the head of the church,” according to the Anglicans. “There is one pastor for each congregation,” if you believe the Baptist creed. None of these creeds accept Iesous as the Head of the Body. (3) LOOKING UP. But then, where is Paul’s “Third Heaven?” Hear his account: a) “... such a one was caught up to the Third Heaven ... how he was caught up into Paradise and heard unspeakable words which it is not lawful for a man to speak ...” - 2Cor 12.2-4.

Third Heaven is the Eternal Abode of God. How did God’s home become one of the “New Heavens?” God, and His home, were in place before the world was created. How did it become “New?” The writer of Hebrews makes this point clear: b) “And all these (men of Faith), having obtained a good testimony through Faith, did not receive the promise (of Eternal Life), God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect (faultless - Jude) apart from us” - Heb 11.39-40.

The Eternal Abode of God had the souls of righjteous men added to it, and so, it falls into a new classification, called, “New Heaven.” Abel, and Abraham, and David, and Elijah, and Elisha, and all others saved from the Day of Wrath were resurrected in AD 77. All the saved of earth, since the fall of Adam and Eve, were prophesied (when Hebrews was written) to be resurrected together with the Body of the Anointed on earth in the first century. This is grade school grammar! Iesous was the only one raised up from the dead, who did not die again, before this event. The second, of three resurrections, was “ten days” (years) after Revelation was written (Rev 2.10). [See: 1Cor 15.22-24 for a list of the three “general” resurrections.] But one will object, “God took Enoch, and he was no more.” Then another will complain, “Elijah was carried to Heaven with chariots of fire.” We believe that “Every word of God is pure,” and so, both statements are true. Now we must reconcile Hebrews with the raising up of Enoch and Elijah. Iesous taught that the thief on the cross would be with Him in Paradise “this day.” But that was 45 years before the resurrection. Iesous teaches us that the saved, such as Lazarus in one of His parables, were in Abraham’s bosom; and this is not mentioned to be Third Heaven. See: Luke 16. The wicked were held in Hell until the resurrection, and the righteous were held in Paradise. The Lord of Glory, and His apostles, added much understanding to the Old Testament Scriptures. This is the case here. Enoch and Elijah were waiting for the resurrection, as mentioned in Chapter 11, of Hebrews; and then they joined the first century in the resurrection of the “Old Heavens.” If we believe all verses in the Bible to be true, this is the logical conclusion. Abel and Enoch were not Jews, but all the others mentioned in Hebrews were Israelites. They are described to be resurrected together; c) “And every creature which was ‘in Heaven and in the Earth’ (Israel) and ‘down under the Earth’ (Gentiles) and such as are on the Sea (of Glass), and all that are in them, I heard saying ...” - Rev 5.13.

(A famous Greek scholar has written, after a lot of harping about the definition of prepositions being determined by the dative or the nominative case, that “the prepositions can really mean a variety of things.” And, this was mentioned because the rules cited did not work on the problem being discussed. This has been confirmed for us by a translator of an interlinear New Testament, who tried desperately to translate “epi” as “on” throughout his book. He had many very awkward sentences, such as, “on the sea,” and “on the ship,” and “on the desert,” but even so, he still failed in his goal, and had to resort to the definition “in” at times. All efforts to limit “epi” to be translated “on” every time have failed. Following the advice of the Greek scholar mentioned, we have adapted the prepositions in the verse quoted to agree with the meaning.)

52

In summary, Third Heaven is looking up, and Second Heaven is looking on earth, and First Heaven is looking back in history; for it is gone. (4) DIVIDING THE TWO NEW HEAVENS. Chapters 4 & 5, of Revelation, describe “One New Heaven” and no earth. This scene, quoted above, is the joy of the redeemed of the earth after the resurrection, when they beheld the glory of the Father and the Son. This is Third Heaven! God is a “living Spirit,” and “We know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him” (1Jn 3.2). Therefore, because everyone is a “living Spirit” there is no need of an earth. Paul explains about our “terrestrial bodies” now, and how, they will become “celestial bodies” at the resurrection. See: 1Cor 15.35-50. Paul also uses the terms “natural body” and “spiritual body” to describe the change. Then he concludes, “Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of Heaven.” Third Heaven is for “spiritual bodies,” and has no earth connected with it. Chapters 21 & 22, of Revelation, picture “a New Heaven (sing) and a New Earth” in great detail. “Heaven and Earth” was a symbol for physical Israel, and now it signifies New Jerusalem. There is one Government (Heaven) and one Congregation (Earth). Therefore we have “One New Heaven” (Rev 4 & 5), and “One New Heaven and One New Earth” (Rev 21 & 22); and these equal the “New Heavens (plural) and a New Earth (sing)” in Isaiah and Second letter of Peter. Details, friends, it is all a matter of details. Ezekiel had prophesied of this wonderful experience, both in Heaven and on Earth! The first Israel met the Lord in the air, with 10,000 holy ones (symbolical), and went to meet God the Father. Then third Israel was converted on earth, in One Day (12 Months), and became the New Earth; or, the New Jerusalem. Those beheaded, by the Beast and the False Prophet [See: Inquisition], for the testimony of Iesous, and for the word of God, were resurrected in about AD 1775, before the first bowl of wrath, which is believed by many to be the French Revolution; but, we believe, also included the American Revolution; for they were both against Daughters of the Scarlet Woman (Rev 17.1-5). This is described in Chapters 15 & 15, of Revelation, and because it was the First Resurrection (Rev 20.4-6) of those “asleep,” no one on earth could witness the event. But we trust the testimony of the Son of God! Then we have a resurrection and judgment day awaiting us, despite the testimony of some Preterists; and this is recorded in Chapters 20 & 21, of `Revelation. Therefore, Paul’s three “general resurrections” are: Iesous (#1), and the Old Covenant (#2), and the New Covenant (#3). Iesous’ four specific resurrections are: Iesous (#1), and the Old Covenant (#2), and the First Resurrection (#3), and the Final Resurrection (#4).

B) THE SIZE OF THE SITE; a) “Moreover the light of the Moon will be as the light of the Sun, and the light of the Sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that He Is (hwhy) binds up the bruise of the people of Him and heals the stroke of the wound of them” - Isa 30.26.

How is the reader coping with the verbal math problems? Our teachers in grade school emphasized verbal math, almost as though they were preparing us to interpret the Bible. Praise the Lord for math teachers! “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Rom 8.28). And, from recent experience, the “all things” mentioned seem to include verbal math. What do you think? We have seen Iesous identified as the Moon (High Priest), and also as the Sun (King of kings). “Things equal to the same thing are equal each other,” as we learned in Freshman Algebra. Therefore, Iesous = Moon, and Iesous = Sun, means that the Sun = the Moon. “The light of the Moon (Iesous) will be as the light of the Sun (Iesous).” That part of the puzzle was not difficult, but what is the “light” that is increased “sevenfold”? Maybe it would help to inform the reader that “there is no Night there” (Rev 21.25). Many times we have seen the Moon in the morning sunlight, and also the Morning Star during the morning daylight. So then, the Sun and Moon and Morning Star are all shining in the same Morning. “So the Evening (Darkness) and the Morning (Light) were the first day” (Gen 1.5). The message of Isaiah (30.26) is about the Morning (Light) of the Seventh Day. Iesous explained this for us:; b) “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is Day; the Night is coming when no one can

Page 53: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

53

work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” - Jn 9.4-5.

The Lord’s ministry in the flesh was the Morning (Light) of the Sixth Day. This period was: AD 28-35. This was “one week confirming the covenant with many for one week” (Dan 9.27). Then the apostles’ ministry, after AD 35, was the Evening (Darkness) of the Seventh Day. Paul stated it like this: “The Night is far spent, the Day is at hand” (Rom 13.12). James had put it this way: “Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand ... the Judge is standing at the door!” (Jas 5.8-9). Peter, not to be outdone, has this to say: “Nevertheless we, according to promise, look for New Heavens and a New Earth in which righteousness dwells” (2Pet 3.13). John promotes the same message: “... even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last Hour” (1Jn 2.18). Jude mentions the Night also, “Look, the Lord comes with ten thousand of His holy ones, to execute judgment on all ...” (Jude 14-15). The final Day was about to dawn when these men wrote. The “light of the Sun” represents the dominion of the king. The king of Israel had this; c) “And the winepress was trampled from out the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for 1600 furlongs” - Rev 14.20.

Although Israel was in subjection to Rome, they still had an heir to the throne, Antipas by name. The former borders were from the city of Dan in the north to the city of Cela (Heb), or Petra (Gr.), in the south. This was a distance of 200 miles, which equals 1600 furlongs. The “sun darkened” was Antipas who was slain “where Satan dwells” (Rev 2.13). Josephus records that Antipas was murdered in Jerusalem, which would be “where Satan dwells.” The “New Sun” is Iesous our Lord. The boundaries have been enlarged (Isa 54.2), and 12,000 furlongs is 1500 miles. The Holy City was 12,000 furlongs square (Rev 21.16). Now Iesous was on the throne of David, and He was the Sun. But He has a surprise for us! [1600 furlongs X 7 = 11,200 furlongs.] “The light sevenfold was a round number.”

Frequently we have the same subject described by round numbers and exact numbers in the Bible. David is recorded to have ruled 40 years. He is also declared to have ruled 7.5 years in Hebron, and 33 years in Jerusalem, which equals 40.5 years. Then the “seven nations driven out of Canaan for Israel to possess the Promised Land,” are recorded as seven, and sometimes as six, and other times as only five nations. Therefore, we divide 12,000 by 1600 to derive the exact multiplier. [12,000/1600 = 7.5. 200 miles X 7.5 = 1500 miles.] The “light “ of Iesous’ rule was 7.5 times as large as the “light” of the kings of Judah. Stated differently, “one day” of Iesous’ “light” is equal to “seven days” of the “light” of the kings of Judah. This only applies to the beginning of New Jerusalem, in AD 78, and the book of Revelation is a history of the changes in the boundaries of New Jerusalem. The Arab Expansion (AD 632-782) drove the servants of Iesous out of Israel and into Europe. The twelve Gates to the Holy City (Rev 21.10) are named in Chapter 2, of the book of Acts. Here is a suggestion: ON THE NORTH: Macedonia, Asia, and Cappadocia. ON THE EAST: Parthia, Mesopotamia, and Media. ON THE SOUTH: Egypt, Arabia, and Elam/Persia. ON THE WEST: Cyrenaica, Crete, and Greece (Corinth). These were the twelve Gates to the New Jerusalem, which was the New Earth. The twelve messengers whose names were on the twelve Gates were the twelve tribes of Israel (Rev 21.12). And after the resurrection in AD 77, these were the nations inhabited by Israel. This is the site of the “Great Gathering” of God Almighty. God also describes this as “bringing again the captivity of Israel” (Jer 30.18). Originally the inhabitants of “Third Heaven/New Jerusalem” were gathered into the Body of the Anointed, which we have named, “First Israel.” Iesous proclaimed, “My kingdom is not of this world.” First Israel was designated the “firstfruits of His creatures” (Jas 1.18), and these met Iesous in the air. [The reader should recall Hebrews, “they (Pre-flood and Old Heavens will not be made perfect without us (144,00 firstfruits).] Second Israel (New Jerusalem) did not have to experience a change of geographical location to come to Jerusalem, for Jerusalem was enlarged to come to them. Jerusalem was wherever the

Page 54: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

54

citizens of the kingdom assembled to bow down to Iesous and the Heavenly Father. The movement away from the earthly temple was stated to already be in effect in Iesous’ ministry in the flesh. “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true ‘fallers down’ will fall down to the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to fall down to Him” (Jn 4.23). [The word “worship” was invented during the Middle English period.] A survey in a Bible concordance of the word “worship” shows that men “fell down to” Iesous in Galilee, and Samaria, and Decapolis, and other places. So then, the temple had already begun to be replaced. New Jerusalem has prevailed against all attempts to wipe it out. Pagan Rome tried for over 200 years until Constantine ended the persecution. The Eastern Empire tried to eliminate Christianity until they were deposed in AD 1453. The Ottoman Turks tried to end the true religion until their demise in AD 1918. The Papal Inquisitions also failed to end the kingdom of the God and of the Lamb. The Protestant persecutions in England were unsuccessful in their efforts to curb true religion. The promotion of church creeds was the Devil’s way of fighting against the Lord Iesous. [The current assault on the true faith, the Ecumenical Movement, has been the most effective. The “City on a hill” is no longer seen. The kingdom of God has been driven out of the churches, and is censored in the secular press. The Bible and history have been corrupted to promote their perverted teachings. Even the curriculum in the public schools has been changed to keep the truth of God out of the world. But they will not last much longer. See: Rev 20.9b-10.] Returning to Ezekiel’s prophecy, we will reach the conclusion in the next section. Then God will gather again the captivity of Israel from all lands, which is, “The Homecoming.” 4) THE HOMECOMING. Iesous our Lord loves parables (Mt 13.10), and symbolism (Rev 8.12), and therefore, any attempt to interpret the Bible literally is a waste of time! The reader is reminded of this fact before we encounter the descriptions of “The Homecoming” by the prophets. The Premillennials proclaim that these things never happened in the history of the world. The opponents of Premillennialism have not done an adequate job in disproving this claim. Therefore: The whole world now in darkness lie, though still the Sun is in the sky; Though is the Moon quite full and clear, though Morning Star still lingers near;

On men the veil of unbelief, Blocks out the Sun sent for relief; The crown of pride now shades the eyes, They worship Satan in disguise; The lamp unto the feet is lost, The Bible shunned, and at great cost; They tread the path that leads to Hell, And as they go, say, “All is well.” “Unbelief” is the title of the poem, and is the plague of the world today. Please bear in mind, “An open mind lets in the light.” So then, we will try to be “un-literal,” or symbolic; a) “‘When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and I am made holy in them in the sight of many nations, then they will know that I He Is (hwhy) Gods of them (plural: mhyhla hwhy yna) who sent them into captivity ... but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer. And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says Lord of [me] He is (hwhy ynda)” - Eze 39.27-29.

The captivity consists of the “servants of sin” (Rom 6.17) and “servants of men” (1Cor 7.23) and “servants of corruption” (2Pet 2.19). “The Creation [Israel] itself will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God” (Rom 8.21);

b) “And being (hyhw) in day the-this Lord of {me] (ynda) He will again, second time, [set] hand of Him to buy of remnant of people of Him whom He will remnant, from Assyria and Egypt, from Pathros and Cush, from Elam and Shinar, from Hamath and the Islands of the Sea (Europe)” - Isa 11.11.

Page 55: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

55

Isaiah has the same prediction as Ezekiel, as the phrases, “brought them back from the peoples,”

and “recover the remnant ... from Assyria and Egypt, etc.;” mean the same thing. But Isaiah connects this great event with an historical occasion that all can understand. Iesous was anointed with the seven Spirits of God (Mt 3.16, Isa 11.1-4). And the “Gentiles seek Him” (Isa 11.10), is elaborated on by the apostle, Paul, and is declared to be the present time (Rom 15.9-12), in AD 58. We have narrowed the “Great Gathering” and “The Homecoming,” to the first century by the apostles’ testimony. This is what Ezekiel was talking about in Chapter 39. Consider another description of “The Homecoming,” even in greater detail; c) “Arise, shine; for your Light has come! And the glory of He Is (hwhy) is risen upon you, for look, the darkness will cover the Earth (2nd Israel), and deep darkness the people; and He Is (hwhy) will arise over you ... The Gentiles will come to your Light, and kings to the brightness of your rising ... Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be nursed at the side of you ... The wealth of the Gentiles will come to you, the multitude of camels will cover the land of you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all those of Sheba will come; they will bring gold and incense, and they will proclaim the praises of He Is (hwhy) ... And the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them to honor He Is Gods of you (kyhla hwhy) and to Holy One of Israel (larvy vwdq) foir glorifying you” - Isa 60.1-9.

Bear in mind that this is to be interpreted symbolically and historically. “The darkness shall cover the Earth (2nd Israel)” is not difficult to discern since Ezekiel made mention of the “blood of rams and lambs, or goats and bulls,” in order to depict the war with Rome (AD 66-74). Both prophets, Isaiah and Ezekiel, proclaim darkness and light. The darkness would relate to the “evil eye” which Israel was commanded to “pluck out and cast away” in the Sermon on the Mount. The apostles were the “good eye” in the Body of the Anointed. The leaders of darkness, the scribes and the Pharisees, led the nation into the terrible grief suffered in the loss of the war. Once more, we will recite Josephus’ statistics of the war: 1,100,000 dead, and 97,000 went into captivity. Could this be the “captivity” mentioned by Ezekiel? (See: Eze 39.28). Or, is it the “bondage of corruption” which Paul makes mention of in Romans? Possibly it is both. Isaiah mentions “the remnant ... who are left, from Assyria and Egypt” (Isa 11.11). Assyria equals Parthia in our list of twelve Gates to the Holy City. Are these Jews identified by Isaiah the slaves mentioned by Josephus? Again, Isaiah denotes, “Your sons shall come from afar” (Isa 60.4). We will assume that all of these prisoners represent the same prophecy; and, all three quotes follow captivity with freedom! Ezekiel’s note of God’s promise to “pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” has been previously discussed, and corresponds to Zechariah’s “pouring out of My Spirit” (Zec 12.10). But, what is the goal of this great “Homecoming?” Could it be “a New Heaven and a New Earth?” Is the object of their journey New Jerusalem? This would not require a geographical journey, if the answer is, “Yes.” Assyria and Egypt were contained within the boundaries of the “Holy Jerusalem.” Elam (Persia) and Shinar (a city in Babylon) are also inside the borders of the “New Earth.” It is obvious that the journey is not a geographical trip, but rather, it is a translation from the “state of sin” into the “kingdom of God.” We observe transference from “children of wrath” to “the glorious liberty of the children of God.” Did not Paul prophesy that this would happen? (See: Rom 8.21.) The journey is to Spiritual Jerusalem! And, Spiritual Jerusalem’s boundaries included the countries where they were already living. A change of heart is being depicted, and remorse, and obedience to Iesous’ rules. What is meant by the “wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you?” And also, what does “gold and incense” signify? Does God require “filthy lucre” for His Body on earth? The Bible student will recognize that this is not to be taken literally, for the symbols are defined by God; d) “Receive my (Wisdom’s - vs 1) instruction, and not silver; and Knowledge rather than gold; for Wisdom is better than rubies, and all things one may desire cannot compare with her” - Prov 8.10-11; e) “... that the genuineness of your Faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes ... may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Iesous the Anointed ...” - 1Pet 1.7; f) “... that I should proclaim among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of the Anointed ...” - Eph 3.8.

Page 56: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

56

Iesous loves symbolism! Wisdom and Faith, and all of the seven Spirits of God are compared to gold and silver and rubies. This is “the wealth of the Gentiles.” Iesous would not be glorified by earthly treasures anyway, it is the Faith of man that He seeks. “My kingdom is not of this world.” The Love of our fellowman is commanded. Knowledge and Wisdom are to be pursued. Words paint a prettier picture than the brush of any artesian that ever lived. -- especially the words of Iesous! The incense is the image of something else; g) “... and the 24 Elders fell down before [place] of the Lamb (tou Arniou), each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones” - Rev 5.8.

This is further evidence of the “wealth of the Gentiles.” Spiritual wealth is to be desired. The individual and the corporate Body should both pray for these seven Spirits of God. The “captives of Israel” have been “brought back to the Earth of them” (Eze 39.28), which is to be considered New Jerusalem, and also, citizenship in the community of God. Paul writes to the congregations addressing the slaves in the community, and their relationship with their masters. Therefore, the “spiritually free” men may still be “physically captive.” The Holy Spirit is named the “Comforter,” and would help men to bear up under captivity of the body while freeing the spirit of man from sin and bondage. Slaves are prominent in the membership of the Body of the Anointed. We would all do well to remember this fact. But then, all is not peace and joy. For they did not all come home, because Paul writes, “And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in” (Rom 11.23). Obviously, this implies that some would not be grafted in, though many would repent and come to the Lord Iesous. All of the premises must be considered together. To ignore a single one would result in a faulty conclusion; h) “They are not all Israel who are of Israel” - Rom 9.6; i) “And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief ... grafted in” - Rom 11.23; j) “And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written” - Rom 11.26.

First, Paul declares that a Jew does not make an Israelite. An Israelite is defined by Iesous to be, “Look, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit” (Jn 1.47). Secondly, part of the Israel divorced by God (Isa 50.1) is forecast to be grafted back in to the Branch (Iesous - Isa 11.1). Thirdly, all the true Israelites would be saved. Then, the words “if” and “continue” imply that some would not be grafted back in to the Branch. And history confirms this today, for many claim to be Jews who do not believe in Iesous. But there are not Jews in God’s sight today, for he has “made of the two one new man” (Eph 2.15). And here the story ends. But only the happy part is recorded by Ezekiel; k) “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged by no one” - 1Cor 2.14-15. CONCLUSION: Remember the types and antitypes: Israel in Egypt (1850-1635 BC) Servants of Iesous/Roman Empire (AD 78-312). Judah in Babylon (588-518 BC) Pope’s 42 Months (AD 600-1860) Immanuel in the Flesh (AD 28-32) The Millennium (AD 1859-1959) Jews/Servants of Sin (AD 32-77) Captive to Gog (AD 1959-2004)

The conclusion is that THE LORD IESOUS ANOINTED LIVES! -- today. If Ezekiel could predict almost 600 years into the future, then -- surely -- the Lord Iesous can equal that feat. And if Moses could forecast the fall of Jerusalem to Titus and the Roman army in 1594 BC -- surely -- Iesous, the Anointed of God, can surpass the feats of a mere man of earth, for He is the Son of God! Then, if Daniel prophesied (in 556 BC that the Pope would fall to the Ten Papal States in AD 1860, and 1870 -- certainly -- Iesous knows the future today, and has declared it in His Revelation. The Protestant reformers believed this fact for 500 years.

A BIBLE TIME LINE Sid Williams, Copyright 2009 Seven Lamps Library, 2532 Northbridge Court, Granite City IL 62040-6140 INTRODUCTION: One must read the entire Bible to get to know God; Who is He? What does He do? What does the Living God expect us to do? God is eternal: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” – Jas 1.17; KJV. Iesous is eternal: “Iesous Anointed the same yesterday, and today, and into the ages” – Heb 13.8. “God is always in the present tense” – Sid. Knowledge of the Living God comes from a, “Bible Time Line.” What did God do two centuries ago? What did God do in the 1900s? What did Good do in the 1990s? What has God done since AD 2000? What will God do next? The conservative Protestant expositors, and the expositors of the Millennium (1859-1959), all interpreted the Book of Revelation by answering these questions. “The Great Apostasy”, 1948, founding the World Council of Churches, and bringing the “Millennium” into captivity (Rev 20.9a; 1959), banned the Bible message worldwide (and – I was there!) The third year I tried again, and failed again. In that third year, I visited Dale V. Wilhoit, much my superior in age and wisdom; and told him my problem, We were in his living room. He just chuckled, and lumbered into his office (for he was a big man), and then handed me a three-ring binder with this work. So then, sometimes God leads men directly to wisdom, without any human help. At other times, as in our example above, God sends wisdom by human messengers (angels). Praise the King of kings! New name of the God and of the Iesous; Rev 3.12

“The [one] overcoming, I will make him a pillar in the temple of the God of Me, and no, never, he will go

[out] [any] longer. And I will write the name of the God of Me and the name of the City of the God of

Me, [name] of the New Jerusalem, the [she] which comes down from [place] of the heaven, from [throne]

of the God, and the new name of Me” – Rev 3.12.

A) Who was speaking? The angel of Iesous Anointed (Ihsouj Cristoj; Rev 1.1) was confirming His Revelation.

B) To Whom was He Speaking? He was speaking to the “one sent” (apostle), John, and to the Jewish congregations in the seven cities of Asia (a Roman Province in what is now Turkey).

C) In what “Age” was he speaking? He was speaking in the “Old Heavens; Law of Moses Age.” D) Does it still apply today? Absolutely not! This promise of new names for the God and the Iesous

was to be revealed at the Resurrection of “The Dead and the Living” (Mt 16.27-28) in AD 77.

I. God had declared that, “He had divided Himself, in order to come to earth and die for our sins.

A) “Look, the virgin will have [a babe] in the womb, and will bear a Son, and they will call the name of Him, ‘Immanuel’ which is being translated, ‘The God with us’” – Mt 1.23.

NOTE: One God in the Spirit in heaven and one God in the flesh on earth equals two Gods.

B) “In beginning was the Word, and the Word was with the God, and the Word was God … Into the own He came, and the own (Israel) did not receive Him” – Jn 11, 11.

NOTE: One spirit-God in heaven and one God in the flesh on earth equals two Gods.

C) “For this, you will be minded in you which was in anointed [Body] of Iesous (en cristw Ihsou)* who in form of God did not consider [it] robbery the [act] to be equal with God, but emptied Himself, taking form of a Servant in likeness of men coming to be … becoming obedient

until death, and a death of a cross” – Php 2.5-8.

NOTE *: “Anointed” is dative case (object of a preposition; w), and “of Iesous” is genitive case

(possessive form in English; ou). Two words of different cases (w ou) in one phrase or sentence cannot refer to the same subject. But the alleged Bible translators have all rendered this, “Christ

Jesus.” Neither the word “Christ’ (Anointed) nor the word “Jesus” (Iesous) are found in the Greek

manuscripts. All Greek Interlinear Bibles today confirm “Anointed” and “Iesous.” This gross error is

repeated 59 times.

NOTE: One God in the flesh and on the cross, and one God in heaven equals two Gods.

D) “For a Child is born to us, a Son giving to us … and He will call name of Him, ‘Wonderful, He will Counsel, God (la) of Might, Father of Everlasting, Prince of Peace” – Isa 9.6.

NOTE: Father and Son being equal means, “I and the Father are One” – Jn 10.30.

“The Father of Me is greater is greater [than] Me” (Jn 14.28), means that God was divided into two

unequal parts. The reason that the Father was greater is because Iesous was limited by His fleshly

body to be in only one geographical location at a time. On the other hand, the Father had His eye on

the entire universe, controlling nature everywhere, and also controlling kingdoms everywhere.

II. “The Reunion of the Divided God” was Recorded Just as Dogmatically as the Separation.

A) “And being ‘He Is’ (hwhy) to kinging over all of the Earth (New Jerusalem) in day, the-this, ‘He Is’ (hwhy) One, and name of Him ‘he will be’ (hyhy) One” – Zec 14.9.

NOTE: See the two participles, one for God (hwh) and another for man and “name” (hyh). Zechariah was predicting New Jerusalem after the Division of God was healed.

B) “And when the All are subjected to Him (Iesous), then also He, the Son will be subjected to The [One] (God) having subjected to Him (Iesous) the All, in order that The God may be The All in

all” – 1 Corinthians 15.28.

C) So then, the “Reunion of God” was recorded in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

III. NEW NAMES OF DIVIDED GODS RECORDED IN NEW COVENANT AS UNITED.

Now we will search for the “name of God of Me (Iesous)” and, “My new name” (of Iesous).

This “name of God” was to be revealed in Third Heaven, after the resurrection in “ten days” (AD

67-77). My (Iesous’) “new name” was also to be revealed in Third Heaven.*

NOTE: “First Heaven” was Israel, and “Second Heaven” is New Jerusalem, and “Third Heaven”

is “The Eternal Abode of God,” mentioned in 2 Corinthians 12.2; and pictured in Revelation 4 & 5, and

Revelation 7.

The “Eternal Abode of God” became a “New Third Heaven” when men of earth were added to

the citizenry, in AD 77.

We will begin our search by identifying what these “new names” are not!

(1) “The Lord” will not be considered for the Jews are still boasting of creating that name. They

claimed that “the name of God” (HWHY = “He Is”) is too holy to be pronounced, and so, “When we

come to that name, we change it to ‘adonai’.” Quote from David Biven, JerusalemPerspective.com.

(2) Iesous told the Jews that He would teach, “the name of My God,” and so it must be a new

name that they did not know in AD 67, when this statement was written. These names, from the

manuscripts, would include: “the God” and “holy God” and “God of the Fathers” and “King of kings” (1

Tim 6.15) and “Gods of the gods and Lord of the lords” (Deut 10.17) and “great King above all gods” (Ps

95.3) and “Lords of us more than all of gods” (Ps 135.5) and “Gods of the gods” and “King of the

nations” (Jer 10.7) and “Mighty God and Father Everlasting” (Isaiah 9.6).

(3) “My new name” would exclude: “Iesous Anointed” and “Father and Son” and “One Lord and

One God,” and “High Priest” and “Lamb of God,” and “Savior” and “The Nazarene” and “The God with

us.”

So then, “What is left?”

Chapter Four of Revelation is the first chapter describing Third Heaven and the Resurrection in

AD 77. God was recorded, “He sits on the throne” (Rev 4.2).

NOTE: kaqhmenoj – was translated by the lexicographers to read: “[one] sitting on the throne.” But then,

“oj” is the masculine, singular, nominative case ending. This (singular) means, “No Father and Son.”

“Lord, the Almighty God” is Verse 4.8. Genesis 17.1 reads: “I, God of Might.”

“The Almighty” in the alleged Old Testament translations is, “fake.” Genesis 17.1 reads, “I God of

Might” (ydv la yna). Ezekiel 10.5: reads, “God of Might” (ydv la). The Hebrew words for “all” are - #3605 –lk = “all of”; and the most frequent is the letter “K” – k = “all.” But there is no justification for the word, “Almighty” in the Hebrew.

NOTE: ynda (Lord of [me]) and ydv (might of) have the, “Dangling Preposition” – “Y” (y). YNDA is from NWDA for, “Lord” and is translated, “Lord of [me]” sometimes. The “Dangling Preposition” has

an “Implied Object” (in this case, “me’) which must be “supplied” by the translator or reader.

Page 66: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

66

NOTE: This is not “adding to the Word” if it is clearly marked by “brackets” ([..]) or. Italic print (Lord of

me). The Bible has many sentences without a verb. And quite a many without a subject. Anyone

reading an Interlinear Bible for the first time will be shocked at how many supplied words are in their

Bible translations. But these missing words are determined by the context, and someone familiar with all

the Bible can correctly supply the missing words.

GREEK: o Pantokratwr = the Almighty (in the translations) – so then, this is a new name. NOTE: “Pan” = “all.” “to” = “the.” “krat[oj]” = “power” (5 times). “wr[a]” = “time.” This translates to, “The All” (to pan) and “Lord the (o) God” (masculine) “the” (o) [One] […] “time power” (feminine).

And, what does […] mean?

The definite article, “to pan” (the all – neuter) cannot apply to “God” (masculine) or to “time” (feminine)

but precedes “Power” (neuter).

What we need here is a neuter gender word, or a participle, that makes sense in this sentence. I am

disappointed that the new name for “God” is not dogmatically recorded in the Bible. The Bible

translators rendering, “the Almighty” (o Pantokratwr) seems to be a guess rather than a translation. But in years of translating I have run across many “iffy” translations requiring “supplied” words by the

translator. We will settle on this definition:

Kurioj o Qeoj o [One] (fulavvssontej) [keeping] to pan krat[oj] wr[a].

Lord, the God, the [One] [keeping] the all power [and] time.***

NOTE: “Lord” was used in harmony with the Hebrew Grammar, that “”the” was not connected to “Lord.”

[The Jews’ fake name, “the Lord” is exposed by Hebrew Grammar. God, in His extreme wisdom, chose

to witness to Israel by quoting the Jews’ corrupt Septuagint, possibly because they were familiar with it.

But at the same time, Iesous condemned the Septuagint when declaring, “I Am” (Egw eimi; Jn 8.23, 24, 58); also Iesous claimed “power to forgive sins” – which belongs to God only. But the Jews had

corrupted Deuteronomy 6.4, $xa, reading, “Brother of you”; by overwriting the letter “K” and changing it to a letter “D” producing, “Lord (Kurioj) is one” (eij). But this was sloppy work and childishness. However, the wise one will believe that Iesous and His “ones sent” (apostles) quoting the Septuagint was

not meant to endorse it. The very first verse proves this point.

HEBREW: “In beginning (plural) Gods (myhla) creating of the heavens and of the earth.” SEPTUAGINT: In beginning the (#1) God (#2) (o Qeoj) cteated (#3) the heaven (#4) and the earth.” (#1) There is no definite article with “Gods.”

(#2) “Gods” is plural, and not singular.

(#3) “creating” is a participle, and not a Greek Aorist verb.

(#4) “heavens” is always plural in the Hebrew; because of Night and Day (mymvh).]

CONCLUSION:

This is as close as we can get to a correct definition. We believe that this is more accurate than, “the

Almighty.”

NOTE: God had been “reunited” and so, “There is no more ‘Iesous’ today!”

REPEAT: “There is no more ‘Iesous’ today!”

“Iesous” was flesh and blood. There is no “flesh and blood” in Third Heaven. “Iesous” is not recorded in

the New Covenant Scripture. This was from Revelation 4.1 to Revelation 22.16, which begins a “Good-

bye Salutation” to John and the Jews being addressed in AD 67 – before the resurrection.

Page 67: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

67

THIS IS SHOCKING NEWS!

The Papacy and the Pope (Beast and False Prophet) had been deceiving men for 1900 years to worship a

“dead body.” The “Reunion of God” had changed, “Iesous” into, “One Reunited God.” And, “Anointed”

into “The Lamb.” Paul stated the transformation of our bodies and of Iesous’ body in these words:

“For as in the Adam all die, so also in the anointed [Body] all will be made alive. But each in his own

order, Anointed [not “Iesous”] firstfruits [AD 32], then the [ones] of the Anointed at the coming of Him

(AD 77). Then The End (of Time), when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He

abolishes all rule and all authority and power” – 1 Cor 15.22-24.

“It is sown a natural body (Iesous), it is raised a spirirual body (Lord, the God)” – Ibid., 15.44,

“And this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood are not able to inherit name (klhr onom[a]hsai) of kingdom of God, nor the corruption (Iesous) the incorruption (Lord, the God). Look, I tell you a mystery,

we will not all sleep (die), but all will be changed in a moment (AD 77 and also Final Resurrection), in

twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet [of the Old Covenant], for a trumpet will sound (Mt 24.31) and the

dead will be raised incorruptible [Iesus became God] and we will be changed. For it is necessary this

corruptible to put on incorruption [a new body – vs 15.38] and the mortal, this to put on immortality …

then will come to pass … ‘Death was swallowed up in victory. Death where is the sting of you? Hell

where is the victory of you?” – 1 Cor 15.50-54.

NOTE: “Anointed [Spirit] [the] firstfruits.” This is also recorded, “first born of the dead” (Rev 1.5). As

the human servants of God were predicted to change – so Iesous Anointed changed when He ascended to

Third Heaven.

[There is a long, and involved story of Iesous in “Paradise” (Luke 23.43), which explains how, “”The Son

of the man standing from right of the God” (Acts 7.56). But we have no room for it here.]

Not only “Iesous” was changed, but “Anointed” was changed also, and “it” (Spirit = neuter gender) had a

new name, which will be recorded in Revelation, Chapter Five. Therefore, anyone having doubts about

“Iesous” changing, should be convinced by “Anointed” being changed.

ALTHOUGH THERE IS “NO IESOUS” (Body and Blood Today) HE IS STILL THE “SAVIOR OF

THE WORLD.”

Salvation was purchased for us – IN THE PAST – IN AD 32.

The writers of the Bible state this fact clearly. Therefore, we do not need a “living body” to be saved,

although it is written, “we will be saved by the life of Him” (Rom 5.10). It is also clear that this “life” is

in the “reunited God.” But we are also told that we were saved – in the past.

“And He is a sin offering concerning the sins of us, not concerning the ones of us only, but also

concerning [those] whole of the world” – 1 Jn 2.2.

NOTE: In other words, the offering “once for all” (Heb 7.27, Heb 9.26, Heb 9.28, Heb 10.10) will

continue until the End of Time. Paul explained that this “once for all” was so that Iesous did not have to

suffer “often” (Heb 9.25). This was also made clear by Isaiah,

“And ‘He Is’ (hwhy) delighting oppressing Him, sickening Him. When you do trespass [offering] of soul of Him, He will see seed, He will prolong days and delighting ‘He Is’ (hwhy) in hand of Him, He will prosper” – Isaiah 53.10.

“Flesh and blood” – on earth, are our sin offering. But this was, “once only” – in AD 32.

Page 68: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

68

This “sin offering” is good throughout time by the promise of God.

“This fountain opened … for sin” (Zec 13.1) also reached back to “the mourning” (lba h; Abel; Heb

11.4).

The servant of God, and the student of the Bible, must remind himself continuously that, “God is

supernatural!”

“… fell on the faces of them and worshipped the God, saying, ‘We thank You, Lord, the God, the [One]

[keeping] the all power and time” – Rev 11.16-17.

NOTE: This was the 24 Elders praising God in Third Heaven, in AD 67 – when Revelation was written.

John records “flashbacks” to his being raised up to heaven with the 24 Elders through out Revelation. He

quotes their praises to God while being in Third Heaven. They use His “new name.”

“And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of the God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, ‘Great and

marvelous the works of You, Lord, the God, the [One] [keeping] the all power [and] time, righteous and

true the ways of You, The King of the nations” – Rev 15.3.

NOTE: This was the Resurrection of the Martyrs (AD 1775) in Third Heaven.

“And I heard saying of the altar, ‘Yes, Lord, the God, the [One] [keeping] the all power [and] time, true

and righteous the judgments of You” – Rev 16.7. o Pantokratwr. NOTE: This was “the angel of the waters” praising God in Third Heaven for the defeat of Papal forces on

the “rivers of the Alps,” from AD 1798 to 1802.

“For they are spirits of demons doing signs, which come out on the kings of the whole ‘house of

dwelling’ (earth) to gather them into the battle of that day of the great God of The [One] [keeping] the all

power [and] hill*” – Rev 16.14. tou Pantokratoroj = Alternate New Name. NOTE: This is the gathering together for Mountain of Megiddo (Armageddon), which gathering was the

Balkan Wars, AD 1912-13.

“And I saw the heaven having been opened, and look, a white horse (Victory) and one sitting on it …

And out of His mouth (/The Word of the God – vs 13) proceeds a sword, double-edged, and sharp, in

order that in her (auth) He might strike the nations. And He [Iesous before the resurrection in AD 77] will shepherd them with an iron rod. And He (Lamb) treads the winepress of the wine of the wrath of the

wrath of the God the [One] [keeping] the all power [and] time” – Rev 19.15. tou Qeou tou Pantokratoroj. “Hill” was again substituted for “time.” But this was only done two times. “Times” was recorded five times.

NOTE: The “treading the winepress” was the annihilation of Israel from AD 66 to AD 73 in Masada.

The phrase, “of the wrath” was duplicated for emphasis. The message was from Third Heaven, and so,

the new name of God was used, “The [One] [keeping] the all power [and] time.”

God has shared His wisdom and name with us. These were only recorded in pictures of Third Heaven.

These pictures began in Revelation 4.8, after John was carried to heaven in the Spirit. After that point

“Iesous” was mentioned as: “testimony of Iesous” (12.17, 19.10) and “faith of Iesous” (14.12), and

“testimony of Iesous” (19.10, 19.10), and “witness of Iesous” (20.4), and “I, Iesous have sent My

messenger (angel). But there was no “fleshly body of Iesous, after Revelation 1.9, because He had been

reunited with God.”

IV. Now we will address the changing of “Anointed” to “The Lamb.”

“And I looked in midst of the throne and of the Four Living Creatures, and in midst of the elders,

a Lamb as having been slaughtered, having seven Horns and seven Eyes, which are the Seven Spirits of

Page 69: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

69

the God being sent out into all the earth” – Rev 5.6.

A) SEVEN HEADS,

“Mountains” are kingdoms in prophecy, and “Hills” are smaller kingdoms, and “Heads” are

components of one Kingdom, as the “Seven Pagan Nations” were “Heads/Kings” (17.9-10) of Babylon

(Papal Rome). “Ten Papal States” were smaller concurrent components of the kingdom of the “Beast”

(Papacy). “Heads” (17.7) are components of one kingdom, as the Beast with Seven Heads and Ten Horns

(Rev 13.1).

The Seven Heads (17.9) were: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, Rome and Eastern

Rome. B.W. Johnson, “The Peoples’ New Testament with Notes,” identified these in AD 1891.

B) THE SEVEN HORNS OF THE LAMB are (in my opinion): Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In other words, The Lamb is King of every day.

XXX) The “Anointed” was mentioned five (5) times in the New Covenant Scripture. These

were:

(1) “And the seventh messenger (angel) souded a trumpet, and he became himself [Middle Voice]

a great voice in the heaven (Note) saying, ‘The kingdom of the earth became of the Lord of us, and of the

Anointed of Him, and He (One) will reign into the ages of the ages’” – Rev 11.15.

NOTE: This was, “the mystery of the God was finished”* (Rev 10.7). On September 20, 1870, “Italy ran

the Papacy and Pope Pius IX out of Rome,” and the Millennium was firmly established. But then,

“Anointed” was not pictured to be on earth.

(2) “And I heard a great voice in the heaven (Note), saying, ‘Now he came himself (Middle

Voice) the salvation and the power and the kingdom of the God of us, and the authority of the Anointed

of Him …” – Rev 12.10.

NOTE: This was because Constatine the Great ended persecution of servants of God in AD 312. But

again, “Anointed” was not on earth.

(3) “And the Dragon (Satan – vs 9) was angry over the Woman (New Jerusalem), and he went off

to make war with the rest of the seed of her, the [ones] keeping the commands of the God and having the

testimony of Iesous” – Rev 12.17.

NOTE: Iesous had said, “’The Heaven and the Earth’ (Israel) will pass away, but the words of Me, no,

they might not have passed away” (Mt 24.35). Iesous is the prophet of the God.

(4) “And I saw thrones, and they (Martyrs) sat on them, and judgment was given to them, and the

souls of the [ones] having been beheaded on account the testimony of Iesous and on account of the word

of the God, and those who did not worship the Beast (Papacy) nor the Image of him (Holy Roman

Emperor), and did not receive the Mark (Rev 13.6) on the Forehead (Mind) and on the hand (Service &

War) of them. And they lived and reigned with [servants] of Anointed the thousand years” (Rev 20.4).

NOTE: This is a picture of Third Heaven, and does not involve earth.

(5) “Blessed and holy the [one] having a part in the First Resurrection (AD 1725). On these the

Second Death (Rev 20.14) does not have power, but they will be priests of the God and of Anointed, and

they will reign with Him a thousand years” (Rev 20.6).

NOTE: This is a picture of Third Heaven, and does not involve earth. “The Lamb” was recorded 27 times

in Revelation, and,

“These have one mind [Ten Papal States], and the power and authority of them they give to the Beast

(Papacy). These will make war with The Lamb, and The Lamb will conquer them …” (Rev 17.13-14).

NOTE: The Ten Papal States were conquered in 1870 when their conquered people became, “Italy” and

they drove the Papacy and Pope Pius IX out of Rome.

“And they say to the mountains and to the rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of The [One]

sitting on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb” (Rev 6.16).

NOTE: This was the fall of Catholic Constantinople in AD 1453.

“… and the throne of the God and of the Lamb will be in Her (auth)*” (Rev 22.3). * New Jerusalem.

NOTE: “The God and the Lamb” took an active part in New Jerusalem, which is the New Covenant

kingdom of thhe God. “The Iesous and the Anointed” were worshipped for their accomplishments in the

First Century. “Iesous” is still the “Savior of the world.” However, He suffered, “once for all,” and His

Page 70: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

70

dead body is gone. He is part of the “Reunited God” and, “The God and the Lamb” are to be worshipped

today. However, we are still to mourn for our sins and remember Iesous’ suffering to bring us

forgiveness.

C) SEVEN SPIRITS OF THE GOD FROM BIBLE COMMENTATORS.

I am a historian of Protestant Bible Commentaries, and none of them identified the Seven Spirits.

(A) 7 Spirits – endued with the Spirit of God; Matthew Poole Commentary, AD 1680.

(B) 7 Spirits – Holy Spirit*; The Peoples’ New Testament, AD 1891, B.W. Johnson.

(C) 7 Spirits – All-Conquering Might, All Knowledge and All Power. He Knows the Future, and

is Able to Control it; Halley’s Bible Handbook, 1945. [But then – no Scripture reference.]

(D) 7 Spirits - Christian Baptist monthly magazine; AD 1823-30; Alexander Campbell – not

mentioned.

(E) The Millennial Harbinger monthly magazine, AD 1830-70; A. Campbell; 7 Spirits – not

mentioned.

(F) Geneva Bible, 1599 – 7 Spirits – opening the eyes of John.

(G) Matthew Henry, 1714 – no answer.

(H) Jamieson-Fausset-Brown, 1899 – 7 Spirits – no answer.

(I) Dr. Adam Clarke, 1832 – 7 Spirits – no answer.

(J) Albert Barnes, 1851 – 7 Spirits – no answer.

(K) Revelation, 1969, Leon Morris – 7 Spirits – This may refer to the Holy Spirit* … The seven

eyes on this view denote perfection of seeing. Nothing escapes him.

(L) Interpretation, Revelation, 1989, M. Eugene Boring – 7 Spirits – not mentioned,

(M) The Book of Revelation, 1966, Foy E. Wallace, Jr. – 7 Spirits – symbolic of the perfection of

truth. (1) Power – attribute of supreme and absolute and underived authority.

(2) Riches – unlimited resources to bestow and endow all things pecuniary and spiritual.

(3) Wisdom – Jesus is the wisdom of God …

(4) Strength – the perogative to rule over all things …

(5) Honor – a divine Being …

(6) Glory – the brightness of God …

(7) Blessing – the doxology of the angels, in praise, adoration, thanksgiving, blessing …

NOTE *: 7 Spirits = Holy Spirit. This is true from this proof:

W) The Son of David, the Branch, was “anointed” with “seven Spirits” – Isaiah 11.1-4.

X) “Iesous” was “anointed” with the “the Spirit of God” – Mt 3.16.

Y) “Things equal to the same thing are equal to each other.”

Iesous being anointed = 7 Spirits. Iesous being anointed = Spirit of God.

Therefore – anointing = anointing; and – 7 Spirits = Spirit of God; or, Holy Spirit.

BUT THEN -- that is no help at all. What they have done wrong was to equate the particular (7

Spirits) to the general (Holy Spirit) muddying up the picture. These Seven Spirits of God are to be

received, “in our midst and written on our hearts” (Jer 31.33) – referring to New Jerusalem, in AD 77 and

following.

D) SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD IDENTIFIED BY PARALLEL LISTS.

A) “Wisdom and Understanding (One Spirit; #1), Counsel (One Faith; #2), Might (One God; #3),

Knowledge (One Hope; #4), Fear of ‘He Is’ (hwhy; One Dipping; #5), Judge (One Lord; #6), Righteousness (One Body; #7)” – Isaiah 11.1-4 and Ephesians 4.4-6.

B) “One Spirit (Wisdom; #1), One Faith (Honor; #2), One God (Strength; #3), One Hope (Glory;

#4), One Dipping (Power; #5), One Lord (Riches; #6), One Body (Blessing; #7)” – Ephesians 4.4-6 and

Revelation 5.12.

These Seven Spirits were unknown to me (and to many that I had read) until AD 1997. God revealed

them to me, (when they were unknown to me) although I had been praying for some of them, and praying

Page 71: Gog & Magog (Eze 38 & 39)

71

for an answer to the, “Seven Spirits of God.”

This brought to mind, “The Elijah Syndrome.” Elijah told God, “Who has believed our report?

“And he said, ‘Being zealous, I was zealous to ‘He Is (hwhy) Gods of (yhla) Hosts’ for rejecting them covenant of You, sons of Israel, breaking down them of altars of You and killing them prophets of You

with sword and I AM LEFT, I, TO ALONE and they seek of soul of [me] to taking her’” – 1 Kings 19.10.

The capitalized words are blasphemy against God, and the Elijah Syndrome.

Elijah claimed that he was THE ONLY BELIEVER IN GOD.

God rebuked Elijah:

“And the reserving of Me (YT) in Israel all of seven of thousands that they did not bow the knees to Baal,

and all of the mouth that not kissing to him” – 1 Kings 19.18. [What about the Pope?]

So then, being aware of the “Elijah Syndrome” I was determined not to commit the same sin. But,

instead, I searched the web and found many web sites with the Seven Spirits of God in Isaiah 11.1-4.

But 99 and 9 tenths of the posts on the web about the Seven Spirits are wrong. So this involved a lot of

work to find the right ones.

Since 1997, we have been blessed by God with “new knowledge”” – unknown in the past.

In 1992, God taught us the, “Three Ages of Man” (Pre-flood, Old Heavens, New Heavens in AD 77) –

unknown in the past.

In 2004, God taught us the “Beginning of the Eleven Year Period of Casting the Beast and the False

Prophet into the lake of fire” (Rev 20.10). This period is: AD 2004-2015.

This was only possible by knowing “The Eleven Year Period of Casting the Beast and the False Prophet

into the lake of fire before” (June 4, 1859 to September 20, 1870).

In 2006, God taught about four on the web His Old Testament name – unknown before, which is “He Is”

(hwhy).

WHAT IS THE REASON WE ARE RECEIVING ALL THIS “NEW KNOWLEDGE”?

The reason is obvious – to promote change!

We will be led to “change” by a “real words” Bible translation; including the Names of the Gods.

I have already published some of this Bible.

I will continue to publish more of it.

I feel confident that “others” will join me in this holy work of love.

“Anything” is better than what you now have available to you.
