On this occasion, Mr. Mustafa Al Sayed expressedpleasure for the successful event and record catches. He said without the enthusiasm and participation of allthe employees this annual event could not have beensuccessful. It is also an event that brings together allthe Company’s employees in a friendly atmospherethat has a positive outcome on the job environment.

This is further enhanced by the project’s charitableaims and cultivates a charitable spirit among all theworkers in the Company. He reiterated the Company’sdetermination to hold this competition on an annualbasis. He noted with satisfaction the record catchesachieved this year. This is further evidence of the re-sponse of the employees to this voluntary activitythrough greater participant numbers and more enthu-siasm. Due to the tremendous success of this event over thelast eight years, the General Manager will propose theformation of a fishing competition committee for in-dustrial companies, similar to the volleyball and soccertournaments organised by industrial firms.GPIC organises the fishing competition on an annualbasis as part of its diverse programmes for supportingcharities on the island by giving the fish catches tolocal charities and societies.
