Konfigurasi DualBand System
Sistem dualband terpasang denganmengopersikan atau menambahkanperangkat hardware cabinet BTS DCS1800 pada sistem GSM 900 yang sudahada.
Jaringan yang bekerja pada GSM900 danDCS 1800, dianggap sebagai suatu
jaringan dengan PLMN tunggal.
Implementasi jaringan dualband ini dapatditerapkan dalam beberapa kombinasiantara lain :
1. Satu BSC dengan satu jenis band
2. Satu BSC dengan dua jenis band
3. Satu BTS dengan dua jenisband MSC/HLR

Spesifikasi MSC DualBand :
MSC dapat mendukungperalatan BSS dari vendoryang
berbeda untuk setiap bandfrekuensi. Agar dualbandmampu bekerja dengan baik,maka MSC perlu memilikikemampuan untuk menanganielemen informasi classmark3(CM3 dikirim oleh MS dualbandke MSC berisi informasikemampuan MS)
Spesifikasi MS Dualband &Mekanisme Penanganan MS DualBandDalam Jaringan:
Suatu MS dapat beroperasipada jaringan dualband dengan caraantara lain, MS hanya mendukung satuband atau MS dapat mendukung lebihdari satu band tapi hanya dapatberfungsi pada satu band

Mekanisme DualbandMekanisme penanganan MS dualband
tersebut dapat dijelaskan sebagaiberikut :
1. MS akan dipegang oleh jaringanDCS 1800 layer pada duakondisi idle mode dan dedicatedmode selama tersedia kanal dalamcakupan radio DCS 1800
2. MS dapat ditangani danmembangun panggilan pada selDCS 1800.
3. MS yang berada pada layer GSM900 dapat ditangani kelayer bawah (DCS 1800) jika
memungkinkan.4. MS yang berada pada layer DCS1800 akan dipindahkanpemegangan kanalnya ke layer atas
(GSM 900 ) jika hanyadiperlukan.
