Swim-a-thon 100x100 challenge (9 am–1 pm) The 100x100 swim challenge has been an annual event to raise money for Strong Kids for many years and now is your chance to brave the challenge! 100x100 means swimming 100m (or 4 lengths of the pool), 100 mes…no big deal! You have 4 hours… go at your own pace and if you actually finish, you’ll be able to brag to all your friends who run 10km that you swam 10km! If that sounds like too much for you, why not challenge yourself to 50x100, as long as it’s a personal challenge to you. SIGN UP! Event package and informaon will be emailed to you aſter you register. Deep Water Aquafit-a-Thon (9 am–11 am) Bust out the floang belts, hand bells and paddles for this 2 hour Aqua fit Challenge. This deep water class will contain a variety of drills, exercises and use of mulple pieces of equipment. You will definitely leave red and pruney! Event package and informaon will be emailed to you aſter you register. Yogathon (8 am–11 am) Time to limber up and aempt to complete 3 straight hours of yoga! If you can’t put your legs behind your head aſter this…we give up! Enjoy a variety of standing, seated and laying poses. There is no pressure to complete all three hours, just parcipang is what counts. Plus you get to soak up the amazing energy and help support our Strong Kids Campaign. How’s that for posive Karma? Sprint Triathlon Challenge (10:30 am Swim Start) New to Triathlon or want to try it for the first time? The

Sprint Triathlon Challenge is for you! Complete a 30 minute

swim at your own pace before heading up to the Spin Bikes

and joining the Iron Triathlon participants for an hour of

indoor riding. (You’re welcome to bring your own bike and

trainer.) After a quick transition we will all head outside for a

5km or 10km run…or as far as your legs will take you!

Endurance Challenge (6 am–8 am, 8:30 am–10:30 am, 11 am–1:00 pm) How long and how far can you go? Find out by signing up for

one of the 2 hours blocks, pick your favorite pieces of cardio

equipment and just GO…and GO…and GO! Challenge your

endurance and go farther and faster then you have gone

before!

Strength Challenge (10 am, 11 am) We’re going to PUMP YOU UP!

Hey Arnold, how much can you bench? How many Chin ups

can you do? Who really is the “STRONGEST” at H2O? Take the

challenge and see if it’s you. Challenges will include bench

press, plank hold, push-ups/chin-ups/sit-ups max in one

minute and more…

Bragging rights and protein shakes to the ultimate H2O Strong

Man & Woman Challenger!

½ Marathon or 10k or 5k Challenge (12:15 pm) Want to go for a run? This “fun” run is a non competitive group

run where you and a bunch of your friends can challenge

yourselves at any distance you choose. You can run hard, jog

and even walk this scenic route up and down the Greenway.

You will be responsible for your own nutrition and hydration

and the watch on your arm will be your timing system! Great

training session or opportunity to experience a running “race”

in a non-competitive, less intimidating and friendly

environment.

H2O Amazing Race (12pm–6pm) A fun family-friendly adventure race for teams of two or four

that’s sure to get your blood pumping and put a smile on your

face Your family team will battle to complete our H2O

Passport by solving clues and participating in a fast-paced

course of wacky challenges throughout the facility. Beware:

These challenges require teamwork, quick thinking and a sense

of humour ;). So if you’re up for the task H2O is waiting for you.

FlowRider® Competition (1pm–5pm) Everyone is welcome to take part in the YMCA Strong Kids

Megathon FlowRider® Competition. Depending on your

preferred riding style, you’ll have the ability to participate as a

beginner, freestyle or technical rider. There will be tons of

prizing, a live DJ, and fun for all! Free Jam session Friday Night

before the day of the event to work out any last tricks! Event

Friday, February 28, 2014 Basketball Tournament (8pm–8am) Overnight 3 on 3 b-ball for ages 16 and up! 3–4 players per

team, 20 minute games. We will have tunes from DJ Rob.otics,

Pizza and pancakes, and a Skills Competition. And remember,

you’ll be a superhero! What more could you ask for?

The Big Lift (12pm–3pm) Strong legs for Strong Kids! Help us deadlift a total of 25000lbs!

Test your strength one rep at a time until we discover who is

the strongest of them all. Every pull will get added towards the

total accumulated weight lifted in helping us to reach our goal.

Triathlon Challenge (8am–5pm) New to Triathlon or want to try it for the first time? The

Triathlon Challenge is for you! Complete a 30 minute swim at

your own pace before heading upstairs to a stationary bike for

an hour of indoor riding. (You’re welcome to bring your own

bike and trainer.) After a quick transition hop onto a treadmill

for your final 5 – 10km run!

Zumbathon (9am–11am) Move your hips to help kids! Help us fill the gym with as many

people as possible and challenge yourself to 2 hours of Zumba.

This Zumbathon is sure to get your heart pumping and soul

jumping as you are helping local kids through our Strong Kids

program. Grab your water bottle and bring a friend. We’re

going to be Zumba-ing together for the sake of healthier and

happier kids! Don’t wait, register now!

Yogathon (11am–1pm) Will you down dog so one child can have a month long

membership at the YMCA? Bring a friend to balance in tree

pose and help make it possible for a child to enroll in a after-

school program.

Yogathon offers a little bit of everything to rest, rejuvenate,

and challange yourself.

*Chair available for participants who would like to do seated

postures.

All Day Spin Challenge (8am–5pm) Spin your heart out to improve the lives of local kids. Challenge

yourself and see how long you can spin for! There will be

instructors changing throughout the day to ensure we have

multiple hours of continuous spinning! Grab a friend, challenge

your spouse, bring a coworker, and see how many hours you

can put in. Remember, it’s all for the kids! You must register for

each time slot. They’ll fill fast, so sign up today!

Walkathon (Walking Track Challenge) (8am–4pm) Challenge yourself with a personal time or distance goal, while

we work together to see how far we can walk as a community.

This Walkathon will be taking place on the walking track all day

long. We encourage you to really push yourself as we push to

build a healthier community. Your laps, whether 2 or 200, will

allow local kids to enjoy the YMCA! Let’s end childhood

inactivity one step at a time! Register today!

Cardio Challenge (8am–5pm) Ever wanted to climb Everest? Or run to Penticton? Then the

cardio challenge is for you! You and your team of up to 8 are

being challenged to keep a piece of cardio equipment active

for 4 hours. Divide up the duties with your team as you see fit

but keep that machine moving! See how far you can go while

keeping your heart rate elevated.

Table Tennis Challenge (9am–5pm) Calling all table tennis enthusiasts! How long can you rule the

table for? Battle a friend, or someone new; you can play

another round for each game you win. Maybe you will forever

be remembered as ‘The Great’… or you simply have a chance to

show your skills. Come out, have fun, and be a hero for kids!

Mega Karate Class (1pm–2pm) Whether you are young or old new to karate or a seasoned

black belt, join Rodney Hobson from Rodney Hobson’s Karate

Academy to put on the largest Y karate class ever!

Aqua Zumbathon (2pm–4pm) Splash and dance to help local kids! We invite you to get in the

water and get movin’ for 2 hours to help local children. Let’s

Drop-in Lobby Events Test your power! Challenge yourself or challenge your friends,

and see who has the most power in these three events.

Set a record!

In this drop-in bodyweight challenge, test your endurance and

see if you can set a record that can’t be beaten. Do the most

push-ups, sit-ups, longest wall sit, or choose your own

bodyweight exercise. Current record holders for each

bodyweight exercise will be posted until record is broken.
