1 4-H Enrollment Begins September 1 4-H’ers may begin enrolling in 4hOnline on September 1 and must be enrolled by December 1. New members may enroll up unl May 15, 2017. All club enrollment fees must be received by the Extension Office and online forms completed, in order to be an acve member. To re-enroll, go to www.4hOnline.com. 4-H Volunteer Nancy Spain Earns 4-H Hall of Fame

Recognition from Clinton County Extension

Nancy Spain, long time leader of the Delmar Hot Shots 4-H Club, was inducted in to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame at the Iowa State Fair. Honorees were selected by their respective counties for their service and dedication to 4-H, contributions to the lives of 4-H’ers and the program. Inductees served as club leaders, fair board members, council members, fair judges, financial supporters, ISU Extension and Outreach staff members and more. The inductees have demonstrated dedication, encouragement, commitment and guidance to Iowa’s 4-H’ers through their years of service. Biographies of this year’s inductees to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame are available on the Iowa 4-H Foundation website, www.iowa4hfoundation.com. Join the Clinton County 4-H Youth Council– September 25

The County 4-H Youth Council is recruiting new members for the 2016-2017 4-H year. The 4-H Youth Council is a group of high school 4-H'ers (grades 9-12) who participate in community service, leadership projects, and plan fun educational activities for 4-H members. County Council members must be able to attend monthly meetings and participate in council planned activities. This group will meet at the Clinton County Extension Office once a month on the fourth Sunday. The first meeting will be on Sunday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m. If you are interested in participating, please come to this meeting and learn what County Council is all about!

Clinton County 4-H Club Information

The County Youth Council is working on a new brochure to distribute during National 4-H week (October 2-8) that gives individuals information about the 4-H and Clover Kids clubs in Clinton County. We would like to include at least one picture along with a few sentences about your club, as well as club meeting information. Please send your club’s information to Kaitlyn Ketelsen at [email protected] before September 23.

All 4-H Records Due to Clinton County

Extension Office September 23

Youth who completed records, such as: personal record books, project records, and officer records, during the 2015-16 4-H year will be recognized and will receive awards at the 4-H Fire-Up and Recognition event. First year members and graduated seniors who submitted a record book for 9 years will be recognized, along with volunteers for their years of service. In order to make this happen, all records must be in at the Clinton County Extension office no later than September 23 at 3:00 pm. Leaders will not judge records for their clubs this year. All recordkeeping forms may be found on the Clinton County 4-H

Personal 4-H Records:

You can complete your record book in any way that is meaningful to you. You can add awards, pictures, newspaper clippings, and more. It is important to arrange information in a way that makes sense. You are encouraged to create your own record keeping system, whether you want to create a DVD, Portfolio, or use computerized formats. Please be sure to read all of the information carefully. The forms you need to include in your record book are as follows: One 4-H Yearly Summary, One 4-H Project Record (one for each project), One Record Keeping Self Evaluation Form

4-H Club Officer Books:

If you are the Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter, or Historian of your club, you are required to submit your club officer records to the Clinton County Extension office by September 23 at 3:00 pm. Each club is required to submit their Treasurer book (financial records) and Secretary minutes no later than September 23. Financial guidelines and a copy of the requirements that Leaders and Club Treasurers received last fall may be found on the Clinton County 4-H Recordkeeping webpage (web link listed above).

4-H Project Awards:

The Project Award application form, criteria, and evaluation form are posted on the Clinton County 4-H recordkeeping webpage (web link listed above). 4-Hers who have completed grades 4-12 are eligible to apply. Forms are due to the Clinton County Extension Office by Friday, September 23 at 3:00 p.m. Please take the time to read through all of the information. Applicants who are in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to enter their project for a state award.
