FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
We are very excited about our Grade 8 enrolment and
the large number of new learners that have joined us in
Grades 9 to 12. I am very impressed by the way our
parents are supporting our uniform policy and the neat
appearance of all our learners.

Hoërskool Pearson High School
ALL PARENTS TO READ THIS PLEASE! I really want to thank all Pearson parents for their
unbelievable support at matches, especially those
played over weekends. It is a very encouraging sight
to see so many parents enjoying the sport while their
children are representing Pearson.
In order to ensure that such moments remain pleas-
ant and enjoyable, I should like parents to take note of
the following:
→Please don't get involved in the practices of the
coaches and their players. Your intention might be
well-meant, but in such cases rather ask if you can
assist in the coaching by contacting the sports' office
staff. Practices are such special training opportunities
between coaches and the members of their teams.
→Parents cannot become involved in the discussion
or team-talk between a coach and team members.
Similarly the teams' composition, game plan, batting
order and the like are the coaches' prerogative and
remain non-negotiable.
→I want to be proud of the players and the parents
supporting them and politely request parents not to
make negative or disparaging remarks about the
coach, umpire, referee or any player.
→No parent should run onto the field-of-play during
half-time to speak to a coach, umpire or any member
of the team. The same applies when a player is in-
jured during a match. In this case, parents should
please wait until the medical team has had a chance to
ascertain the condition of the injured player. Parents
should only approach the injured
player once he/she has been safely
escorted off the playing area.
→We always welcome positive sup-
port (from the stands) that is in line
with the ethos of a school fixture.
I should appreciate it if parents would assist the school
by complying with these requests.

Debating Pearson's first debate of the sea-

both our league team and shadow team lost their
debates, but we look forward to victories in the
upcoming debates. Our next debate will be on
Thursday, 13 February against Lawson Brown.
