    Christmas Eve is on 24th December.In UK children hang their stockings on the chimney and leave milk

    and biscuits for Father Christmas in order to get presents from him.

    Why do children hang up Christmas stockings?FATHER CHRISTMAS once dropped some gold coins while coming down the

    chimney. The coins would have fallen through the ash grate and would been lost

    if they hadn't landed in a stocking that had been hung out to dry. Since thattime children have continued to hang out stockings in hopes of finding them

    filled with gifts.

    Christmas presents are opened on Christmas Day.

    Children wake up very early in the

    morning to find if their stockings havebeen filled by Father Christmas and

    unwrap the presents before going down

    to breakfast.

    The parade starts at noon walking down the streets via Whitehall,

    Pall Mall and finishing in Berkley square.

    Musicians, dancers, acrobats, drummers and other entertainers do agreat job . Music, dance and fireworks complete the atmosphere.

    By the seventh century, he was credited as

    the patron saint of Ireland.
