My Brother Knights;
This Fraternal Year—2017,2018—will be my last as Editor of the Council Newsletter. I am taking this time to announce my decision in the hope and expectancy that someone will step-up and take over this responsibility.
I thank all who have had confidence in giving me the opportunities to serve this Order and Section of the Knights of Columbus.
To anyone who would like to take over after June 2018, let’s talk now so as to make easy the transfer of responsibility.
Fraternally,
GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE
Greeting Brother Knights, I hope that you all are well as we approach the month of November. Some recent happenings with
our Council Knights are on Tuesday, October 10th we had our Installation of Officers ceremony which was
officiated by our District Deputy Bud Stewart. Congratulations to all of our newly installed officers. We al-
so wrapped up on the selling tickets portion of our football sweep fundraiser. Thanks to all who participat-
ed with this event. A special thanks to John De Stefanis who once again was the driving force in making
this a very successful event.
With All Saints Day approaching I wanted to provide a brief history on the saints of our local par-
ishes. St. Matthew was one of Jesus Apostles and witnessed his resurrection and ascension. St. Timothy
lived in the first century and became St. Paul’s disciple and assisted in writing the New Testament. St.
Dominic lived in the 13th century. He started the Order of Preachers more popularly known as the Domini-
can Order and spread the practice of praying the Rosary. St Catherine of Siena lived in the 14th century
was a member of the Dominican Order. She had many visions of Jesus beginning at age five and continued
to see him throughout her life. She also had visions of St. Dominic. We also continue to pray that our
Knights of Columbus founder Father Michael McGivney be granted Sainthood.
