This sanctuary may be temporary as they have traveled around the neighbor- hood in recent weeks. Along with performing various tumbles, cartwheels, head stands and other routines in their individual classes, Lilly Rippe competed in an optional routine and Michaela and Allison Rippe performed in the “Synchronized Performance” division. It was a busy day for the students and a fun, exciting day for family and friends. Ron and Cindy Sattler visited Diane Ruppert over the weekend to celebrate Megan’s 18th birthday. They enjoyed cake and ice cream. Dana, Payton, Paycie and Parker Juenemann of Atwood were Sat - urday evening supper guests. After supper they checked for new baby calves with Papa and petted his fa- vorite bull before heading home. Lindsay Davis, Humboldt, Iowa, is visiting Justin, Jennifer and Ma- son Davis this week. Lindsay will enjoy spending all week with Mason while mom and dad work. Sunday lunch guests there were Ron and Peach Beims, Herndon, and Fred and Connor Beims, Ulysses. Herndon NewsBy Julie Hafner

Sarah, Aaron, Gideon, Isaiah and Genesis White, Norton, were Saturday visitors of Dave and Judy Ketterl. Adam and Angela Ketterl of Atwood were brief visitors in the late afternoon.

St. Mary’s Christian Mothers Altar Society will hold their meet-ing following Mass on Sunday. All women of the parish are invited to attend.

Jackie Votapka, Clifton, and Julie Hafner enjoyed lunch at the LandMark in Oberlin on Saturday. Jackie visited family in Oberlin and attended a birthday party in the afternoon before returning home.

Rachel Grafel spent the weekend with her parents, Kyle and Cindi Grafel. They all attended the per-formance of the Rawlins County High School Concert Show Choir on Saturday night in Atwood.

Traveling north of Herndon on Highway 117, the eye will notice two burros making their home at the Jerry Niemeth farmstead. This sanctuary may be temporary as they have traveled around the neighbor-hood in recent weeks. Donkeys are the forgotten equine so if driving by, be sure to take some carrots and give these animals a little attention. Jerry said they love hanging out by the fence and might even show-off a little for you.

Theresa Rippe, Wyatt Rippe, Lindsey Meixner and Michelle Stevens joined Kevin and Megan Rippe and family at the Creative Movements Gymnastic Invitational meet in Atwood on Saturday. With a “Parade of Gymnasts” beginning the day, 194 gymnasts from Atwood, Oberlin, St. Francis, Goodland and Colby competed in several areas.

Dana, Payton, Paycie and Parker Juenemann of Atwood were Sat-urday evening supper guests. After supper they checked for new baby calves with Papa and petted his fa-vorite bull before heading home.

Lindsay Davis, Humboldt, Iowa, is visiting Justin, Jennifer and Ma-son Davis this week. Lindsay will enjoy spending all week with Mason while mom and dad work. Sunday

lunch guests there were Ron and Peach Beims, Herndon, and Fred and Connor Beims, Ulysses.

Alan and Ann Solko, Sharon Ecker, Pat Solko, Rachelle Solko, Herndon; Jane Waterman, Atwood, and Mary Padgett, McCook, at-tended the Rawlins County Show Choir Concert Saturday evening. John Solko and Jake Williams represented Herndon in the choir. The show was deemed a huge suc-cess with choir members sharing their obvious talents. The delicious dinner was prepared by the school cooking staff and served by the choir members.
