A N O T E F R O M K A T I E

Each year beginning around March 1, the days seem

to pick up their pace a notch or two, and the next

thing I realize- we’re headed straight into May!

Is it a coincidence that this aligns with the time

we finalize our product preparations and plans for

the National Stationery Show...to be coordinated

logistically from our beach-side studio about 1000

miles down the coast? I think not! I have to say I

am incredibly proud of the work my team and I have

accomplished in the past few months. With the help

of Crow and Canary, we’ve more than tripled our

brick-and-mortar resellers in the past 6 months,

and my nimble little team expertly kept our ball

rolling allowing me to delve into some really

great new products I can’t wait to debut

at NSS. We have four unique new calendars to

offer for 2016 including a highly requested handy

appointment style calendar which features large

write-in areas and room for notes. I’ve also been

working on a fun new product category-Placemat

Pads! These disposable mats are made with

post-consumer papers, and are perfect for parties

and picnics. There is not much like them on the

market today, so I’m excited to see how they’ll

be received. We’re also debuting a pet project of

mine–oversized poster art prints! You won’t have

to look far to see what has been inspiring me

lately; the bright and bold flora and fauna of

the tropics! It touches everything from the

aforementioned calendars (hello giant tropical

birds!) to fun new disposable placemat pads,

notepads, and of course our everyday cards.

We have some additional exciting studio news!

In Spring of 2016, our Stationery & Gift line I

designed for Galison will hit the shelves. It was

so fun to produce the pencils, stickers, pads,

and journals for a brand I’ve long admired. In

addition, we’re also welcoming Emily Harrison-Ach

as our new Studio Coordinator, and Tiffany

De Bruyn as our new Wholesale Manager–I’m sure

you’ll all have a chat with her sooner or later.

Lots of new things means lots to be excited for!

I loved creating it.

CANCELL AT IONSFor all orders cancelled after dispatch/shipping,

we charge a $25 re-stocking fee in addition to our

original shipping costs. Retailers are required

to notify us of cancellation requests within 5

business days of order receipt and return the

Idlewild Co. is a boutique paper goods company founded in 2010

by Katie Gastley. Katie has lent her artistic talents to such

brands as: Martha Stewart Living, Penguin Children’s Books,

Hugo Boss, Sonix, and Galison Publishers. What would become

a nationally distributed stationery line began with a pop-

up at the Renegade Festival in McCarren Park, Brooklyn. A

few shoppers noticed her hand-painted Brooklyn neighborhood

prints and asked if Katie would create wedding stationery

based on the artwork- and she did! With a robust collection

of hand-painted wedding suites under her belt, she expanded

her work into a fully branded line of stationery that debuted

at the National Stationery Show in 2012. In a few short years,

the brand has grown roots and taken shape, selling through

hundreds of stores across America. Originally upstarted in

Brooklyn New York, the shop and studio were relocated to the

sunny shores of Vero Beach, Florida in 2013 where they operate

and ship from today.

Idlewild Co. goods can be found at brick-and-mortar locations

throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia,

and Japan.

M I S S I O N

Idlewild Co.’s mission is driven by a passion for unique,

artisanal quality products that offer a breath of fresh air

in a sometimes overly-mass produced gift market. We use local

printers for 100% of our goods, and source all of our paper

materials from sustainable FSC-Certified stocks. Our line is

distinctly graphic with sometimes a bit of an edge–a fun &

fresh alternative to correspondence of yore. We design every-

thing at our beachside studio and partner with print vendors

in manufacturing. We assemble everything by hand in-house

and aim to produce the high quality pieces our customers love

themselves, and love to share.
