Experiencing Contrasts in South AfricaDawn Navis spent several weeks during January in Welcome, Free State, South Africa. She will share her unique experiences with our community on Sunday, February 23 at 2 p.m. Come and hear about the social and economic contrasts in this distant location. Dawn worked with children in an orphanage as well as traveled on an African safari, so she saw the hopeless as well as the hope-filled elements of the society. Everyone is welcome to this one–hour presentation. Refreshments will be served.
Spring ProgramsThe spring library programs for children begin the week of January 27. There are openings in the Story Times for pre-school age children as well as in the afterschool clubs. Check the library website for specific dates and times. Registration for the 10-week program is required and can be done online when you visit the library website at www.sewardlibrary.org.
If weather conditions cause the Seward Public Schools to close there will be no children’s programs at the library.
February Holiday Craft in the LibraryOn Tuesday, February 4 Seward Memorial Library will host a “Make a Valentine” crafts program.

by stopping in the library, calling 402-643-3318 or visiting www.sewardlibrary.
Thank youThe library would like to thank all of the individuals who donated materials in December for the special holiday events. The staff appreciates the stocking wish list materials that were provided too. Every item whether small or large makes a difference and helps keep your library a vibrant part of the community.
Living in Two CountriesJoanne and David Neeley have a unique life. They have an address in Seward and they have an address in Mexico. They have enjoyed two homes for about six years. How do they navigate living in two countries? Come to the library on Sunday, February 9 at 2 p.m. to hear their story. Have the changes in government policies affected their community south of the border? What are the challenges they face as well as the benefits of this situation? Spend an hour with the Neeleys and bring your questions. Refreshments will be served.
