(espite the )average* person considering these people to have perfectlives, their lack of true self esteem lead to a rejection of themselves. %sa result, they e!perienced much pain and psychological discomfort intheir lives.

In case you don4t know what self talk is, self talk is a term used todescribe how you speak to yourself on a daily basis.

It is those little voices in your head that either encourage you, tellingyou what a good job you have done. r the voices which tell you how

you are never going to achieve something, or how you messedsomething up.

+ow you talk to yourself today, is often a reflection of how yourparents talked to you as a child. "o for e!ample, if you call yourself anidiot after doing something wrong, it is likely you were called an idiotby your parent5s6 when you did something wrong.

The most common form of self talk is negative, and usually involvesputting yourself down or doubting your ability to do something.

It is very destructive because it is often done without really thinkingabout it, and on a day to day basis.

The affect of negative self talk serves to reinforce limiting beliefs intothe mind, thereby reducing your overall level of confidence and beliefin what you are capable of.

bviously this will lower your self esteem. "o monitoring andimproving the way you talk to yourself is an easy and effective way ofimproving self esteem.

+ave you ever noticed how you feel good around some people, whilstyou feel tense, an!ious or uncomfortable around others3 This occursbecause the way a person is feeling affects the energy field, or aura, that surrounds them.

hen you are filled with negativity you emit a negative aura aroundyou. This aura will repel people and make them feel uncomfortable inyour presence.

+owever as a survival mechanism human beings are geneticallyprogrammed to mimicor model those around them, and as a result aree!tremely susceptible to e!ternal influences.

ne common belief told to children is that if they don4t get goodgrades they won4t get a good job.

'ut as you saw in >art 0, this belief is false. There are manysuccessful millionaires in the world, many of whom never even finished

    school.

+owever should a child finish school with poor grades and accept thislimiting false belief, they are then likely to believe success issomething they cannot achieve.

Their belief system simply does not allow for the possibility of success,

and as a result they most likely will never achieve it.

    Chan&in& !elief S'stems

f course there are many, many other factors which influence ourbeliefs. These beliefs are usually formed at an early age and unlesschanged, stay with us for the rest of our lives.

The important point however is that whilst some beliefs may benefitus, many do not, and only serve to limit what you believe you can

    achieve.

'ut if you can change these belief systems, you will change what youthink is possible, and ultimately what you can achieve.

I firmly believe that anything is possible. You just have to know what todo, how to do it, then keep doing it until you succeed. If you want tobecome successful, it is necessary for you to believe you can becomesuccessful.

You first need to remove your limiting beliefs and replace them withones that are congruent with what you would like to achieve.

'ut remember, believing something will not automatically make ithappen. It merely opens the door of possibility. Your job is to walkthrough that door and make it a reality:
