Information from the Principal Dear Parents, The end of the first quarter is November 1st! Report cards should arrive in the home by November 15 th . Please contact the school if you do not receive your student’s report card. If your student needs some extra support, please encourage them to check in with their teachers to see when tutoring is available, or you can view the tutoring schedule on our website at sutter.scusd.edu. This year, local comprehensive high schools will be hosting “High School Visitation Nights” and “Visitation Days.” Please visit our website at sutter.scusd.edu for the latest information. As soon as we get information from the high schools it is placed on our website and in our weekly bulletin. You can also find high school information on our PTSO website at sutterptso.com. At this time, we are scheduling visitation days for current sixth graders who are considering Sutter Middle School in the Fall via the Open Enrollment process. We have scheduled 4 visitation days in December, the 9 th -12 th and 4 visitation days in January, the 13 th -16 th . Visitation times will begin at 8:45 am. Please contact our Office Manager, Ms. Juhlin, at 264-4150 Ext. 1010 to schedule a visit. Our annual Jog-A-Thon is scheduled for November 6 th and 7 th , and your student should already be collecting donations for a chance to earn some incredible prizes. Funds raised by this event will help beautify our campus and support enrichment activities. Lastly, Sutter will be collecting non-perishable food items starting Wednesday, November 13 th through Wednesday, November 20 th for Thanksgiving food baskets that will be given to our Sutter Community. Dear Parents,

The end of the first quarter is November 1st! Report cards should arrive in the

home by November 15th. Please contact the school if you do not receive your

student’s report card. If your student needs some extra support, please

encourage them to check in with their teachers to see when

tutoring is available, or you can view the tutoring schedule on our

website at sutter.scusd.edu.

This year, local comprehensive high schools will be hosting “High School

SUTTER’S ANNUAL CANNED FOOD DRIVE

Sutter’s Annual Canned Food Drive takes place from November 13 – November 20, 2013.

Bring cans and other non-perishable items to the Sutter driveway every morning before school.

All items donated will be distributed to families of our own Sutter students during the week of

Thanksgiving.

SUTTER JOG-A-THON

Our annual Jog-A-Thon is almost here! On November 6th and November 7th, students will be running on

the track during their P.E. period. Students should begin asking for sponsors as soon as possible. Pledge

forms were passed out on October 23rd. All Jog-A-Thon pledge money should be collected and turned in to

PE teachers by November 13th in order to be considered for prizes. Top money earners and students

bringing in $200 or more will have exciting prizes to choose from. Please see attached Jog-A-Thon flyer.

RT BUS STICKERS

The November bus stickers are available in the office. The cost is $35 for the month and $17.50 for a half

month. RT requests CASH ONLY. There is a discounted price for Sutter students who qualify for

Free/Reduced Lunch. Students can purchase the bus stickers during lunch and after

school until 3 pm.

Students who need a Photo ID can go to 1225 R Street (light rail station)

Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. Photo ID cards are $3.00 cash only. The

card is valid for 3 years. Students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or must

show proof of enrollment at Sutter.

SIGN SHOP- Do you have a friend, child or sibling with a birthday or special occasion coming up? Want to

celebrate their happy day with a super creative, personalized banner? Sutter's own fabulous Sign Shop is

open for business! Just bring $5 to Mrs. Grady in the main office and fill out the Sign Shop Order form on

the front counter ONE WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT, and we will make it happen!

ATTENDANCE ISSUES

When your child is sick or

going to be absent, please call

the Attendance Office at

264-4362 anytime day or

night. When your child

returns to school, they should

report to the Attendance

Office for a re-admit slip. If

you need to have your child

dismissed early, you may send

a note with your child before

school that day or call/email

the Attendance Office at

264-4362 at least 30 minutes

before the dismissal.

PRINTER CARTRIDGES

Sutter is collecting empty inkjet

and laser cartridges for

recycling. This is an excellent

fundraising program for the

school since it has zero selling

and absolutely no cost to

anyone.

We encourage parents, students

and teachers to participate by

collecting them from home and

work. Turn them in to the

office. Thank you.

Save-Mart S.H.A.R.E.S. Cards: If you shop at Save Mart or Food Maxx, please come to

the office and pick up a S.H.A.R.E.S. Card. These cards are already activated so when

presented at the time of purchase, Sutter will receive a percentage of what is spent.

Raleys-BelAir “Something Extra”: If you shop at Raleys/BelAir, please log on

www.Raleys.com and register to receive your “Something Extra Card.” After you have

put in your information, go to “Manage Your Account” then click on “Extra Credit”. Select

“Your Organization” and type in Sutter Middle School. Select Sutter Middle at 3150 I

Street Sacramento and then go to percentages and click 100 percent. Sutter receives 5% of

your purchases. If you have any problems, please call Sutter’s Main Office at 264-4150.

Field Trip to Rosemont High School All 8th grade Sutter students who are planning to attend Rosemont High School or have an interest in

attending Rosemont in the Fall of 2014 – are invited to go on a field trip to Rosemont on, Tuesday,

November 19th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This field trip is being sponsored by Rosemont and is

intended to provide our students with the opportunity to see Rosemont in action.

Transportation will be provided.

In order to attend you’ll need to complete a Student Field Trip Authorization Form and return it to

Sutter’s Main Office or to Room 102 by Tuesday, Nov 12th. Students are responsible for the completion

of any missed assignments or tests.

Students will board the bus at 12:15 PM for the return trip to Sutter. Students that reside within the

Rosemont area have the option of being picked up by their parent. If a parent plans to pick up their student

from Rosemont, the parent must complete form RSK-F100B – SCUSD Student Voluntary Transportation

Agreement (on back of RSK F106C – SCUSD Student Field Trip Authorization) and check in with

Mr. Lessler by 12:15 PM in the front of Rosemont to sign their student out. Any students that

are not picked up at 12:15 PM will need to board the bus to Sutter and can be picked up at Sutter

after 2:20 PM.
