enthusiasm for work is truly expressed by

Japanese products, be it cars, electronic,

machinery or any other field. Japanese

automobile industry started its journey with

the launch of small cars. These small cars

featured very small engines (from 360cc to

600cc) which kept taxes very low as

compared to large cars. A huge demand for

cars in the country brought a boom in the

Japan's automobile market. Rapidly rising

domestic demand and the expansion of

Japanese car companies into foreign

markets in '70s further accelerated the

growth.

Every Japanese automaker contributed in a

way that helped the country's automobile

industry to reach the pinnacle. The country is

the home of top automakers such as Toyota,

Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and many

others. Japanese makers always try to make

a place in the heart of buyers by offering the

most comfortable and efficient vehicles.

With every model launched by Japanese

makers, they have proved that anything is

possible. Earlier, reliability and luxury did not

go hand in hand, but the introduction of

Toyota's Lexus LS 400 changed all of that. Even

now, twenty-five years later, the car still has

the global repute that it deserves. When the

world was looking for a fun-sporty vehicle,

Nissan launched Fairlady Z or Datsun 240Z (in

some markets). In bringing the hybrid

technology mainstream, Japanese makers

Toyota played a major role. It launched Toyota

Prius in '97 and since then the car has sold

millions of units across the world and has its

new variants including a compact Prius c, the

larger Prius v and Prius Plug-in.

While thinking about Japanese cars one thinks

about reliability and great quality. Japanese

makers have achieved popularity simply

because they always do well on all promises

made. Time and again with their models,

Japanese makers have proved that they are

better than other makers. The main focus of

Japanese makers is always towards

customer's satisfaction. Japanese makers

even teach their staff to work with the

customer in mind in order to develop a

quality product. The huge amount of money

is being spent by automakers to upgrade

their technology.

apanese automobile industry is one of the Jwell-known and largest industries in the

world. Japanese automakers always focus

on product enhancement, technological

innovation, and safety improvement. By

manufacturing vehicles that are reliable, safe

and tough, Japanese makers are ruling the

hearts of millions. To know about the success

of Japan automobile industry, let's learn from

where they have started their journey. The

first entirely Japanese made-car was

manufactured by Komanosuke Uchiyama in

1907. In 1904, Torao Yamaha built the first

Japanese-made bus, with the seating

capacity of 10 people. After the end of World

War I, large numbers of companies with the

support of the government and the Imperial

Army started manufacturing military trucks.

That eventually resulted in starting of

automobile companies such as Toyota,

Nissan and marked the beginning of

Japanese automobile industry. Toyota Jido

Shokki, a weaving company founded its

automobile department in the 1933 and

named it Toyota. In the same year, Nissan

was established by a growing company

named Nihon Sangyo.

During World War II, the automobile

department of Japan was mainly in the

production of military and industrial trucks

and buses. After the WW II, Japanese

companies were allowed to produce only a

limited number of trucks. Toyota during that

period lost almost all its assets and went

bankrupt. During Korean War, contracts

were given to the company for military

vehicles and repairs. This helped Toyota to

survive the crises.

During 1955, the production of cars by

Japanese makers increased. At the

same time, the restriction was

imposed on importation of vehicles

by the government in Japan. Since

the Japan's car market at that

particular time was not very vast,

thus many countries did not oppose

the restriction. Under the guidance

of the Ministry of International Trade

a n d I n d u s t r y , t h e J a p a n e s e

automobile industry started to

flourish. In 1953, the numbers of

vehicles manufactured were 10,000,

but the number reached to 20,000 in 1955. By

the end of 1950s, Japan began to export

vehicles to different countries every year, but

the number included only few hundred. In

the year 1961, for the very first time, the

number of used cars exported achieved

10,000 units. And by `70, Japan started to

export around million of vehicles across

many countries around the world. In the

beginning of the export process, Japanese

vehicles were not so popular, but eventually

due to their superb quality and low prices,

these vehicles began to make their place.

Consequently, the 1973 oil crises increased

the popularity of Japanese cars in the global

market as vehicles developed by them have

smaller engine and were fuel-efficient.

During 1970s popularity of Japanese vehicles

increased in Britain and U.S. Mitsubishi and

Honda were popular Japanese brands in the

U.S., while in Britain, Nissan became a

popular maker.

During this period, the export of the car was

at peak. By manufacturing cost-effective and

affordable vehicles, till the year 2000 Japan

became one of the largest veh ic le

manufacturing nations across the world.

Even though with the strong competition

from South Korea, China, India, and many

other countr ies , Japan car industry

continued to thrive.

After the 1990s, during Japan's long recession

period, the automobile industry continues to

maintain its international competitiveness.

This was due to Japanese automakers

production approaches and development

plans. Japanese makers are leading in every

aspect of automobiles, may it be technology,

sales or production. Around six out of ten

leading car makers in the world are Japanese

makers. Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Suzuki,

Mitsubishi are few popular Japanese car

makers. Japanese automakers started from

the very beginning to reach a place where

they are. The major automaker, Toyota Motor

Corporation started as a division of Toyota

Automatic Loom Works for commercial

weaving applications in Koromo. Later on the

company was hired by the Japanese

government for manufacturing cost-

effective cars for military purposes. For the

p a s t t h r e e d e c a d e s , T o y o t a h a s

manufactured 3 million units a year in Japan

only. However, overseas production has

grown to 5 million units annually from

200,000 units in the 1980s. Likewise, Nissan

Motor Company Ltd, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and

others are also major automobile producers

in Japan. The Japan automobile industry is

known across the world for its innovative

ideas, attractive designs, quality and use of

latest technologies.

From modest origins, today the Japanese

auto industry has grown into one of the most

respected and popular manufacturing

industries in the world. The increase in

demand for Japanese vehicles has increased

t h e c o m p e t i t i o n a m o n g v e h i c l e

manufacturers. There is no doubt that

Japanese vehicles are clearly leading in the

race to capitalize on the automobile market

of various countries.

methods used for manufacturing of vehicles,

supplier industries for steel and other parts

also plays a very vital role in developing of

components that are used for manufacturing

motor vehicles.

The Japanese automobile industry is one of

the most prominent and largest industries in

the world. Since 1960s, after surpassing

Germany, Japan has been among top three

automakers in the world. The country is home

to a number of companies that manufacture

all types of vehicles, engines, ATVs (Automatic

Transmission vehicles).

A large amount of time and money are

invested in developing and improving the

manufacturing process, which in turn increase

the quality and efficiency of products

manufactured. Over the past many years,

considerable technological advancement has

taken place, which has changed and

reinvented the manufacturing process of

motor vehicles. The strong competition in the

automobile market has forced automakers to

come with a new design every four to five

years. This has in turn decreased the product

life-cycle of automobiles. To increase the

performance capability of the vehicle and to

create innovative designs, new technologies

are used by automakers. These developments

have led to unique and innovative designs for

future automobiles. In order to control the

dependency on fuels and designing vehicles

that are more efficient, Japanese automakers

have built electric hybrids and fuel-cell

vehicles. With the increase in the production

and usage of environmentally friendly

vehicles, more automakers are getting

engaged in this production line.

Various technologies are incorporated by

manufacturers to keep drivers and other

passengers safe and offer them comfortable

and enjoyable driving. Once available on top-

of-the-line luxury vehicles only, many of the

features are now available on family cars also.

Some of the latest technologies included by

Japanese makers in their vehicles are as

discussed in the next segment.

Electric Powered VehiclesAn electric car is an automobile that uses

electrical energy stored in batteries instead of

petroleum or gasoline. Electric motors

present in electric cars give instant torque,

creating strong and smooth acceleration.

During oil crises, people diverted towards

electric cars to use as an alternate of fuels. Even

nowadays, these vehicles are popular due to

ever increasing oil prices and environment

pollution. Top automakers such as Toyota,

Honda, and Nissan are already in this sector

with their automobiles.

Many automakers across the world are

f one is in the market to buy a used vehicle,

Ithe obvious place to consider is Japanese

used car market. There is no doubt that

Japanese are more devoted towards their

work, hence the end result are always a vehicle

that one feels proud to drive. Japanese

automobiles are among the top makers due to

the reliability and quality of products offered.

And as a result, large numbers of used cars

and vehicles are exported to many countries

across the world.

It is not easy to keep a car in Japan, due to strict

guidelines for the road and safety of people. In

Japan necessary inspection “Shaken” is to be

done, when a car turns 3 years old, then every

2 years until the car turns 11, afterward every

year. The cost of maintenance is also very high.

Hence, it becomes difficult for people to keep

vehicles and they are generally sold out.

People who are mainly benefited from this

strict and rigorous inspection are mainly

mechanics and used vehicle exporters. Many

of the used cars find their way to other nations,

where they are sold at very reasonable rates. In

some countries sales of new cars are being cut

heavily by used Japanese cars.

The used car market of Japan has been bigger

and is growing at a much faster pace along with

the new car market. According to the statistics,

in the year 2003, used vehicles exported from

Japan were 714,808, whereas in 2013, as many

as 1,163,109 Japanese used vehicles were

exported. So, there is a massive increment of

448,301 units over a period of 10 years. It is

expected that the used car market will grow

almost double the size of the new car market in

the next 5 years.

One of the major importers of Japanese used

vehicles is Africa. Almost every country in this

Many African countries are underdeveloped,

and do not possess much scope for new

market. Hence, there are ample opportunities

for Japanese used car exporters in these

countries. Not only African countries, other

countries in Europe, Asia, America, Middle East

also import Japanese used vehicles. Even, the

economy of many countries depends hugely

on importation of used vehicles.

Japanese vehicles are engineered properly

and are safe to drive, that's why Japanese cars

operate well, even in case the driver forgets

the scheduled maintenance. Japanese

vehicles have more life, tighter tolerance in

comparison with other maker vehicles. These

are the reasons, why people from many

countries import Japanese used vehicles. For

instance, if one views, statistical data for

Tanzania, one can see that large numbers of

second hand cars imported from Japan long

ago in the country are still on the roads. Some

other reasons that contributed towards the

popularity of Japanese used vehicles-

Low Cost :Availabi l i ty of Japanese Used cars at

affordable prices makes them everyone's car.

With more than one car, come many

restrictions, as owning a car in Japan is not an

easy task, thus making many users to sell their

cars at cheaper rates.

The Japanese used car auct ion a lso

contributes to save buyer 's money, as

auctions offer cars at lower selling prices than

Excellent car condition :The Ministry of Transport in Japan constantly

carries out a road-worthiness inspection

called “Shaken” to check whether or not all

vehicles on the road are properly maintained

and safe to drive. The check is given on a new

car after three years and successive check

after every two years. Another reason that

adds up to the good condition of vehicles in

Japan is exceptionally smooth roads.

Easy availability of parts :It is not a difficult thing to find spare parts of

Future Technologyof Japan Auto Industry

he automobi le industry i s an

Timportant p i l lar of the g lobal

economy. For the overall development

of the country, automobile sector plays a

very vital role. The automobile industry of

the world is constantly working to bring out

new technologies, either they are for safety,

fun, or just for pure innovation. Generally

vehicles manufactured are for safety

purpose, but some are just for convenience

to drivers.

Those technologies which once seemed

impossible to implement are now feasible.

The automobile industry is growing, not only

in Japan, but across the whole world. Many

technologies are being used by different

automakers to overshadow the other. The

c h a n g i n g c u s t o m e r ' s h a b i t s a n d

expectations are causing manufacturers to

make models incorporated with new

technologies.

As the trends in the automotive industry

continue, there are ample opportunities for

both old and new car market. It is known that

necessary requirements such as scheduled

vehicle maintenance, necessary repairs, and

body services will always going to be in need,

no matter people prefer new vehicle or go

with their old ones.

Japanese automobile industry is an ever

growing industry. In the past also, it had

many broken records in the production and

sales. Japanese automakers have outpaced

their competitors in year-over-year growth.

The movement to preserve the

environment has already hit the

Japanese automobile industry.

Many renowned automakers

such as Toyota, Nissan,

Honda etc . had already

designed environmentally

friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles. And other

makers are also investing in this sector. It has

been assumed that by next few years, almost

every automobile manufacturer must be

producing at least one environmentally

friendly vehicle to compete in the automobile

market. This sector holds huge potential and

is even considered to be the future of the

automobile industry.

Automobile industries and makers are

making ways to make driving a pleasurable

exper ience . Wi th new technolog ies

incorporated in vehicles, it seems that

vehicles are becoming smarter, lighter, safer

and more fun to drive. It is quite difficult to

determine the

exact

technologies that will be included by makers

in the vehicle, but there are chances that in the

near future, cars might be self-driving, or may

have augmented reality dashboards. Many

automakers are planning to develop

driverless cars leaving a little room for human

involvement. It seems that in next few years,

there will not only be fully-self driving cars, but

with technology cars can park themselves,

monitor the alertness of drivers and even

communicate with each others. To offer

safety to pedestrians, and to protect the car

during a collision, automakers are planning

on developing side or external airbags. Car

companies are also developing technology to

monitor flesh and blood of drivers, in order to

help them to avoid accidents.

Japanese automobile industry with its

innovation and technology is contributing

towards the global development of the

automobile sector. Innovative features are

incorporated by makers to offer customers

with higher-end cars. With better explanation,

the country's automobile sector surely holds a

better future.

Japan is a highly motorized society. As such, each

year thousands of new models are introduced by

v a r i o u s

automakers.

The country is a

home of various

makers , and

people make

their choices

based on their own

preferences and needs.

With the demand for new

v e h i c l e s , d e m a n d f o r

Japanese used vehicles is

also rising. The country's

second-hand auto market is

largely trusted across the

world. Even the economy of m a n y

countries depends hugely on the importation of

motor vehicles.

Large numbers of used vehicles from Japan are

exported to almost all countries around the globe.

Africa, the second-largest continent in the world is a

major importer of Japanese used vehicles. Used

vehicles from Japan are imported by nearly all African

countries. The availability of large numbers of used

vehicles on the streets of African countries, constitute

towards of the popularity of Japanese vehicles in

these countries.

Not only used vehicles, even machinery and parts are

imported by Africa. Likewise, many Asian countries

import used vehicles from Japan. Myanmar is among

largest importer of used vehicles from Japan. The

automobile markets of these countries poses many

opportunities for Japanese exporters as people have

a strong inclination towards Japanese used vehicles.

The market of Japanese used cars in other countries

such as Australia, New Zealand is also increasing. This

year only, New Zealand, imported around 80,700

used vehicles from Japan. It has been expected that

the used car market this year will expand almost

double in comparison to last year. There are other

countries also where the Japanese used car market is

escalating.

There are many nations that are under-developed

thus, don't have much to do with new cars as many

people cannot afford

to purchase a

new car. Plus in

some countries

there is a huge

a m o u n t o f

taxation from the

g ov e r n m e n t f o r

registering a new

economy of many

d e v e l o p i n g

c o u n t r i e s i s

growing. With the increased in the spending

by the middle class, there has been a significant

increment in the purchase of vehicles. The

importation of used vehicles from Japan in any

country is not a difficult job. With so many used vehicle

portals it has become quite easy to import a Japanese

used vehicle. There are many exporters who even

assist buyers or importers while purchasing a used

vehicle. Japan has acquired the top most spot as the

m o s t c o n s i s t e n t a n d r e a s o n a b l e v e h i c l e

manufacturing market. While offering used vehicles,

Japanese market gives the best combination in price,

economy, quality standard and flexibility. The used car

market of the country holds a very vast future. The

main reason that constitute towards the popularity of

Japanese vehicles is because they are reliable, high on

quality and safe to drive. Many developing and even

developed countries are importing Japanese used

vehicles.

The Japanese used car market is very big and it keeps

on increasing. Every year, millions of used vehicles are

being exported to almost all countries across the

world. The limited size of the new car market and

limited growth potential in many countries gives fair

opportunities to Japanese used car dealers to make a

fortune. Japan is doing wonders in its used vehicle

market and there are assumptions that by coming

years the market will expand at a much faster pace.

Duty reductions on Mazda vehicles already in market

escription: Mazda has announced price

Dreductions on all entitled vehicles from 1st January, 2015. The import duty reduction,

flowing from the Japan Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was earlier planned to be implemented on January 15, 2015. The reductions in import duty are the outcome of the finalization of the Japan Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA).

To make sure, all its customers benefit from the reduction, Mazda has introduced duty reduced prices effective January 1, 2015. Passionate car lovers now can enjoy Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-5 and CX-9 vehicles at lower prices. There was already duty free pricing on the Mazda2 and BT-50, which are built in Thailand due to the Thailand – Australia Free Trade agreement.

Savings on petrol model vehicles vary from $403 to $963, at the same time as a reduction on diesel models range from $268 to $347 - depending on model. (Reductions on diesel engine vehicle duty will be phased in over the next 2 -3 years.) The FTA savings, along with factory bonuses on all run out and 2014 plate exit models of Mazda3, Mazda6, Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-9 mean great value for all Mazda customers.

Honda introduced its FCV Concept car

Honda's FCV Concept car debuted in North A m e r i c a a t t h e 2 0 1 5 N o r t h A m e r i c a n International Auto Show. The company also said

to launch several next-generation, advanced Powertrain vehicles, including a new battery-electric model and plug-in hybrid model by 2018 in order to remain a strong competitor in producing environmental vehicles and increase sales. Additionally, the company plans further application of its two- and three-motor hybrid systems in the years to come. Honda is also planning to introduce new VTEC® Turbo engines to be built in Ohio by the end of 2015.

Honda FCV Concept :

The Honda FCV Concept showcases the styling evolution of Honda's next fuel-cell vehicle, anticipated to launch in the U.S. following its March 2016 introduction in Japan. The new Honda fuel-cell car will feature a spacious cabin with seating for five-passengers, a driving range estimated to be in excess of 300 miles, and

an anticipated refueling time of approximately 3 minutes at a pressure of 70 MPa. Its fuel cell stack, which fits entirely within under the hood, is 33 percent smaller with a 60 percent increase in power density compared to the outgoing Honda FCX Clarity. As far as styling is concerned, the Honda FCV Concept features a low, wide aerodynamic body with clean character lines.
