I love Stephen Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. If you have not read this, I highly recommend you add it to your reading list!

recently, we have been going through a dramatic paradigm shift in the real estate market. Covey spends a lot of time talking about paradigm shifts. His point is – when you think you know what is going on and what the truths are, watch out. Well, we thought we knew the real estate business. Then the bottom fell out of the condo market, the credit markets and the affordable housing market. It was time for a shift in the way we looked at our business. as a result, we are a leaner company, providing better services and selectively developing in solid markets.

To provide better services, I am pleased to report that we now offer condominium management services through Jdr real estate Management. We now manage four communities with 692 units. This will ensure the communities we develop are properly managed and turned over to the residents’ association in the best possible condition.

Jdr realty has also become one of the best sales and marketing organizations in the region. We are outperforming the market and finished the first quarter of 2008 with 30 sales, up from an average of 15 sales per quarter in 2007. This would not have been possible without a paradigm shift in the way we sell our product. The entire sales and marketing team deserves recognition for a job well done.

The affordable rental market in Florida is facing challenges due to severe overbuilding. as a result, we have changed our focus and instead of working to build, we are working to educate decision makers on the dangers of an overbuilt affordable market. We are also working closely with our management partners, WrH realty services, inc., our Florida managers, and alpha-Barnes real estate services, inc., our Texas partners, to ensure we manage these properties as efficiently as possible.

We hope you enjoy the new look of our revue. With our incorporation of green business practices, it is fitting our newsletter too should be truly green!

Gator Kid’s Club a successful after school program at logan Heights

“Gator Kids Club” is the after school children’s program offered at logan Heights apartments in sanford, Florida. This program is available for our residents’ children ranging in age from 5 - 12 years old.

Each day children come to “Gators Kids Club” to complete their homework, enjoy a healthy snack, play games and participate in arts and crafts. Twice per week teachers from Seminole County Public Schools donate their time to tutor the children in reading. These dedicated teachers include Ms. Brown, Ms. Carmen, Ms. Pam, Ms. Bentley and Ms. Taylor. darlene roubidoux is the on-site program coordinator.

“This program has proven to be successful and we truly enjoy having the young spirits and laughter of the children around the office,” said the logan Heights property manager, cheryl Yates-Weiner.
