Keep it clean and keep it real - nothing too bright, and natural colors only (nothing purple, pink, blue, green). Pull long hair back in a ponytail or tuck into hat. Beards and mustaches are cool, but a hairy face isn’t. Keep facial hair short and well kept with clean neck and cheek lines. Beard or shaved clean, there’s no in-between. JEWELRY. the golden rule One ring per hand, one watch, and one support bracelet are all cool. And it is OK to wear a plain metal link necklace (silver or gold) under your clothes. Piercings. hole-y cow! Small or medium sized earrings are great, as long as there are no more than two per ear. Ear gauges are allowed, but they must not be larger than 10mm. And one small nose stud or ring is fine. But no other visible piercings please, including septums, dermals, or tongue rings. FINGERNAILS. nailed it Nails should be clean, and no longer than 1/4”. Polish and artifical nails are OK as long as you wear gloves. HATS. Get Ahead Your choice of an approved Jimmy John’s hat or visor, worn with the bill facing forward and fitting securely on your head. Flat bills are optional! SHIRTS. Rockstar Approved We’re known for our signature black Jimmy John’s tees, so choose your fave and rock it. Management may wear a Jimmy John’s polo style shirt. A plain black compression shirt may be worn underneath. Bikers can wear a Jimmy John’s bike jersey. Tattoos. You asked for it! Wanna rock tats at work? Now you can, as long as they don’t hide the real you. We want the focus to be on the art of sandwich making, not your body art. A little ink is OK, as long as it’s tasteful and not on the face or throat. No sex, drugs, or profanity please. If your mom wouldn’t approve, better cover ‘em up. SHOES. SOLE MATES Closed toe, closed heel, rubber-soled shoes. Athletic shoes are great, preferably black, white, grey and red. (Don’t let your shoe color scream louder than you.) Black or dark brown leather dress shoes are A-OK too. APRONS. Keep it clean All managers, in-shop and delivery drivers (when working in-shop) must wear a white, cloth apron. BELT. It’s a cinch! A brown or black plain leather belt is recommended for in-shop employees and drivers, and a must for managers. SOCKS. Sock it to mE Black or white socks must cover the ankle, and when wearing shorts, may not exceed the knee. Don’t see something you want to wear addressed above? Probably not allowed. This includes things like cargo pants, saggy/baggy pants, leggings, jeggings, yoga pants, and sweatpants. For complete dress code details, speak with your manager or ask your employer to point you to a copy of the Jimmy John’s Personal Grooming and Uniform Dress Code.
