Kaleidoscope-- Cutting:

Blocks:Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of all the print squares. Pair each print square with a black square, right sides together. Stitch a 1/4” from each side of the drawn line. Press to set the seams.

Cut along the drawn line. Press seams towards the black fabric. Trim squares to 3 1/2” x 3 1/2”.

Cut 11 strips at 4” x WOF (width of fabric). Cut 102 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 4 strips at 4” x WOFQ (width of fat quarter). Cut 20 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 2 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 6 squares at 4” x 4”

Cut 2 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 7 squares at 4” x 4”

Cut 3 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 10 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 1 strip at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 4 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 3 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 9 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 2 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 5 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 2 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 5 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 3 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 9 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 2 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 5 squares at 4” x 4”

Cut 4 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 14 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 2 strips at 4” x WOFQ. Cut 8 squares at 4” x 4”.

Cut 5 strips at 2 1/2” x WOF. Set aside for binding.

Each black and print pair will make 2 half square triangle blocks.Make 204 blocks.You will use 196 blocks.

Quilt Assembly:Arrange blocks according to diagram, or as desired, into 14 rows with 14 blocks per row.

Stitch blocks together into rows using a 1/4” seam. Press seams open.

Stitch rows together using a 1/4” seam. Press seams open.

Quilt should measure about 42” x 42”.

Finishing:Prepare binding as desired using the reserved 5 fabric strips.

Cut backing fabric into 2 pieces at 49” x WOF (width of fabric). Trim selvages from fabric. Stitch backing pieces together along the longer edges using a 1/4” seam. Press seam to one side. Back should measure 49” x 86”.

Layer backing, batting, and quilt top. Baste layers together. Quilt and finish as desired.
