Keeping Members Engaged and Informed

Executive Director

Michael Frodella

Dear Members, I am pleased to report that Park Avenue Club is working closely with Rutgers

University and has been selected to be a case study for the Rutgers Masters pro-

gram.

What that means for the club, is that Rutgers will be studying our membership in

greater detail to assess how the club may better serve you.

What this means for you, is that you will have a voice by way of your participation in

a survey which will assess the various ways in which each of you utilizes your club

membership.

The survey will be arriving via email and we hope that you will be able to participate

as each voice counts. This is an exciting time for the club as well as our membership

as we expect some wonderful outcomes.

Thank you to all on behalf of the Park Avenue Club team and the Park Avenue

Foundation.

Introducing...

NEW CLUB ADDITIONS

What great success we all had at our inaugural cocktail party! This is a special PAC society reserved for our young executive socialite members. This is a place where the fabulous “under 40” crowd gets to come out and play. Every month PAC will be featuring a different Y.E.S.S event from Cocktail Parties to Wine & Tapas Mixers.

Some Y.E.S.S events will be open to your amazing friends while others are reserved exclusively for you.

Join us on April 30th at 6:30 pm for an amazing PAC dinner party. We will enjoy a fabulous 3 course menu inclusive of wine, beer and cocktails as we sit around a fabulously grand table set for the very best.

**This is a closed Y.E.S.S event and is open to club members only.

For those of you that have an interest in meeting new people with a true opportunity to socialize with one another in a pri-vate and small setting then this dinner social is all about you.

The Silo Room Dinner Socials will take place once a month on a Friday and will be held well...in our cozy and intimate Silo room.

This is a first come first serve opportunity and each dinner will hold a maximum of 10 members. The regular A La Carte din-ner menu will be available for you and your fellow members are certain to impress and entertain.

**This is a closed PAC event and is open to club members only.

Introducing PAC’s very own Hot Topics! How many times have you watched your favorite TV show, seen a great movie, watched some cutting edge current news events or were shocked about something your favorite enter-tainment star did and just wanted to talk to someone about it?

Well this Hot Topics Social Club is all about that, talking and socializing about the things that excite us most. Each month we will feature a couple of kick-off Hot Top-ics but then it is game on from there.

This is a great way to get out, meet new people and have a blast while doing so. This is a purely social club so why stay in when you can come on out…

QUINOA SALAD, SNAP PEAS, PICKLED

of the Month

Recipe MONTHLY RECIPES

SERVES 6 SERVES 1

MUSHROOMS & PORCINI DRESSING

Quinoa Ingredients 1 cup quinoa , 1 1/2 cups cold water, 1/2 tsp salt , 1tbsp Olive Oil

The quinoa can be made ahead of time and refrigerated if you like. Soak the quinoa for 15 minutes in cold water. Rinse thoroughly, & drain through a large fine mesh strainer. Replace in 2 qt pot with the water, salt & oil. Bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to very low, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to sit covered for 5 min. Fluff gently with a fork and set aside to cool.

Salad Ingredients ½ lb fresh snap peas, blanched and chilled 2 lb button mushrooms, washed and sliced 2 bunch chives, sliced ¼ lb dried porcinis, ground in coffee grinder until powder 1 cup mayonnaise 2 tbsp, fresh lemon juice

1)To pickle mushrooms, heat 2 parts water, 1 part vinegar (I like to use rice wine vinegar) and ½ part granulated sugar until sugar dis-solves. Let cool. Sauté button mushrooms in very hot pan with a little bit of oil. Be sure not to overcrowd the pan as you want them to caramelize and crisp up a little. Remove from heat and put mush-rooms in a mixing bowl and pour over pickling liquid. Let sit for 2 hours or overnight. 2)For your porcini mayo, buy some dried porci-nis from your local store. Mix powder with mayo, a squeeze of lem-on, chives, salt and pepper. 3)To finish quinoa salad, combine qui-noa, mushrooms and blanched snow peas. Mix mayonnaise. Let flavors combine 2 hours before serving.
