Day 6)

Private Table Mountain, City and Constantia Valley full day tour

Includes: English speaking driver/guide, entrance fees to the Castle & two museums, Table

Mountain tickets and lunch at Kombuis Kitchen

You are collected for your private tour at approx 9am. We depart for a comprehensive city orientation tour starting with a trip up Table Mountain by cable car for a panoramic view of the whole of the Cape Peninsula.

There is time for a short walk at the summit to admire the incredible scenery. Note that the cable car ascent is weather dependent, but has been included.

Afterwards you travel into the city where you first see the Castle of Good Hope, the original fort of Cape Town built in 1652 and now painstakingly restored.

From there you continue to the historic centre of Cape Town with its many 18th century buildings where there is time to visit two of Cape Town’s museums and you may like to enjoy a stroll through the Company Gardens past the Parliament buildings.

Finally you explore the picturesque Malay quarter, a historic sector of the city with original Malay buildings and narrow streets before ending the tour back at the hotel approx 4 hours later.

We depart from the city and head for the Constantia Winelands to discover the oldest, most enduring vineyard region in the Cape. The name refers to the valley stretching from Wynberg Hill to Silvermine Mountain, Tokai.

You drive to Groot Constantia, fit with the finest Cape Dutch architecture. Guests have the option of doing a cellar tour in addition to a wine tasting from the selection on offer. From here we move on to Klein Constantia for wine-tasting where the philosophy is founded on quality rather than quantity, reflected in the wines.

Your tour leads you to Steenberg, ‘Mountain of Stone’ which has a romantic ring, but the original name was even more beautiful: it was called ‘Swaaneweide’ – The Feeding Place of Swans. The estate boasts a 5-star hotel and numerous dining experiences.

Page 15: Kruger Safari-Cape Town - PTS TRAVEL · Kruger Safari-Cape Town For bookings and more information contact Michelle at 800-444-1569 ext. 126 or Michelle@ptsnow.co Singita Boulders

Please note: Tours are subject to change in directions and number of estates visited due to time constraints.

Day 7)

Private Peninsula scenic full day tour

Includes:

Excludes:

English-speaking Satour guide, entrances, air-conditioned vehicle, standard lunch

Funicular train tickets

Our full day private Cape Peninsula tour includes a scenic coastal drive along Chapmans Peak; the Cape of Good Hope National Park and Cape Point; viewing the Penguins at Boulders Bay; Simonstown historical naval base and ends with the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

We collect you in the early morning and then travel along the spectacular Atlantic Seaboard through the chic suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay, and on to the scenic fishing village of Hout Bay. (An optional extra would be to take short 30 minute boat cruise to view the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island.)

Next you enjoy a scenic drive along the famous Chapmans Peak drive – if open – as it hugs the cliffside with a 200m drop on one side and a 200m rise on the other.

You continue south to reach the Cape of Good Hope National Park. Explore the rocky coastline and unique Cape Fynbos vegetation which is home to unique birdlife such as African black oystercatchers and Cape sugarbirds amongst others.

You may be lucky to see wildlife such as the Cape mountain zebra, bontebok, ostrich and baboon. Climb up to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical views over the bay. Alternatively you can take the funicular train as an optional extra.

After lunch you visit the unique penguin colonies at Boulders beach for an exciting close encounter with African Penguins – often a highlight of the tour.

Drive through the historical naval village of Simonstown and over yet another spectacular mountain pass, Boyes Drive, and on to Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens – some of the finest gardens in Africa nestling on the lower slopes of Table Mountain.

We walk through the gardens where 4,000 of the 22,000 Southern African flowering plants are cultivated in a setting of mountain streams, pools and rolling lawns.

You are dropped off at your hotel having seen the best the Cape has to offer.

Optional excursions include a boat cruise to Duiker Island, a visit to the World of Birds in Hout Bay, a ride on a camel at Imhoffs farm, horse-riding on Noordhoek beach or a visit to the ostrich farm close to the Cape of Good Hope.

Page 16: Kruger Safari-Cape Town - PTS TRAVEL · Kruger Safari-Cape Town For bookings and more information contact Michelle at 800-444-1569 ext. 126 or Michelle@ptsnow.co Singita Boulders

However if you add too much, you have not have time to see everything or you may have to rush too much. If you wish to do some of these excursions, we suggest that you leave Kirstenbosch Gardens for another day.

All entrances for the optional excursions are for your own account.

Day 8)

Private Winelands Countryside full day tour

Includes: English-speaking Satour-registered guide, air-conditioned minibus, tastings &

entrances

Today you enjoy a private tour to the Cape Winelands for a leisurely exploration of the historic towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek as well as wine tasting at local wine estates. The majestic scenery of the winelands is unparalleled so even if you don’t drink wine, the countryside and history make it well worth the visit.

A combination of the favourable effects of the two major ocean currents meeting off the Cape makes the climate in the area perfect for the acres of vineyards. The stunning backdrop of the mountains, the tree-lined streets and the white gabled Cape Dutch homesteads all blend in tranquil harmony.

The exact wine estates to be visited will vary for each private tour as everyone has their own preference in wine. Your guide will discuss all the options with you and select the best wine estates to visit. The tastings will include high quality (and often award winning) red and white wines.

Depending on which estates you are visiting, the order of the tour will vary so the description below should be seen as a guide only. You are collected at approx 9am and head to one of the wine estates. Here is the perfect opportunity to experience the rich historical and architectural traditions of the region.

After a tour through their cellars, there’s a chance to sample some of their local wines as well as perhaps a cheese tasting.

Page 17: Kruger Safari-Cape Town - PTS TRAVEL · Kruger Safari-Cape Town For bookings and more information contact Michelle at 800-444-1569 ext. 126 or Michelle@ptsnow.co Singita Boulders

Next you lead to the picturesque village of Franschhoek which is set in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountain. Enjoy some of its many interesting shops and boutiques and visit a second wine estate for some more wine tasting.

Lunch will be at one of the spectacular award-winning winelands restaurants. After lunch, you head to Stellenbosch. It is easy to see why Simon Van Der Stel decided to build a village in such an idyllic spot.

The Cape Dutch architecture along the oak-lined streets and the many alfresco cafes give Stellenbosch a charm that will not be quickly forgotten. We return to Cape Town in the late afternoon. This tour does not take place on Sunday.

As this is a private tour, you have the freedom to adapt this tour by choosing specific wine estates to visit or by adding optional excursions such as horse-riding or walking through the vineyards, visiting the Franschhoek Motor Museum or Butterfly World.

In Stellenbosch you can visit the Village museum – a collection of preserved houses which gives an insight into the lives of the early settlers in Stellenbosch through to the Victorian era – or nearby Spier Wine estate with its Eagle Encounters tour and arts & crafts market.

Alternatively you can enjoy the Cheetah Encounters programme near Somerset West. Remember that if you add too much, you may have to rush too much or miss out on a second wine estate.

All additional entrances or excursions are for your own account.

Day 9)

Cape Town City to Cape Town Airport private road transfer

Today you are collected by your guide for a private transfer to Cape Town Airport. This transfer will take approx 30 minutes depending on traffic.

END OF SERVICES
