Mackie Messer (Bert Brecht)
Ach, es sind des Haifischs Flossen
Rot, wenn dieser Blut vergießt
Mackie Messer trägt 'nen Handschuh
Drauf man keine Untat sieht
An 'nem schönen blauen Sonntag
Jenny Towler ward gefunden

Prost!

G D G D
Don't think twice, it's alright.
And it ain't no use in turning on your light babe
the light I never knowed
and it ain't no use in turning on your light babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
Well I wish there was something you would do or say
to try and make me change my mind and stay
we never did too much talking anyway
But don't think twice, it's all right
So it ain't no use in calling out my name, gal
like you never done before
and it ain't no use in calling out my name, gal
I can't hear you any more
I'm a thinkin' and a wonderin', walkin' down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I am told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
Don't think twice, it's all right
So long honey babe
where I'm bound, I can't tell
goodbye is too good a word babe
so I'll just say fare the well
I ain't a sayin' you treated me unkind
you coulda done better but, I don't mind
you just kinda wasted my precious time
Don't think twice, it's all right

GHOST RIDERS IN THE SKY.

An old cowboy went ridin' out one dark and windy day,

at bolder ridge he rested as he went along his way

when all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw

Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel

their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel

a bolt of fear cut through him as they thundered through the sky

For he saw the riders coming hard... and he heard their mournful cry

Yipie i oh Yipie i ay

Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash
E
I hear the train a comin'
It's rollin' 'round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine
E7
Since, I don't know when
A
I'm stuck in Folsom Prison
E
And time keeps draggin' on
B
But that train keeps a-rollin'
A( Strum once only) E
On down to San Antone
When I was just a baby
My Mama told me, "Son
Always be a good boy
Don't ever play with guns"
But I shot a man in Reno
Just to watch him die
When I hear that whistle blowin'
I hang my head and cry
I bet there's rich folks eatin'
In a fancy dining car
They're probably drinkin' coffee
And smokin' big cigars
But I know I had it comin'
I know I can't be free
But those people keep a-movin'
And that's what tortures me
Well, if they freed me from this prison
If that railroad train was mine
I bet I'd move it on a little
Farther down the line
Far from Folsom Prison
That's where I want to stay
And I'd let that lonesome whistle
Blow my blues away

Streets of Laredo
C F C G
As I walked out on the streets of Laredo
C F C G
As I walked out on Laredo one day,
C F C G
I spied a young cowboy, all wrapped in white linen
C F C G C
Wrapped up in white linen and cold as the clay
I can see by your outfit, that you are a cowboy
These words he did say as I bodly walked by
Come and sit down beside me and hear my sad story
I'm shot in the breast, and I know I must die
It was once in the saddle I used to go dashing
Once in the saddle I used to go gay
First to the card-house, and then down to Roses
But I got shot in the breast, and I'm dying today
Get six jolly cowboys to carry my coffin
Six dead maidens to bear up my pall
Throw bunches of roses all over my coffin
Roses to deaden the clods as they fall
Then beat the drum slowly and play the fife lowly
Play the dead march as you carry me along
Take me to the green valley, lay the sod o'er me
I'm a young cowboy, and I know I've done wrong
Then go write a letter to my gray-haired mother
And tell her the cowboy that she loved is gone
But please not one word of the man who had killed me
Don't mention his name and his name will pass on
When thus he had spoken the hot sun was setting
The streets of Laredo grew cold as the clay
We took the young cowboy down to the green valley
And there stands his marker we made to this day
We beat the drum slowly, played the fife lowly
Played the dead march as we carried him along
Down to the green valley, laid the sod oe'r him
He was young cowboy and he said he'd done wrong.

Did you ever go clear?

Ah, the last time we saw you you looked so much older
Your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder
You'd been to the station to meet every train
And you came home without Lili Marlene
And you treated my woman to a flake of your life
And when she came back she was nobody's wife
CHORUS #2:

Well I see you there with the rose in your teeth
Am
One more thin gypsy thief
Bm G F Em7
Well I see Jane's awake she sends her regards
And what can I tell you my brother, my killer
What can I possibly say?
I guess that I miss you, I guess I forgive you
I'm glad you stood in my way
If you ever come by here, for Jane or for me
Well, your enemy is sleeping, and his woman is free
CHORUS #3:

SUZANNE- Leonard Cohen
E * + * +
Suzanne takes you down to her place by the river
F#m * + * +
You can hear the boats go by, you can spend the night beside her
E * + * +
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there
G#m * + A * +
And she feeds you tea and oranges that come all the way from China
E F#m
And just when you mean to tell her that you have no love to give her
E
Then she gets you on her wavelength
F#m E
And she lets the river answer that you've always been her lover
G#m
And you want to travel with her
A
And you want to travel blind
E
And you know that she will trust you
F#m E
For you've touched her perfect body with your mind
And Jesus was a sailor when He walked upon the water
And He spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower
And when He knew for certain only drowning men could see Him
He said, "All men will be sailors then until the sea shall free them"
But He Himself was broken long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human, He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
And you want to travel with him
And you want to travel blind
And you think maybe you'll trust him
For he's touched your perfect body with his mind
Suzanne takes your hand, and she leads you to the river
She is wearing rags and feathers from Salvation Army counters
And the sun pours down like honey on our lady of the harbor
And she shows you where to look among the garbage and the flowers
There are heroes in the seaweed, there are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love and they will lean that way forever
while Suzanne holds the mirror
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that you will trust her
For she's touched your perfect body with her mind

Selbst in schweren Wirtschaftskrisen
60
Was die Sache zwar verteuert,
Rechte Hand meine Rohrzange,
So wird mir so schnell nicht bange,
Ich bin Klempner von Beruf.
Und braucht man keine Klempner mehr,
Na dann werd' ich halt Installateur!

Someone to close his eyes for you, someone to close his heart Bb C Someone who will die for you and more F
But it ain't me, Babe, Bb C F No, no, no, it ain't me, Babe,
Bb C F It ain't me you're looking for, Babe.
Go melt back in the night, Babe, everything inside is made of stone, There's nothing in here moving and anyway I'm not alone You say you're looking for someone
Who'll pick you up each time you fall, To gather flowers constantly and to come each time you call A love of your life and nothing more
But it ain't me, Babe, No, no, no, it ain't me, Babe, It ain't me you're looking for, Babe.

Blues in old motel rooms
Girls in daddy's car
You sing about the night
And you laugh about the scars
Coffee in the morning
Cocaine afternoons
You talk about the weather
And you grin about the rooms
Phone calls long distance
To tell you how you've been
You forget about the losses
You exaggerate the wins

Ladies come to see you
If your name still rings the bell
They give you damn near nothing
And they'll say they knew you well
So you tell 'em you'll remember
But they know it's just a game
And along the way their faces
All begin to look the same
Refrain
Well it isn't for the money
And it's only for a while
You stalk about the rooms
And you roll away the miles
Gamblers in the neon
Clinging to guitars
You’re right about the moon
But you're wrong about the stars
Cause when you stop…
Cocaine

You take Sally and I'll take Sue
There ain't no diff'rence between the two
Cocaine, runnin' all around my brain
Headin' down Scott
Turnin' up Main
Looking for that girl who sells cocaine
Cocaine, runnin' all around my brain
Mm, mama, come here quick
That old cocaine 'bout to make me sick
Cocaine, runnin' all around my brain
Late last night about a quarter past four
Ladanyi come knockin' down my hotel room door
Where's the cocaine? It's runnin' all around my brain
I was talking to my doctor down at the hospital
He said, "Son, it says here you're twenty-seven, but that's impossible
Cocaine, you look like you could be forty-five"
Now I'm losing touch with reality and I'm almost out of blow
It's such a fine line, I hate to see it go
Cocaine, runnin' all around my brain

The water is wide
The water is wide and I can't cross over
And neither have I wings to fly
Build me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row My love and I
There is a ship and it sails on the sea
loaded deep as deep can be
But not as deep as the love I'm in
I know not if I sink or swim
I leaned my back up against an oak
Thinkin' it was a trusty tree
But first it bent and then it broke
just like my own false love to me
Oh love is gentle and love is kind
Gay as a jewel when first it's new
But love grows old and waxes cold
And fades away like the morning dew
The water is wide and I can't cross over
And neither have I wings to fly wings
Build me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row My love and I
