TRUSTEE RESIGNS
No, we are not talking poli-
tics. We are talking about
animals. Exotic animals. Thereare enough natural predators
like bears, cougars, coyotes and
the like in our area. We don’t
need alligators and big snakes
as well. Think about this: Amaz-
ing to look at, exciting to hold,
but when they get bigger, con-
Iresigned my position as a
Trustee on the Village Board
on September 15th. My resigna-
tion came just six months after I
was elected by a majority of your
votes. A combination of factors
led up to my decision, including
the issues that have arisen in the
past 6 months; including Fire De-
partment management, new de-
velopment projects and propos-
als for change. On a personal
note, I apologize for my early de-
parture from public office. Six
months ago, you elected me to
represent your best interests andthe interests of the community. I
had hoped to serve as an agent
of change with new ideas and to
promote growth in Lannon. I re-
gret that I was not able to con-
vince my fellow Trustees that
progress was essential to the fu-
ture of Lannon. In light of recent
selected as a Design and Crafts-
manship Award Winner by Up-
holstery Journal Magazine.
Their shop is located in theheart of town at 20549 W.
Main Street. Joe Ilnicki is a mas-
ter craftsman who can turn
your ideas, plans, and projects
into reality. For exceptional ser-
vice, call Joe for an estimate at:
events that have transpired
within the structure of local vil-
lage government, I felt that the
highest standards I set for myself
would not allow me to properly
represent you on the Village
Board. I stepped down to better
serve you and the community in
a capacity that may be more ef-
fective. We will move forward.
Change is inevitable. We must
get more involved in the govern-ment process to make it happen.
When the opportunity to join
with other progressive individuals
to make this happen presents
itself, I would be honored to rep-
resent you again. We must be the
watchdogs of our local govern-
ment and hold them account-
able. We have an obligation to
ourselves, our children and to the
future of this community to sup-
port those elected officials who
will serve in our best interests. It
was a pleasure serving you and I
sincerely hope that my brief ten-
ure on the Village Board was a
step in the right direction.

sider them sold. When the kids
say, “I think we need a bigger
cage”, I think maybe you need a
bigger brain. How do you sup-
pose an alligator ended up in the
Chicago River? It didn’t migrate –
it was dumped there (or was
flushed there). Predators eat
prey. The prey can be naturally
occurring or moved into the area
in a U-Haul. Small dogs, cats and
children can be the appetizers
and when the predators get big-
ger, adults can be the main
course. Ask any taxidermist - I
don’t think that we were meantto be the stuffing. Before you
buy a big squeeze or something
with a thousand teeth, consider
the end result. These predators
belong in a Zoo or the faraway
wild. I don’t want to run into
them on the Bugline Trail. Bikes
are not designed for 14-foot
crawling or slithering speed
bumps. I don’t want all thesehungry reptiles roaming about
on my property—they might get
the idea that they can eat all my
yard gnomes. When dealing with
predators I think that it’s better
to pray than be prey.
