The Latin American Business Association (LABA) is a student organization with the mission of creating a liaison between Latin America and the Stern Community at an academic, corporate, and social level facilitating and promoting cultural and professional exchange.

• Propose new technology tools to facilitate communication among LABA members
• Support club activities using technology solutions

1st Year Officer Positions
1. Apply to up to two positions (rank them in order of preference)
2. Send e-mail to [email protected] with resume AND one paragraph stating why do you want to join LABA
3. Needs to be a 1st year officer to later run for president in the next year election

• Send an email to LABA indicating your interest
• Deadline to send email is:
Wednesday Sep 19th 08:00 PM
• Every 2nd year VP will interview candidates for their areas (9/20~9/22)
• Everyone will be communicated of the decision via phone or email

AHBBS Conference
• AHBBS will host its Annual Conference on Friday, October 19th, 2007.
• LABA will have a panel on Microfinance in Latin America & Africa
• Great networking opportunity, LABA members, especially MBA1s are strongly encouraged to go!!!!!!
• Location: The Metropolitan Club of New York (60th Street & 5th Ave.)
• Register through AHBBS web site
NSHMBA Conference
• NSHMBA will host its 18th Annual Conference and Career Expo in Houston, Texas from October 4th through October 6th, 2007.
• LABA is evaluating the possibility of supporting those members of the club that are willing to attend.
• The support would be in the form of reimbursement of expenses.
• Those members of LABA that would like to apply for this support will need to send the confirmation email from NSHMBA (showing that the applicant has registered already). The email should be send to [email protected].
• The budget is limited and the support will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Only members are eligible to apply.
