MAY - PART OF FAFFA VIRTuAL EXpLORATION OF FRENCH ART 23-24-25-26 May 2019

In conjunction with the French Animation Film Festival, Alliance Française is pleased to offer A VIrTuAl EXPlorATIoN oF FrENCh ArT.

This interactive experience is an enticing, in depth virtual reality journey within four selected classic art pieces: A bar at Folies Bergère by Edouard Manet, The Water lily by Claude Monet, Children’s Games by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, and Gauguin’s inner journey, an imagination of Paul Gauguin’s visit in Tahiti.

Through an active multi-sensorial approach, renowned animation directors or multimedia artists created an entirely new perspective that allows to alternatively discover these famous masterpieces.

A VIrTuAl EXPlorATIoN oF FrENCh ArT is presented in collaboration with the Fantasium Group, an intellectual and creative entertainment group whose mission is to bridge the gap between technology and humanity through art, education and innovation.

2018 sounded the 70th anniversary of the universal Declaration of human rights, which settles the basic civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights for all.

on this occasion, the united Nations high Commissioner for human rights joined forces with the newspaper SPIrou.

Cartoon is a universal media, making fundamental topics and civic values accessible to a wide audience.Since its creation, the newspaper SPIrou has supported the ideals of open-mindedness, defence of the oppressed, respect of difference, courage and generosity.Naturally, the united Nations high Commissioner for human rights has chosen the character of Spirou as Defender of human rights.

An itinerant exhibition devoted to SPIrou and human rights has been unveiled on 8 october 2018 at the united Nations organisation headquarters in Geneva. Through a long journey, this exhibition will stop by Alliance Française de Singapour who invites you to discover this historical partnership between these two institutions.
