We studied PH Artichoke, which radically

changes when it is switched on, but is also

a stunning object when not lit. We wanted

our fixture to have two personalities in

much the same way. When not lit, one en-

joys the materials and design details, and

when lit, one enjoys the way the reflected

light is distributed. (Foster + Partners)

Aim

The F+P 550 design is simple and light, and many re-

sources went into creating harmony between the lumi-

naire parts and thus uniting them into a single weight-

less, stunning unit. The shades functionality elegantly

expresses the philosophy that all parts of the product

should have a functional reason for being there.

F+P 550 delivers performance for meeting rooms, recep-

tion areas and libraries, but has also been selected for

private homes.

F+P 550 has a simple design essentially

consisting of four parts: a mouth blown

matt white opal glass shade, an aluminium

reflector white powder coated inside, a

metallised acryllic light conductor, and a

heatsink.
