I was lucky enough to have lived and worked in a number of countries for most of my life; outside of my home country, the United States

Most of the significant experiences in my personal and professionallife occurred abroad.

I will provide a unique perspective on how other expatriates like myself express the legacy of their home countries in a similar fashion

Sports

Not the most beautiful athlete, Babe Ruth was one of the greatest baseball players that ever lived. His gaudy individual statistics allowed his team, the Yankees, to win multiple World Series’. His teammates played their positions very competently lead by Ruth. He is larger- than life.

NBA Legend Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bullsto six NBA Championships

American sports are famous for the larger- than- life superstars that compete on highly skilled teams.

Team sports are most revered due to athletic recreation being a big part of the adolescence and upbringing of American children that come from an infinite amount of backgrounds.

The greatest teams in various sports across the world can usually count on one or a selected fee world class players making their teammates better for the good of the cause.

The result is a collective group of skilled individuals that bring something unique to the team dynamic.

Sports are a major part of daily life in the United States. Team sports provide a unique metaphor to form a significant part of the USA’s legacy.

Attitude of American Athletes

The greatest American sports teams have had one or two world- famous athletes spearheading an effort to a championship.

The process of culminating a season with a championship is not too dissimilar the dynamic required to achieve prosperity and notoriety globally- regardless of the stage or industry.

The best American teams and athletes are known to have battled adversity and approach their tasks professionally. Similar to an business setting. The process may not be smooth, but hard work, natural ability, and willingness to learn and adapt to new surroundings are hallmarks American sports.

The most advanced nations in the adopt similar never- say- die attitudes in trying to win in industry, innovation, and sports. This is the main appeal of the American sportsman that is admired and respected worldwide.

Achieving a Collective Goal

The New York Cosmos were the first American team set out to entertain and be the best team in the world. The team was the baby of Steve Ross and Warner Communications. A new soccer fan, he wanted to promote soccer in the United States by also promoting his talent in entertainment

Brazilian, Italian, British, Germany, and a row of talented young American soccer players exposed to the world stage.

The United States is not known as a global soccer power, but this group of Cosmos from different countries and life stories came together for a number of years. They battled through adversity, cultural, and personal differences to succeed in sports, and ultimately help to expand an American entertainment empire.

Legacy of the USAThe best known qualities of the United States include passion, hard- work, team- work, and the ability to get a job done despite any personal or professional constraints.

The United States has long been at the forefront of innovation and prosperity. This has resulted in an attitude that is reflective of the overall nature of the country: that the US is a body of people and groups of people- sports teams included.- that somehow “digs it out”, puts fear and personal vendettas aside, and gives their all.

The world respects fighters and American sport a fantastic representation of the type of legacy the United States has already begun to set for itself.
