Office of THE BISHOP

Diocese of Palm Beach

June 30, 2017 Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ: Founded by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in 1943, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), is the official humanitarian aid agency of the U.S. Catholic church and has assisted over 130 million people around the world. Because of your generosity, services such as combating human trafficking, educating poor children, assisting with refugees fleeing civil conflict and constructing wells for drinking water, are made possible. Every July our Diocese conducts the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) special collection which funds six Catholic agencies around the world that provide much needed support to our sisters and brothers around the world. Coupled with the CRS Rice Bowl program carried out in many parochial schools and parishes in the nation this annual collection provides vital financial resources for programs and humanitarian assistance. On July 8 and 9, your support of the CRS special collection will help fund programs that serve men, women and children of every ethnic and religious affiliation around the world. Your gift allows CRS to extend the gentle embrace of Christ to those in need of assistance. Thank you for your prayerful and financial participation in this vital outreach. With gratitude for your continued generosity and every prayerful wish, I am Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito Bishop of Palm Beach NOTE TO PASTORS: PLEASE PUBLISH THIS LETTER IN THE PARISH BULLETIN OR HAVE IT READ AT ALL MASSES ON THE WEEKEND OF JULY 1 & 2.
