The Rosary will be recited in Spanish Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Fr iday at 5pm

and 4:15 pm on Wednesday at the San Juan Mission Church in Veguita through out the

month of May. (Nuestra Senora Reina de la Paz). In English in Abeytas Monday through

Friday at 10:30 except on Tuesday which will be after Mass the Mass.

THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD ENFOQUE: Vayan y prediquen el Evangelio a todo el mundo. A través de su pasión, muerte y resurrección, Jesús ha vencido al pecado y la muerte. Cuando Jesús asciende al cielo, no nos abandona, sino que va a ese lugar que todos deseamos. Él no nos deja huérfanos, sino que envía el don del Espíritu Santo. LITURGIA DE LA PALABRA En la primera lectura, los discípulos ven a Jesús siendo llevado al cielo en una nube. En la carta de San Pablo a los Efesios, él reza para que el espíritu de sabiduría sea dado a la audiencia a la que se dirige. En el Evangelio, antes de su Ascensión, Jesús les dice a sus discípulos que vayan a predicar el Evangelio a todo el mundo.

FOCUS: Go and preach the Gospel to the whole world. Through his passion, death and resurrection Jesus has defeated sin and death. When Jesus ascends into heaven, he does not abandon us, but goes to that place for which we all long. He does not leave us orphans, but sends the gift of the Holy Spirit. LITURGY OF THE WORD In the first reading, the disciples see Jesus being taken up to heaven on a cloud. In Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he prays that the spirit of wisdom will be given to the audience he is addressing. In the Gospel, before his Ascension, Jesus tells his disciples to go out and preach the Gospel to the whole world.

Responsorial Psalm for Sunday May 13, 2018

God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord. God gave you a voice, he wants to hear it every Sunday at Mass in song and praise of his Name.
