MOVIE REVIEW: LOVE ACTUALLY
‘Love Actually’ is a sensational comedy and a brilliant romance but it does not much
drama. The author and director Richard Curtis is a unique artist. He has painted an image of
London, where people’s lives and loves collide, interweave and climax at Christmas time.
‘Love Actually’ was made in 2003 by Universal Producers. It was rated four starts by the
million in different countries in the world, nominated for two Golden Globes and won many
other awards.
In ‘Love Actually’, while some characters have to fight for their love, others have
simple, straightforward relationships and sweet-love. ‘Love Actually’ has many characters but
you may know some characters in it such as that the Prime Minister. He fell in love with
Natalie after he met her. Natalie, who is lovelorn, loves the Prime Minister but she does not
tell him and they love each other silently. Another character is a young boy named Sam. He
was sorrowful and sad after his mother had died, but in a short time his heart was soothed by
the love of a girl in his class. And there are lots of others forms of love that are complicated or
simple.
‘Love Actually’ is a fantastic comedy and romance film because of the skilful
cinematography with lots of connecting among characters, and an enchanting music score.
Whether you are a man or a woman, an emotionless person or a person full of feelings you
will feel that life is meaningful when there is love. The most interesting parts of ‘Love
Actually’ are the times when it addresses the tragic situation where love is self-sacrificing,
contradictory or frail.
In the main song of ‘Love Actually’, the lyrics are written: ‘I feel it my fingers, I feel it
in my toes.....Now if you really love me, C’mon and let it snow…..’ When hearing this song,
we will feel at Christmas cold air, but it is driven away by the warmth and the power of love.
With the magical music score, the clever cinematography, a plot thoughtful and the film is
entertaining look at relationships. I think I only want to say that I love ‘Love Actually’. So,
‘How’re about your feelings? What will you say about Love Actually?’
