Monash College the path to a top 100 university

Fatema Hasan Absulla Abbas Husain, BahrainDiploma of Engineering, Bachelor of Chemical Engineering

The global outlook of Monash College and the outstanding teaching and support staff set me up for success in the Bachelor of Engineering at Monash University. My teachers and learning consultants were professional, approachable and willing to help me reach my study goals. Because of the small class sizes I formed strong friendships with my peers, which has given me a great support network for my tertiary studies. Monash College provided me with an excellent foundation of academic skills – I recently participated in the Vice-Chancellor's Ancora Imparo leadership program – an incredible experience!

Subjects About

Accounting Accounting is the process of recording and reporting financial data that is analysed and communicated to internal and external stakeholders. This subject focuses on sole proprietor trading businesses to help you develop a foundation for the first year of your undergraduate studies before following your pathway to a career in business and finance.

Advanced Mathematics

If you are considering a university course with a high mathematical component, Advanced Mathematics will help you prepare. Extend your knowledge through the study of complex numbers, matrices and linear algebra, vectors, circular and inverse circular functions, differential calculus, differential equations, kinematics, and vector calculus.

biology In Biology, explore the structure and function of cells, and the way in which humans regulate their body temperatures and glucose levels. Discover more about genetically inherited traits, the evolution of life forms and how we protect ourselves and recover from diseases.

Chemistry Chemistry examines the structure, composition and properties of the Universe. Be introduced to physical, analytical, organic and inorganic chemistry via topics such as atomic structure, chemical analysis, and industrial processes and energy. Establish a solid foundation of knowledge while developing your experimental investigation skills.

economics Economics is the study of choices that individuals, organisations and governments make in order to allocate resources in an economy. Many undergraduate degrees require completion of economics units – this subject will provide you with a solid understanding of micro and macroeconomics before commencing your tertiary studies.

english English develops your language skills, research skills, organisational and study skills in preparation for tertiary education in Australia. Learn how to be a confident speaker, and a competent listener, develop your critical and creative analysis skills and become a proficient reader and writer of the English language.

Kai Kong Chan (Chong), Hong KongMonash English Bridging, Diploma of Business, Bachelor of Commerce

Because I completed the Monash English Bridging program in Melbourne, I was so well prepared before I started my academic studies at Monash.Classes were conducted on campus so I became familiar with university life and the Monash culture, and made new friends before I commenced. I learnt how to write an academic essay and an annotated bibliography, which was essential for assessment. My teachers even helped me learn how to take notes during a lecture! Khang Sing Law, Malaysia Monash University Foundation Year

I really enjoyed the different style of learning I experienced at Monash College – the teaching methods were very different to what I was used to. The teachers encouraged us to have group discussions in class about current topics, which taught me to study more effectively and form my own opinions. It also helped me to meet new friends all with the same dream of being successful in the future.
