Dear Readers,
I already announced some time ago
that I intended to withdraw from the
day-to-day running of the company.
In January 2006 I placed its manage-
ment in the hands of my successor,
Mr. Rainer Isenrich. He has a profes-
sional training (Dipl. Electrical Engi-
neer ETH) which excellently qualifies
him for this task. His postgraduate
studies in the USA (Master of Science
in Management Georgia Institute of
Technology) and his career to date
Dr. Peter Duss
CEO from 1978 – 2005
ting the strategic direction of the
company, in seeking new fields of
business and positioning MC in new
markets, as well in pursuing new
opportunities for strengthening the
group.
I would like to take this opportunity
to thank the whole MC team for our
excellent collaboration over the past
27 years and for the confidence that
has been placed in me by the whole
staff as well as customers, suppli-
ers, and last but not least, the
shareholders.
Yours sincerely,
Rainer Isenrich
CEO of Multi-Contact
since 2006
not a
goodbye
During my introductory period with Multi-Contact
from mid- 2005, I had occasion to visit many of
the firm’s customers. In doing so, I was pleased
to note their high degree of satisfaction with MC
products and customer services.
This satisfaction is due not only to our unique
Multilam technology and the innovative products
that result from it. Our customers also awarded
MC top marks for its legendary quality and cus-
tomer services.
Peter Duss has implanted in our company a
deep-rooted, customer-oriented quality mentality
and, by steady steps forward, made MC into a
faster
with equal
quality
customer-specific develop-
ments and for standard
products. The MC man-
agement team has there-
fore made the shortening
of these lead times one of
its top priorities.
We are convinced that
this will enable us to pro-
vide our customers with
a still better service,
without, needless to say,
making any concessions
in the quality of our pro-
ducts.
For the benefit of our
customers, our staff and
our company, in accor-
dance with the motto:
“Let’s win together”
Your
leading global supplier of contact technology for applica-
tions that demand the highest standards.
The MC team owes the deepest gratitude to Peter Duss for
this achievement. This places all of us under an obligation
to build upon the outstanding basis he has created and to
push MC onward and upward to greater heights. If we are
to succeed in this objective, it is crucial that we continue to
listen to our customers.
In my discussions with them it became clear to me that we
have a potential for improvement in our lead times both for

CombiTaclineInterview
on the CombiTac
success story
Franco Delvecchio
Sales and Marketing Manager
plug-in: Mr. Delvecchio, how did the CombiTac product line come into being?
Del: Like many of our standard products, CombiTac originated from a customer-spe-
cific inquiry. A customer from Japan wanted to combine different potentials on a
single plug connector. We quickly recognised that an MC plug system with mod-
ular structure would offer optimum, innovative solutions for many applications of
modern connection technology, and decided to make it into a standard product
line.
plug-in: How does a customer put together a plug connector? How must he go about it?
Del: Best of all with our user-friendly CombiTac Configurator, on-line via the internet
(see page 13), it is possible to see the future plug connector grow in virtual
form. Needless to say, our expert sales team is also at the customer’s disposal.
And the detailed catalogue can still be used as before.
plug-in: Were you surprised by the worldwide success of CombiTac?
Del: The success surprised me only by its speed and magnitude. We doubled sales
last year, and the potential is still far from exhausted. The product line will be
further expanded. We are naturally delighted that we have been able to create
another strong product line after the successful establishment of photovoltaic
connectors (Solarline). CombiTac combines all the advantages of MC and Stäubli
in a single plug connector and offers the best from both fields. That means that
we are flexible and cover all the most important technologies (electrical, fluid,
gas, optical fibre) that are suitable for modular combination in a single plug con-
nector. The broad range of applications in different sectors such as automation,
slide-in technology test and measurement, medical or railway technology etc.,
shows that with CombiTac we meet customers’ most exacting demands.
Just as our slogan says: one for all, all in one.

touch-protected probes and adapters
Thanks to a special plug connector developed by MC, the 0X7... oscilloscopes made by
Metrix automatically recognise which test probe or adapter is connected.
Connection example:
• Probix test probe
• Adapter for test connection to Ø 4mm sockets
• Adapter for BNC:
high-impedance
50Ω
• Adapter for connection of a
thermocouple via type K plug
HFline
The “smart oscilloscope” recognises
the test probe or adapter:
The colours of the traces on the dis-
play correspond to the markings on
the probe or on the adapters

MHz with LED for illumination
of the measuring point and key
functions for control of the os-
cilloscope.

Complex technology
easy to handle with the
online CombiTac Configurator
As a further aid to facilitate the development of CombiTac configurations in addition to the
printed catalogue, we have developed the Configurator. This tool enables you to assemble your
own plug connector step by step with a mouse click.
What the Configurator offers:
• Housing / panel assemblies
• Front and side view
• Drilling and assembly plans
• List of parts as HTML or PDF
• Registration and archiving
of the inquiries you have made
• Interactive assistance
• Avoidance of misconnections
To be found under: www.multi-contact.com > Products
I wish you success and lots of fun in the
creation of your individual CombiTacs.

Desktop Publishing
Like CombiTacline, the Configurator has a modular structure and is being constantly expanded
both from the technical viewpoint and in terms of its capabilities.
The graphic front end is based on Flash/Actionscript, data traffic is in xml format and data links
to the SQL data bases are assured by asp scripts.

Weekend of
inspiration
Snap-on Tools, an MC key customer
of many years, last year sponsored
a racing team at the National
Dragster Race in Seattle, WA.
Britt Badham, Ceebee Thompson’s
nephew, took part in the contest
with the support of Jodie, an NHRA
(National Hot Rod Association) offi-
cial, and our Hank Enkstrom.
He met Doug Herbert, Snap-on
driver, chatted with other drivers,
rode in the pace van, took photos
and collected tons of autographs.
It was an inspiring weekend for this
cancer patient. We thank Snap-on
Tools and Jodie for their generous
gift.
Snap-on Diagnostics is a
division of Snap-on Tools.
MC supplies special leads
and kits with dolphin clips
and probes for techni-
cians in the automotive
sector.

25 Years Multi-Contact
South East AsiaIt all began 25 years ago with Alfred
Binggeli (2nd from left). After these many
successful years of expansion and consoli-
dation he is now retiring from active busi-
ness and recently placed the management
of MC-SEA in the hands of Alex Tan (left).
Together with the staff of 10 and with
backup from the parent company, they will
continue to provide our customers with
expert support in the Southeast Asian re-
gion.
