Shane’s involvement with GCLT spans almost 10 years – a long-standing member of the Production Committee, he has directed productions, appeared on-stage in musicals & plays and can often be found taking production photos and creating the programmes for each show. He wrote and performed the theme music for Noella Johnson’s 2013 production of THE GLASS MENAGERIE, and has designed the sound for many GCLT productions. He appeared as Dexter Haven in HIGH SOCIETY for GCLT in 2009, and in last year’s production

of SIGNAL DRIVER. He has previously directed successful productions of STEPPING OUT and SUMMER OF THE 17th DOLL for GCLT. Favourite on-stage roles include Amos Hart in CHICAGO, Frederick in PIRATES OF PENZANCE, Cliff in CABARET and Mr Bumble in OLIVER. For his production of WAIT UNTIL DARK at Javeenbah, he also composed & played the incidental music.

DIRECTOR - Shane Caddaye

Noella has a long association with the stage going back many years – she and her husband Kevin ran their own professional theatre company in Sydney for a number of years, and when they retired to the Gold Coast they discovered / were discovered by GCLT. Noella has directed a number of successful productions for GCLT – THE GLASS MENAGERIE, THE BOYS, SIGNAL DRIVER, THE CLUB, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST and most recently WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF – and has also appeared in GCLT’s SUMMER OF THE 17th DOLL.

She and Shane often work together, supporting and assisting each other in various productions – HTSIBWRT is her first musical experience, and she has been impressed by the complexity of mounting a large-cast production!

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - Noella Johnson

Brady hails from an instrumental music background, having played the saxophone for twelve years – specialising in jazz and chamber music. After discovering the various technical sides of music in high school, she went on to study a Bachelor of Music Technology at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music – with a focus on Sound Design, Record Production, and Composition. It was during her time at the Conservatorium that Brady was introduced to the musical theatre world. Since then, Brady has been a part of many technical crews for community and professional

productions – including QTC and QPAC’s World Premiere of Ladies in Black, Wax Lyrical Production’s Queensland Premiere of Carrie: The Musical, and Oscar Theatre Co.’s third iteration of Boy&Girl. In 2015, Brady made the crossover to the creative team as Assistant Musical Director for Spotlight’s sold-out season of The Boy From Oz, before finally debuting as Musical Director and Co-Director of Bonnie and Clyde in 2016.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR - Brady Watkins

as a film actress - watch this space as exciting things are happening in the near future! This is Tiahni’s debut as a choreographer and she is over the moon to have been given this opportunity and to share this experience with close friends in the creative team and an amazing cast.

ABOUT THE PLAYHOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING was the first show Shane ever directed – back in 1988 – so 2016 will celebrate 28 years since he last directed this Tony and Pulitzer prize-winning musical. The clever and funny story of young window-washer J. Pierrepont Finch’s meteoric rise to the top in big business is punctuated by great songs such as BEEN A LONG DAY, THE COMPANY WAY and BROTHERHOOD OF MAN – the leading role has been played most recently on Broadway by Matthew Broderick 1995, and Daniel Radcliff in 2011, surprising audiences with an all-singing, all-dancing character quite different to Harry Potter! This snappy, fun musical has delighted audiences since it first hit the Broadway stage in 1961 – revived numerous times over the years it remains fresh and pithy in its knowing look at the fickle corporate ladder. In a surprisingly short time, we watch Finch climb rapidly upwards from mailroom to vice-presidency of the World Wide Wicket Company, meeting his future wife Rosemary, and foiling his boss J.B. Biggley’s nephew Bud Frump along the way. Bright, colourful costumes & set, great songs, vibrant choreography and larger-than-life characters fill the stage - audiences will leave with a smile on their faces, tapping their toes and singing the songs after spending a wonderful night at the theatre!

Canadian born and locally raised, Ethan is a professional entertainer at Dreamworld where he is able to perform every day as a pirate, singer, and a menagerie of animals amongst other things. Although Ethan has grown up performing, singing, dancing and taking part in numerous school musicals, this will be his first community theatre production. He is relishing the opportunity of playing the part of ‘J. Pierrepont Finch’, and has enjoyed brushing up on his high kicks and jazz hands (none of which, unfortunately, made

the final choreographic cut). Ethan would like to thank his family, friends and the entire cast and crew of How to Succeed for supporting him through this journey.

ETHAN LIBOIRON - J. Pierrepont Finch

Cassidy’s theatre journey started on this very stage eight years ago, when she was a part of the ensemble for High Society. Since those early days, Casssidy has gone on to work both on and off stage in productions such as Spotlight Theatre’s Legally Blond, The Wizard of Oz, and High School Musical, and Javeenbah’s Footloose. This will be her first time as a ‘leading lady’ and she is super excited to bring the role of ‘Rosemary Pilkington’ to life.
