Over the past 33 years Gabriel Pizza has become a household name in Ottawa. Gabriel’s has always been known for great quality pizza & Italian food and was recently awarded best pizza in a readers choice poll in Nepean, Kanata and Stittsville. “We are very proud of our 5 west-end stores for the great recognition they are receiving. They work hard and it’s nice to know that people love the pizza.” George Hanna, President Gabriel Pizza.
Gabriel Pizza was founded in Orleans in 1977 as a single family-run pizza shop. Gabriel’s has grown into a successful pizza franchise of 23 stores in Ottawa & Gatineau with a 24th location currently under construction in Brockville. Without the loyalty of our customers and the hard work of store owners and staff to maintain the quality and
service standards that were put in place 33 years ago Gabriel’s would not be as successful as it is today. In dozens of locations across the City of Ottawa, residents will fi nd the work of local artists displayed in free and accessible community galleries. One of these locations, the Nepean Visual Arts Centre Studio Gallery, has recently been voted a favorite by the readers of Nepean This Week! Located inside the Nepean Sportsplex, visitors will fi nd a collection of drawings, paintings, pot-tery and mixed media created by artists who are students, instructors, or who use studio space at the Nepean Visual Arts Centre. With new works being dis-played every month, the gallery provides
a unique opportunity for these artists to exhibit their work and is constantly showcasing new pieces for the public to view. Visitors can drop by on weekdays, evenings or weekends. The Commun-ity Gallery brochure allows residents to learn about similar spaces presented by the City of Ottawa, such as the Nepean Fine Arts League Gallery which provides a free exhibition of its members’ work at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre, and displays at the Shenkman Arts Centre of work from Arts Ottawa East, the Gloucester Pottery School, and the Ot-tawa School of Art.

At the Nepean Y, there’s something for everyone with a variety of drop-in group fi tness classes, specialty classes including yoga, pilates, zumba and group cycling, and our new fl eet of advanced condition-ing and strength training equipment. Moms relax knowing their children are safe and stimulated in our Y Playcare child minding space, while they participate in Y activities. Drop by for a tour and complimentary visit. Nepean Y: There’s Somthing For Everyone
Thank you Nepean! The SPA family is thrilled to receive the Diamond Award for Best Aes-theticians and Best Manicure/Pedicures. Crafted from within a 112 year old church, The Spa was established in August of 1996. The ambiance brings a sense of heritage and spiritualization and makes an ideal place re-juvenate and relax. We are best known for our Sugar Hair Removal, SPA Pedicures and Emi-nence Organic Facial Treatments – the hottest treatments in town. We focus on providing only the best professional and retail prod-ucts for our clients, and the best education and working environment for our staff. The SPA wishes to give back to our community, and takes initiative to support community ef-forts through local fundraisers, auctions and
donations. In May 2010 The SPA & The SPA Day Retreat (Kanata) raised nearly $10,000 for The CURE Foundation during our Annual Makeover Marathon. We are a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau and various spa networks. The SPA Group was also the 2010 Consumers’ Choice Award recipient for best spa/salon in Ottawa/Gatineau for the second year in a row. We’re going international! In the autumn of 1976, Chances R Res-taurant was established within the Shop-per’s City mall on the corner of Baseline Road and Woodroffe Avenue. Amongst the original partners was Brian Kilrea, Hall of Fame coach of the Ottawa 67’s. The following year, Nick Bouris, a gradu-ate of the Hotel and Restaurant faculty at Niagara College, joined the manage-ment of Chances R. Within a few years he became the restaurant’s only working partner. In 1998, both Brian and Nick be-came sole owners of Chances R and com-menced planning for a new restaurant at the soon to be built College Square. In March 2003, a newly designed Chan-
ces R opened with great excitement and enthusiasm. Since then, the restaurant has received outstanding reviews and has served over a 2 million customers. The Consumers Choice Award for Ot-tawa’s Best Family Restaurant has been awarded to Chances R for the past seven consecutive years. We are also proud to be nominated for the Service Excellence award by the Nepean Chamber of Com-merce and the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ottawa Restaurant Asso-ciation in 2009. DeFalco’s for Brewers and Winemakers has been helping people make their own quality beer and wine at home since 1962. With three of Canada’s largest outlets which includes our fl agship store in Bells Corners, DeFalco’s offers all the supplies and equipment you need to do it yourself at home or to make wine on their premises. Choose from over 350 beer and wine styles from around the world. If you decide to make your beer or wine in the comfort and convenience of your own home, our friendly, knowledgeable staff will assist you in making your choice and provide you with step by step instructions to ensure its success. Should you decide
to make wine on our premises, they’ll be with you every step of the way. You’ll have to mix the ingredients and return 4-6 weeks later to bottle. Filtered water, fi l-tering, degassing, corks and shrink caps are included in the service charge. Each batch yields 23 litres (29-30 750ml bot-tles) of wine. It takes approx. 10 minutes to start a batch and approx. 30 minutes to bottle. (Use our complimentary auto-matic sanitizers, bottle fi llers and cork-ers.)
