New Hope Celebrates pride all year long...Initially settled by the Lenape Indians, a group known for their hospitality, New Hope has long been rec-ognized for it’s unique mix of eclectic commercial and artistic establishments as well as it’s charitable, humane service organizations. Binding them all together is a veritable “stew” of different kinds of people who coexist peacefully and equally. For LGBTA individuals, New Hope is a Mecca–where discrimination and segregation are non-issues.
Blessed with scenic beauty, New Hope is nestled alongside the lowlands of the Delaware River and surrounded by lush mountains, forests and lakes. Hence, water sports abound and yet there is acreage to explore--from hillsides of horse farms and historic sights to cozy countryside dotted with covered bridges. You can see it by foot, by cycle or car, by motorcycle, trolley or train!
You will experience what folks in New Hope and Bucks County know best–that life is meant to be lived, not merely lived through.
To help you navigate what we are so proud of, this LGBTA Guide will way-point you toward discovering our many attractions and we ask that you patronize the supporters of it. New Hope Celebrates is a non-profit 501(c)3 all-volunteer marketing organization whose mission is to provide events which stimulate LGBT tourism to New Hope from throughout the Northeast region as well as provide fun community events for local Bucks County residents. Proceeds from NHC’s events are often granted to needy LGBT organizations such as the Rainbow Room, the Trevor Foundation for LGBT troubled teen intervention, and medical groups providing help to those with HIV-AIDS.
“This week of Pride is important because it keeps New Hope on the radar of LGBT tourists nationwide,” commented Daniel Brooks, Founder and President of NHC. “Always a welcoming environment, New Hope is a mainstay in the course of LGBT history and this event gives it a chance to shine—to be discovered by some, or rediscovered by others.
