white St. Louis fears the most: an all out riot, anarchy,

lawlessness, disorder. The prevailing wind within San

Francisco's several neighborhoods and communities

And this is the prevailing attitude that white St. Louis

fears the most: an all out riot, anarchy, lawlessness,

disorder. , as I start my day, I awaken to one is my

pleasure and great honor to introduce myself to you

as the new Captain of Northern Police Station. I have

been actively walking the streets and attending your

community gatherings for just over the past month. I

am excited to join you in working to ensure that the

Northern district remains the City's favorite destination

to visit, play and raise a family. The officers assigned

to Northern Police Station have been working

diligently to keep the streets safe. Currently, officers

are exhibiting great enthusiasm and determination to

discourage and arrest the thieves that have recently

preyed upon our parked vehicles. We have, and will

continue, to work diligently towards solving this

problem.

Please join me at our community's upcoming

gatherings including Japantown's Cherry Blossom

Festival, Civic Center's Earth Day and the Rock and

Roll Half Marathon. Also, check out the wonderful

improvements to our district parks located at Civic

Center, Kimball Playground and Moscone Rec Center.

Please keep me informed of your concerns and I will

do my very best to direct the appropriate resources

to keeping our neighborhoods safe.

Have a blessed and safe April - JE

Coffee With a Cop Recap

Northern Police Station Page 2

On 10/03/18 Northern Station Personnel took part in National Coffee with a Cop Day. Our patrol officers had a great time interacting with the public answering questions, addressing concerns, and handing out a few stickers to some children along the way! If you were unable to attend this week look out for future coffee with a cop days throughout the year, or join us in October 2019.

MEET THE BEAT

Meet Officer Stephen Hom. He is an 11 year veteran of the SFPD. Steve is currently the footbeat officer for the Union Street corridor within our district. He has been assigned to Northern Station since September of 2015.

Officer Hom has made an immediate impact to the area. The business owners love his enthusiasm and willingness to help. Officer Hom tells me he loves taking pictures with people from the community so please take a minute and say hello if you see him walking in the neighborhood.

On 09/25/18 at approximately 11:56 AM, Northern foot beat officers, in conjunction with the Narcotics Unit, coordinated another buy/bust operation in the area of Eddy Street between Larkin and Van Ness. The area is subject to numerous complaints and calls for service related to illicit drug sales. During the operation, two suspects were arrested for sales of rock cocaine to undercover officers.

On 09/26/18 at approximately 08:15 AM, A resident of 1 Daniel Burnham Court was outside of his residence waiting for a shuttle bus. He was violently attacked in an unprovoked attack by an unknown assailant. Officers were dispatched to the call and were able to stop and detain the suspect who was being followed by security guards in the area. After a positive identification, the suspect was arrested for felony battery. The victim was transported to CPMC by Medics and was treated for his injuries. Luckily, he was listed in stable condition with lacerations to his ear and face. The suspect, who is on probation for robbery, was booked into county jail.

Vision Zero SF is the City’s road safety policy that will build safety and livability into our streets, protecting the people who move about the City every day via surface streets.

The City and County of San Francisco put this policy in place back in 2014. The goal is to create a culture that prioritizes traffic safety and ensure that mistakes on our roadways don’t result in serious injuries or death. The result of this collaborative, citywide effort will be safer, more livable streets as we work to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2024.

Check out visionzerosf.org where you can take the pledge, get a bumper sticker, and find out more.
