BE A PART OF THIS MINISTRYWe invite you to explore the Dayspring family by attending our NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION class next Sunday, December 5 th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Room 112, with a light lunch served. Annual Church Conference - Dayspring’s Annual Church Conference will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7:00 p.m.

Advent Bookmarks and Banners - The Spiritual Formation Committee has bookmarks available in the narthex explaining “The Candles of Advent.” In addition, our Sunday School children have created Advent Banners that are displayed on the patio. As a new candle is lit each week, a new banner will be added to the display.

Koinonikos - The December issue of the Dayspring newsletter is now available for pick-up in the narthex for those who have chosen that option.

Advent Bible Study - Rev. Jane Tews will lead this class on Wednesday mornings, at 10:00 a.m. in the Adult Room, beginning Dec. 1.

Secret Santas - It’s that time of year again! Please stop by the table on the patio this morning or next Sunday, Dec. 5 and discover how you can bring Holiday Joy to a homebound person in the Dayspring family. It’s guaranteed that you will be the one to receive the greatest gift of all.

Dayspring Youth Ministry (DYM):* 10:15 - 11:30 - Sr. High in Room 111* 10:15 - 11:30 - Jr. High in Room 110* Rent-A-Youth Sign-Up: Our first SSP fundraiser will be held on

the next two Saturdays, Dec. 4 and 11. Youth planning on going to SSP next summer should work at these events. There are different “shifts” so that those youth who work can schedule their support. Please sign-up in the Jr. High or Sr. High classrooms.

The Explorer’s Class - “Faces of Faith” will be the topic of the new Explorer’s Class Advent study beginning next Sunday, Dec. 5. Video segments of innovators in theology and faith will be shown each week testifying to their faith journeys. This will be followed by class discussion. 9:00 a.m. in the Adult Room. This class is not meeting today.

The 10:30 Contemporary Issues Class will not meet today. We will continue the class next Sunday, Dec. 5.

Brown Bag Lunch - Come join us for Brown Bag Lunch every Tuesday at 12:00 noon. Bring your own lunch and socialize with people from the church. We always have a good time! Come and be part of this fun group.

Singles at Dayspring -Singles, Etc. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. If you attend first service, please join us! We gather around noon under the name “Dayspring”. Nov. 28 - Red Lobster - NE corner of Ray Rd. and 54th Street.

50+ Christmas Party will be on the second Friday, Dec. 10th, at 12:00 noon in the Shalimar Country Club Restaurant, 2032 E. Golf Ave., Tempe. Rev. George Smoot will speak about “The God of Christmas Surprises.” Make your $12 per person reservations with Erma Dean (480) 839-4657 or with a 50+ caller. Visitors, members, friends . . . all are welcome!

Family Promise - Dayspring will be hosting Family Promise today, Nov. 28 through Dec. 5. We are still in need of volunteers and sign-ups will be available on the patio after both services today. Women’s Retreat 2011 - Mark your calendars for Saturday, Jan. 29, and plan to attend this one-day retreat led by Jane Tews, Dorothy Hines, Cheryl Edmonds, and Carol Coleman at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale. The cost is $45 which includes breakfast & lunch, and the book, An Altar in the World: A Geography of Faith by Barbara Brown Taylor. UMOM Christmas Cards will be available on the patio following worship services again this year. Proceeds from these cards provide shelter at UMOM for homeless families.
