For this celebrated New York EBie (www.EBies.org) event, the finalist's projects were chosen fortheir impressive environmental performance and innovative solutions that can inspire all of us in thesustainable building community. EBie winners and their award categories will be announced LIVE atthe Hard Rock Cafe Theatre in New York City on June 19; tickets are now available for the Oscars-style awards show.

The EBies are held by the Urban Green Council (www.urbangreencouncil.org), the New YorkChapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (www.USGBC.org). Their mission is to lead in advancingthe sustainability of urban buildings through education, advocacy and research.

Recognizing that urban life leaves a smaller footprint than the suburban alternative, they envisioncities that coexist in harmony with their natural environment and contribute to the health and wellbeing of all.

The non-profit organization was established in 2001. Urban Green is funded by contributions fromfoundations, over 900 members, and over 40 corporate sponsors. Their in-house experts and adedicated network of volunteers are helping to transform the built environment in New York Citywith models that can be replicated in urban centers nationwide.

Learn more about the project and the finalist: John Lalley and Davis and Warshow. The LED tuberetrofit is one of the largest in the US for LED tube lights. The Made in America LED retrofit alsoearned the coveted Con Edison LED rebates that helped increase the ROI on the LED tube lightingthat replaced the less efficient 8' and 4' fluorescent tubes.
