In the heyday of old Savannah, aristocrats spent their time in decadently appointed estates. Their process in building and outfitting these veritable manses focused on many of the considerations we obsess over today: location, architecture, finishes, furnishings … but they certainly didn’t have our spalike bathrooms and smartphone-controlled everything at their beck and call. Inspired by these residences of downtown’s past, yet de-signed to leave its inhabitants in want of nothing, River Homes at Upper East River was fashioned to do just what the modern-day city of Savannah does: bring the old and new together for a matchless mingling of the authentic with the posh.
