Fort Bend Fine Arts Festival Writing Contest Winners
At the Fort Bend County Literary and Fine Arts Festi-
val and Parade on April 28, 4 MMJH students re-
ceived awards for their essay submissions to the
Fort Bend Writing contest. They actually swept the
6th-8th grade competition! 7th graders Hannah
Graesser and Grace Williams and 8th grader
Rachael Lee were selected as the “Judges’ Choice”
winners, and 7th grader Jenny Liu’s essay was se-
lected as “Best of Show”. These students were rec-
ognized by Commissioner Meyers and Congressman
Olsen at the ceremony, and they received several
fun prizes. In addition to a rather large trophy, Jenny
also received a $1000 scholarship! Their essays will
also be on display at the Katy Contemporary Art Mu-
seum. Congratulations to these students and their
teacher, Ms. Becky Henderson!

Student iPad Checkout
Katy ISD is excited to provide the opportunity for our students to take home a digital device for learning.
A student can check out an iPad to use for a school assignment for a one week period, excluding the
Winter and Spring Breaks. If a student needs WiFi access, a “Hot Spot” is also available for checkout for
a five day period. The student’s parent or legal guardian must first meet with the assistant principal to
review the KISD Student/Parent Equipment Use Agreement and sign it along with the student. This docu-
ment will be kept on file for the current school year. The student will be instructed on proper use and
care of the borrowed equipment. Please call the school at 281-237-8000 to set up an appointment.
Los estudiantes serán in-
