Since its establishment in 1915 by Dr. Umberto Dotta, Plastod has been passed down from father to son, in the best tradition of family business, up to the current third generation.

In the modern global market characterized by the decentralization of production to the Far East, we made the strategic decision to continue manufacturing exclusively in Italy, in the plant of about 8.000mq in Lippo di Calderara di Reno, ensuring the constant control of all phases of the production process. The careful selection of exclusively European suppliers is essential to achieve the high quality standards that have always characterized our mission to offer Quality products MADE IN ITALY.

The entire process from research and development, design, production, marketing and logistics is carried out in the Italian plant close to Bologna Marconi Airport.

Important investments are made every year in the industrial site, through the way of innovation, to implement production efficiency and logistics, supporting and strengthening the positioning of PLASTOD S.p.A. in overseas markets, which now accounts for 80% of sales.

To Private Label - which counts among Customers the international industry leaders and represents the company’s core business – We offer a complete line of dressings under our own brand to meet the needs of distributors and wholesalers.

The whole production cycle takes place - under a Certified Quality System in compliance with International Standards and in accordance with the European Directives on Medical Devices - in environments under controlled particles and microbial contamination conditions classified ISO Class 8, UNI EN ISO 14644-1.

The systematic control of the incoming materials assure a constant and high quality level assures. Each product is coded and identified, at all stages of the production process, by a batch number that guarantees complete traceability from raw materials used to the final sale.

Qualified staff certifies the conformity of the products in the Internal Laboratory equipped with instruments subject to periodical calibration as well as qualified and accredited External Laboratories for their competence according to EN ISO / IEC 17025.

The complete control of production procedures ensures the correct manufacturing and the highest safety for the end user.

Il sistematico controllo dei materiali impiegati assicura sin dall’approvvigionamento una costante ed elevata qualità.
