landscape vision for renesse 2050, in cooperation with alterra . in this project the possible use of the landscape of renesse is visualized in order to promote a ‘sustainable’ and ‘variable’ future development for the village.

> instead of only focus on the beach, ‘ renesse 2050’ challanges the inhabitants and entrepreneurs of renesse to exploit the wide range of landscapes in their proximity.
> The unkown dune stream is own of the landscapes to exploit. The reveal of the dunestream, flowing from the young dunes next to the beach upto the Moermond castle next to the polders, evokes all kinds of new activities.

search, together with remco van der togt, for the landscape architectural heritage owned or maintained by staatsbosbeheer (state Forestry). resulting in a Gis application with the designed areas owned by staatsbosbeheer as dugged up by interviews, expert meetings and archival research.

> The addition of oil rig jackets in the estuarine system narrows the gully profile and generates new habitats and new economic possibilities in the Ems mouth as well.
> The oil rig structures create a whole new habitat; attracting fish, shellfish and fishermen.
> tidal polders along the tidal river, dynamized by huge ocean steamers, increase the tidal storage of the system and provide new habitats and economic possiblities for the troubled region.
> the low lying, useless polders of rheiderland get a new life as production place for aquacultures.
