Right to Life-LIFESPAN Pro-Life Feminist

Destiny Herndon-DeLaRosa, founder and president of New Wave Feminist, replied, “Given that women were treated as property for most of history, it is absolutely abhorrent for us to turn around and do the exact same thing to any other member of the human family.” Whether one agrees with her feminist views or not, one cannot deny what she said is true. May Crowning of Mary

Please join us for a May Crowning of Mary sponsored by the St. Perpetua Daughters of Isabella. The service will be in the main

church on Monday, May 7, 2018. The service will be-gin with a procession at 6:30 p.m. to Mary at the back of the Church, led by the Knights of Columbus Color Corp, the celebrant, followed by the Daughters of Isa-bella, who will place the Crown on a stand next to the Blessed Mother, the children will follow and place flowers at the feet of Mary, and finally the rest of the congregation, not already seated, will process in. The K of C Color Corp. will remain while the rest of the congregation will then proceed to their seats and the service will begin.

At the time of the crowning, two representative of the D of I and the celebrant will escort the one who is to Crown Mary. We will follow the ceremony as pre-scribed in the Daily Missalette. At the end of the May Crowning Celebrations there will be a recessional hymn and all that are able, are invited to proceed to the chapel and participate in a Benediction and Rosary. Benediction and Rosary will be celebrated each Monday in May, the Month of Mary. Please come and help us celebrate Jesus Christ by honoring His mother at this joyous celebration.

Now, of course we all know that Christ, the Second Adam, is the King of Heaven. But if the Second Adam is the King of Heaven, then it is only natural for the Sec-ond Eve to be the Queen of Heaven. And this is some-thing we see in the Bible. In Revelation 12, when we see Mary in heaven, clothed with the sun and standing on the moon, notice that she is wearing a crown of twelve stars on her head. How much more clearly could one signify that someone is the Queen of Heaven than by having her wear a heavenly crown made up of stars?

There are other aspects of Mary’s Queenship we could bring out. For example, the fact that Chris is King and Mary is his mother means that Mary is the Queen Mother -- the mother of the King. Please come and help us celebrate Jesus Christ by honoring His mother at this joyous celebration.

Thank you & God Bless,

Deacon Bob

The camping season is beginning soon at the St. Francis Camp on the Lake. The camp is for intellectually impaired children and adults. There are four scholarships available to inter-

ested individuals with disabilities through the generosity of the Knights of Columbus. You can learn more about the camp and scholarships in a variety of ways. You can pick up a camp flyer at the Alhambra table in the church hall, or you can go to the Denia website (above) and click on the St. Francis Camp section in our website. If you would like to visit the camp, there is an open house on May 5th from 10 am to 2 pm. If you would like to get involved, there is a lot to be done to make the camp ready for the season. There will be a camp clean up on the weekend of May 18th through May 20th. If you have questions or want more information, please email Ted Gozdzialski at [email protected].

Take Five for Faith Holy work

How do you feel about your work? For many, it’s a means to an end, a paycheck, something to be endured, a distraction from other important things in their lives, or even a road to wealth and power. The church, how-ever, views work from a somewhat different angle: Eve-ryone has the right to meaningful work that will sup-port them and their families. Work should help build up society for the good of all. It also participates in God’s creative and redeeming work. It’s a holy thing. As you work today, remember Saint Joseph, who was a worker, and work both for your daily bread and the kingdom of God.

Daughters of Isabella Diaper Drive

The Daughters of Isabella are sponsoring the Carol Boylan Respect for Life Diaper Drive to

benefit a local Pregnancy Help Center. The center is in need of wipes and diapers of all sizes, especially stages 4/5. The drive will run the weekends of May 12 & 13th and May 19th & 20th. Baskets will be available at the front doors. Thank you in advance for your support.

Do you have extra Rosaries?

Do you have any extra Rosaries? Would you be willing to donate them? If so, please place donated Rosaries in the box labeled “Donated Rosaries” located in the back of church. All donated Rosaries will be given to folks who do not have access to them through different Missions.
