my magazine front cover

Step 1

First of all I started off with my main picture and the background. In this photo I have edited my model and I cant get the original photo anymore.

Step 2

Secondly I added the colour to the Jack Daniels bottle to make it look like their was whisky in the bottle.

Step 3I now added the strap and the text to go over the top. I played around with colours at first until I found these ones and was happy with it.

Step 4I put the two photos onto another Photoshop document and I added a plain white boarder so it stuck out more. I then added them to the strap at a tilted angle.

Step 5I went to work on the masthead and after a lot of different designs, colours and sizes, I finally came up with this but I thought it needed something else to go with it to make it stand out more. I also still liked the idea of an arrow on it somewhere.

Step 6

I played around with a few ideas on Photoshop and I came up with this one and I think it went well with the look of my masthead and the theme of my magazine.

Step 7I used an online barcode generator to make my barcode and I wrote the date and the rewind magazine website underneath.

Step 8I then added in some of my cover lines and I used alternating colours that I used for my masthead and strap to draw attention to it.

Step 10I then added in my main cover line to show what the magazine feature was about. I wrote it in white so I could put a dark background behind it so it stood out more.

Step 11I added the background and made it the same colour as the strap background.

Step 12I added in my final cover lines using the same colour as the background of my main cover lines and the strap to make sure I had a nice house style. I also used the same colour as the masthead for the ‘&’ sign to keep the house style up.
