From the Director ...

Gypsies, doctors, and a hypochondriac. It has been a pleasure to be a part of Queen’s College’s production of The Imaginary Invalid.Working with such a talented cast and crew has been both enjoyable and entertaining. I would like to specifically thank Adam Russell for histireless originality, energy and humour – we were always on the same page but sometimes had to resort to charades to get our point across. Anna Van Veldhuisen’s creativity is evident in the original score. I was repeatedly bowled over by the talents of Anna and her band.

Without the dedication and drive of Charles Webster, Dave Park, Laura Harris and Emily Frawley, this play would not have been such an organizational success. Congratulations to a flawless crea-tive team: Laura Ulph, Katie Skillington and Tom Baulch, Lauri Uldrikis, Tom Fifield and Luke Zappia. Lastly thanks to the cast, who made me laugh when I was on my last legs. Their wit, eager-ness and attention to detail helped to make this an exciting and fun show to direct. Bon appétit!

... From the Producer

When I first was given the role of producer, 5 months ago, it seemed like a daunting task. Since then it has been a rollercoaster ride with lots of highs and lows. Following the success of last year’s production, Urine town, there were always going to be big shoes to fill. The standard of the final product; the acting, set, make-up, costume, props and lighting, is far above what I had envisioned months ago. This is a credit to the cast and crews who have put in so much time and effort.

I would like to thank and congratulate Ben Landau, Adam Rus-sel and the entire cast and musicians for putting everything into this production over the last few months. I would also particularly like to thank the entire production team for making my life run as smoothly as could be expected, especially Dave Park for assisting me in my role as producer and often handling the less attractive jobs.

With a week to go before opening night I saw the results of count-less meetings, emails and phone calls for the first time. Seeing the talent displayed in this production made it all worthwhile.

It has been a pleasure working with this group of people and I feel the ease with which the group has worked together is evident in a great theatre experience created. Producing The Imaginary Invalid has been an experience I shall never forget. I hope you get as much enjoyment from it as I have.
