We are happy to be partnering with the Greater Roanoke
Valley Asthma and Air Quality Coalition to bring you this
year’s conference!
Pre Conference Activities: Thursday September 14, 2017
5:00 – 6:00 pm Board Meeting
6:00 – 7:30 pm Welcome Reception- Commonwealth Lounge
Poster Presentations- Posters are to be set up Friday morning during
breakfast and registration and taken down Friday evening after the
conference. Student posters will be judged during the day Friday and the
scholarship will be awarded Saturday morning at the opening of the
conference.
Friday evening activity: We are planning an evening out after the
conference on Friday. Stay tuned for details!

This activity has been submitted to the Virginia Nurses Association for approval to award contact
hours. The Virginia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing
education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Application has been made to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for
continuing education contact hours for respiratory therapists.

Located in beautiful Roanoke, Virginia, the historic Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center, a
DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, is situated alongside downtown Roanoke in the heart of Virginia's
Blue Ridge Mountains, just minutes from Roanoke Regional Airport.
Built in 1882, the fully-restored Tudor-style Hotel Roanoke is proudly listed on the National
Register of Historic Places.
Hotel rates for the RNS conference are $176.00 (plus applicable taxes) a night for both single
and double occupancy. A limited number of rooms have been blocked for the conference so be
sure to make your reservations by August 10, 2017. Conference participants can get the RNS
conference rate for 2 nights prior to and 2 nights after the conference dates based upon
availability. The link above will allow you to make your reservation for RNS rates.
The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi in guest rooms. All guests staying overnight will have
complimentary wireless internet throughout the facility. For guests who are not staying
overnight, but attending the conference, there is a per person fee for internet use.
Parking
Self Parking is $10.00 per night or Valet parking at $16.00 per night for hotel guests.
Transportation
Complimentary shuttle service is available to/from the airport and surrounding areas.
Driving Directions
From North or South I-81
Exit 143 (I-581 South) to Exit 5. Cross Wells Avenue and continue to the main entrance of the
hotel.
From 220N (Martinsville)
220N becomes I-581N. Take exit 4E (Orange Avenue). Take first right at traffic light onto
Williamson Road. After the third traffic light, turn right on Shenandoah Avenue. Take the first
right to main entrance of the hotel.
Alternate:
220N becomes I-581N. Take exit 4E (Orange Avenue). Take the first right at traffic light onto
Williamson Road. Take the first right at the third traffic light onto Wells Avenue. Take the first
left onto Commonwealth Avenue. Take the first right before Shenandoah Avenue to the main
entrance of the hotel.
From 460W (Lynchburg)
460 becomes Orange Avenue. Turn left at the traffic light at Williamson Road and Orange
Avenue. After the third traffic light, turn right on Shenandoah Avenue. Take the first right to
main entrance of the hotel.
Alternate:
460 becomes Orange Avenue. Turn left at the traffic light onto Williamson Road. Take the first
