Resurrection Regional Catholic School 215-742-1127
Mr. Jack Bellantoni - Principal
Karen Fitzgerald, Director of Religious Education
Friends,
We begin our Parish 40 Hour Devotions this
weekend. Our Devotions will be from Sunday
afternoon until Tuesday evening here in our
upper church. This will be a grace-filled time
for us here at Resurrection of Our Lord. We
will have morning reflections, Catholic
devotions like the rosary and Divine Mercy
Chaplet, An afternoon healing service with the sacrament of
anointing, confessions, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament,
and 7pm evening prayer with a reflection each night.
Please join me in welcoming our 2018 guest preacher -
Father Bill Dooner - a local priest of the Archdiocese of
Philadelphia. Fr. Dooner grew up right off of the boulevard
in Martin of Tours Parish. He attended Father Judge High
School and then entered St. Charles Seminary. He was my
pastor in my first parish and I consider him a great friend
and my mentor as a priest. Some of you would smile to
know he was best friends with the late Father Bill McGeown
(pastor of Our Lady of Ransom). Father Dooner brings to us
his 75 years of humor, wisdom and insights. His reflections
will be Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7:00pm.
Please do yourself a favor and feed your spirit with some of
these beautiful parish moments in these blessed days ahead.
May these 40 Hours reinvigorate our hearts.
+Fr. Jim

Mass is offered once monthly for all the members enrolled
in the Sanctuary Endowment Fund. On the occasion of a
funeral or the settlement of an estate, remember your loved
ones with a donation to the Sanctuary Endowment

exclusively for the maintenance, preservation and
restoration of the sanctuary and shrines of our church.
Thank you to the many families who have remembered their
loved ones through the Sanctuary Endowment Fund.
Please remember all our deceased relatives, friends
and fellow parishioners, especially:

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light
shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the
faithfully departed rest in peace. Amen
Bequest/Legacy
Resurrection of Our Lord Church recently received a
very kind and thoughtful bequest from the estate of
Joseph F. Morgenthaler. His considerate gift is to be
appreciated by all of the Parish community.
For many, charitable giving is an act of faith, grounded
in confidence in God’s abundance and motivation by a
desire to create additional resources for accomplishing
God’s work.
Leaving a legacy gift to Resurrection of Our Lord
Parish offers the opportunity to pass on not only your
assets, but also the values that have guided your life.
Remembering Resurrection of Our Lord Parish in your
estate planning is a wonderful way to put your values
into action, ensuring that our parish is maintained for
future generations, as a center of worship and
devotion as a personal legacy.
To remember Resurrection of Our Lord Parish in your
will, you may contact your attorney or financial
advisor for assistance in making a bequest.
PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Good and gracious God,
You call each person by name
and invite them to follow You.
On this World Day of Prayer for Vocations,
may each person hear and respond
to the call they have received.
We pray for all discerning marriage,
the chaste single life, consecrated life,
or ordained ministries,
that your Holy Spirit would guide,
inspire, and strengthen them.
May Your Church and the world
be enriched by the "yes" of Your children.
Amen.

WHAT IS EARTH DAY?
Ever wondered how Earth Day started? This observance arose from an interest in gathering national support for environ-mental issues.
In 1970, San Francisco activist John McConnell and Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson separately asked Americans to join in a grassroots demonstration. McConnell chose the spring equinox (March 21, 1970) and Nelson chose April 22.
Millions of people participated, and today, Earth Day continues to be widely celebrated (mostly on April 22). Common Earth Day activities include planting trees, cleaning up litter, or simply enjoying nature through hiking, gardening, or taking a stroll in a local park.
Josephine C. Connelly Achievement Awards
We are thrilled to announce this year’s award winners – Carlina Hershock, Alica Jose and Mario Clark! These awards which provide four-year grants of 40% tuition are designed to recognize eighth grade students who strive to realize their full academic and human potential, demonstrate the morals and values of a good Catholic education and have a strong desire to attend an Archdiocesan High School. Carlina will be going to Archbishop Ryan, Alicia will be going to St. Hubert and Mario will be attending Roman Catholic. Congratulations to all three students! We wish you all
the best as you continue your Catholic education.
Lenten Dime Race 2018 Thank you to all who brought in dimes for our annual dime race. Resurrection Regional Catholic School is thrilled to announce that we collected a total of $2,475.40. We owe a special thanks to our helpers who generously volunteered their time to measure and count the dimes. They are Mrs. Faustino, Mrs. Frank, Mrs. Hucke, Mrs. Malloy and Ms. Whitmore. We couldn’t have done it
without them and Mrs. Toczylowski who organized the event and deposited all the dimes. Mrs. Peluzzo, Grade 3 Room 8, was the PK – Grade 4 winner for bringing in $151.30 in dimes. Ms. Rowan, Grade 6 Room 11, was the Grades 5-8 winner for bringing in $238.00 in dimes.
Congratulations!
